Paste-eez meets Shimmerz Sprays for a colorful explosion

Hey everyone, Beck BT here again this time with a scrapbook page.  I am really enjoying creating scrapbook pages lately and this one is no exception.  I wanted to create a fun mix of colors and hitting my Shimmerz products make it just so easy.

Shimmerz Products Used:

Paste-eez - Peach Fuzz
Coloringz - No Yoking
Vibez - Pop Art Pink
Spritz - Ruby
Vibez - Egg Noggin'
Vibez - Jeni B Bleu

Other products:
Simple Stories - Good day Sunshine collection papers
Simple Stories - Good day Sunshine collection sticker elements
Simple Stories enamel dots
Silhouette 'love' cut file
Indigoblu Stencil

Shimmery fun:
To create my page I used my Shimmers to create a fun background base for my page.

I started out by applying the paste-eez through a stencil, graduating it lighter as I moved toward the sides of the page.

Next I added fun color to the background by splattering various colours featured in my photo to tie the photo into the page and accent it.

I never planned on the big yellow splat, but I must say I kinda like it so didn't set out to hide it.

I hope you enjoyed my share today!

Till next time

Hey there it's Beck BT here today to share with you another of my cards using the divine Shimmerz products.  I really wanted to focus more on the sprays for today's cards so I had lots of fun with the Vibes Sprays to create this oh so sweet card!

I used the sprays to colour up the divine Spellbinders die cuts as well as the pretty flowers that started their life out as white flowers before they met the 'Vibes' sprays!

For my card today I used the follwoing Shimmerz products:

Shimmerz Vibes in Egg Noggin
Shimmerz Spritz in Truffle, Cotton Candy and Bamboo leaf

Celebrate Card with Beck BT

Hi Everyone, I've been at it creating another mixed media card for you to enjoy and hopefully be inspired.  They do take a little more time mixing different mediums and creating layers, but the finished card is so much more special I think.  I love that you can see the 'art' in it.

For my card today I enjoyed playing with a few different yummy Shimmerz products:

Shimmerz Dazzlers - Coral me Crazy & Sea U in the Mountain
Shimmerz Inklingz - Precious Posey & Dear John Letter
Shimmerz Creameez - Daffodil & She Packs a Punch
Shimmeringz - Baby's Breath
Vibez - Egg Noggin
Spritz - Cotton Candy

I used them in various ways and I'll share on that in the close up pictures below

I added colour to the flowers with the Shimmerz Creameez in She packs a Punch as well as watercolour effects to the background with all the Creameez and Inklingz listed above.

For some added splatter I mixed the Shimmeringz - Baby's Breath, Vibez in Egg Noggin and Spritz in Cotton Candy to match in with my color tones and added a little splatter to the card.

Stencilling with the Dazzlers is such a dream!  I used the Sea U in the mountain with a stencil to create that yummy background texture.

I achieved beautiful lustre and texture with the Coral me Crazy Dazzlers on the paper die cut followed by heating with a heat gun until I bubbled a little.

Thanks so much for heading over to the blog today to check out my project!  I hope I've inspired you and shown you how lovely a little Shimmerz mixed media can be on your sweet cards.

Till next time

Cute & Happy Layout With Irit

Hi! Irit here and I'm so excited to share my first project as part of the Shimmerz team!
One of the hard decisions us crafters have to make is which colors to choose for our project. I find it easy to match my colors to the collection I know I want to use and that's just what I did for this layout (doesn't it look scrumptious??)-

Here's my finished layout-

I started with this cute patterned paper by Crate Paper Wonder collection as my background. I knew I wasn't going to use a lot of water so I didn't prime the paper with anything. Using the packaging a.k.a. the smooshing technique (shown in the video) I applied Vibez in Egg Noggin' and Glorious Day (two lovely golden shimmery sprays, Glorious Day is a touch darker and deeper and I used it for the splatters all over the layout as well), Coloringz in Oh Say Can You Sea (beautiful flat aqua shade) and Spritz in Caribbean Sunset (gorgeous warm orange pinkish red).
Once these were dry I added some Dazzlers in Coral Me Crazy (a soft peachy shimmery paste) and Texturez in Patina (perfect mint!!) through a stencil for a tone on tone effect. You can find all these goodies in the Shimmerz store!
You can see exactly how I created this layout and background in the process video-

All the papers and embellishments are from the Wonder collection by Crate Paper. Here are some detail shots-

Thanks so much for visiting and I'll be back next month with a new project!

Getting Whimsical with Shimmerz {and NEW INLINGZ!!}

Hi everyone!  Gabrielle here with you today to share with you my first project as a Shimmerz Educator!  I was so excited to get my happy little hands on some of the NEW Inklingz and was just amazed by the beautiful effect you can get with them.

As soon as I saw the color 'Blue My Mind' from the Inklingz, I knew I had to do something whimsical with it.  I pulled out some polymer baking clay (Sculpey or Fimo) and made a mermaid tail to act as a center-piece to my canvas design. I also made a few little accent pieces (Starfish designs) to add to the canvas as well.  The mermaid was made by sculpting the clay by hand and the 'scales' were added by using the tip of a pen (with the pen retracted so that the ink tip doesn't touch the clay).  I used the pen tip on the starfish as well.  Baked it for 15 minutes and gave the piece a coat of Gesso....now it is ready to paint!  I gathered together a bunch of my gorgeous Shimmerz products and an 8"x10" canvas and got started.  Here is a list of the Shimmerz products I used for this canvas.....

Shimmerz Products:
Inklingz (Blue My Mind, Miner Miner 49er), Texturez (Patina), Spritz (Treasured Hymn), Vibez (Egg Noggin', Jenni B Bleu), Dazzlerz (Tutti-Frutti), Shimmerz (Key Lime, Green Olive).

And to make it easy to follow along, I created a video tutorial to show, step by step how I created this canvas.  Enjoy!

Here are a few close-ups of my project....

The Inklingz create such a wonderful two toned, shimmering effect, I think my favorites are in the 'Gold' collection, I know I'll be using these again and again!

As you can see in the video, Shimmerz products are easy to use.  The Inklingz are a little different because they are a dry cake, much like a watercolor pigment cake.  You just add a little sprtiz of water let it sit for a moment and do a little stirring with your paint brush.  The more you stir, the thicker and more luxurious the paint becomes.

For my chipboard piece I used some Shimmerz paint, they have wonderful little flecks of mica in them that not only add glitter to your design but even a tiny bit of texture as well.

And finally here is a photo of the corner cluster of embellishments I added to my project.  I hope you enjoyed my project and that I've inspired you to give a mixed media canvas a try.

If  you would like to purchase some of the NEW Inklingz or any other Shimmerz products, just head on over to the SHIMMERZ STORE .....and remember if you would like a FREE bonus Shimmerz product, when you put your order in just put my name 'Gabrielle' into the 'INTRUCTIONS TO MERCHANT' area and you will recieve a FREE full sized bottle of Dimensionz or Shimmerz or a sample sized jar of Dazzlers or Textures in the color of your choice!
Note: right now you can get extra savings on your Inklingz by purchasing full sets of the Pearl, Gold or Metal color groups!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and checking out my project! xo
