Scrapbooking Mixed Media Tutorial With Irit

Hi! Irit here with a new project. This one is all about pretty soft shimmery colors. I used a mixture of Dazzlers, creameez and Inklingz to create this layout-

I created the background with Dazzlers in two shades, Coral Me Crazy and Tutti Frutti and a roller stamp. I used the leftover pastes on another piece of cardstock and let that dry too. Once dry I used some floral think metal dies to cut the second piece of cardstock.

I adhered the flowers and leaves to the background. Next step was to add color to the flowers. I used Creameez in Trippin in the Tropics, Good Ol' Summer Time and Inklingz in She Packs A Punch. For coloring the leaves I used Inklingz in Can't Elope and Creameez in Just Peachy.

The last step was adding some shadows behind the flowers and splatters. I used Vibez spray in Taupe of the Morning for that, which is a lovely shimmery grey.
You can see exactly how I created this layout and get some tips in this video tutorial-

Lovely- Scrapbooking Mixed Media Tutorial With Irit

Hi! Irit here with a new project I'm very excited to share! For this layout I used a beautiful rainbow of Coloringz and some Dazzlerz. Here's the finished page-

I started this project with some Canson drawing paper and used Coloringz and the packaging technique to create some pretty watercolor-like stains.

Coloringz used-
No Yolking
Peachy Keen
Pretty in Pink
Pink Stilettos
Don't Citron Me
Oh Say Can You Sea
Well Blue Me Down
Heidi Ho Blue

I then used a Mama Elephant flower stamp (the set is called Lovely Mum) and white embossing powder to emboss the flower. I cut it out and created two rows of flowers.

To create a lovely subtle textured background I used Dazzlers in Spun Sugar and Coral Me Crazy. I loved how that looked, but not together with the flowers, so I covered most with white paint, which lightened the color but kept the texture. Next I added lots of splatters in Taupe Of The Morning (a gorgeous shimmery grey Vibez spray) to the background.

Finished touches were embellishments from Crate Paper and Maggie Holmes.

Here's a video that shows exactly how to create this layout, step be step-

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will try some of the techniques I used!

Be Brave

Hi! Irit here with a new layout using some of my favorite colors of Shimmerz goodies, but this time I'm creating a summer layout. I really love the contrast of all those corals and pinks with the blue water.

I started with watercolor paper, as I knew I was going to use lots of water with my Inklingz and Creameez. To get that beautiful stained watercolored look, you really need to work in layers. Apply one layer of color, let it dry, and then go back and add more color where needed. I like to start with softer colors and work my way to the brighter ones.

On this project I started with Inklingz in Bahama Mama, She Packs A Punch, Can't Elope and Creameez in Daffodil. In the second layer I added the slightly darker Trippin In The Tropics and Good Ol' Summer Time. I also added splatters in each layer. For my last layer I pulled out some more intense shades. I used Vibez in Mango Tango and Pop Art Pink as well as Coloringz in Pretty in Pink (that's the darker pink you can see splattered in the photo above).

I let everything completely dry, and then pulled out my obsession these days... Dazzlers. I just love these shimmery colorful pastes. They are gorgeous and a pleasure to work with. I used a Heidi Swapp Stencil and 3 colors of Dazzlers- Tutti Frutti, Coral Me Crazy and Dreamscicle. You can see in the video exactly how I applied them to get a lovely color variation.

I just love how all the layers of watercolors peek between the stencil image. I finished my layout with some papers layered behind my photo and lots of Crate Paper Wonder embellishments that fit my color scheme perfectly.
Here's the video that shows the entire process-

Thanks for visiting and I'll be back next month with a new project! Have a lovely day!

Scrapbooking Mixed Media Tutorial With Irit

Hi! Irit here and I'm so excited to share this layout I created using some gorgeous Shimmerz goodies! Here's my finished layout-

I started with a floral silk screen by Heidi Swapp and my favorite product these days (it's a tough choice!)- some shimmery yummy Dazzlers paste in Coral Me Crazy. It worked so beautifully! Look at the detail you get-

Once the paste was dry I added some watercolors. I used Inklingz in Beets Me (gorgeous shimmery cool pink), and Creameez in Daffodil (lovely yellow), Berry Hot (a brighter cool pink) and Trippin in the Tropics (love this color! It's a pinkish warm red). I applied a couple of layers and also some splatters.
Once these were dry I decided the layout needed some more color, so I used Coloringz in No Yolking (no shimmer bright yellow), Pink Stilettos (hot pink) and Vibez in Mango Tango (again that lovely color, similar to Trippin in the Tropics, it's a warm pinkish orangy red) to amplify the color a bit.

And my background is done! I used papers and die cuts from the new Dear Lizzy Collection called Documentary. The colors I chose coordinate perfectly with the collection!

Here's a video tutorial that shows exactly how I created this layout-

Cute & Happy Layout With Irit

Hi! Irit here and I'm so excited to share my first project as part of the Shimmerz team!
One of the hard decisions us crafters have to make is which colors to choose for our project. I find it easy to match my colors to the collection I know I want to use and that's just what I did for this layout (doesn't it look scrumptious??)-

Here's my finished layout-

I started with this cute patterned paper by Crate Paper Wonder collection as my background. I knew I wasn't going to use a lot of water so I didn't prime the paper with anything. Using the packaging a.k.a. the smooshing technique (shown in the video) I applied Vibez in Egg Noggin' and Glorious Day (two lovely golden shimmery sprays, Glorious Day is a touch darker and deeper and I used it for the splatters all over the layout as well), Coloringz in Oh Say Can You Sea (beautiful flat aqua shade) and Spritz in Caribbean Sunset (gorgeous warm orange pinkish red).
Once these were dry I added some Dazzlers in Coral Me Crazy (a soft peachy shimmery paste) and Texturez in Patina (perfect mint!!) through a stencil for a tone on tone effect. You can find all these goodies in the Shimmerz store!
You can see exactly how I created this layout and background in the process video-

All the papers and embellishments are from the Wonder collection by Crate Paper. Here are some detail shots-
