Beary Christmas | Ericka Strange

Hello everyone, Ericka here with one last Christmas card that hopefully gets mailed out tomorrow.
For my card today I used a mixture of Vibez sprays and Shimmerz paints along with this cute Christmas Bear from Reverse Confetti.

I started out by creating the background using the Reverse Confetti Stiched Burst Cover Die and then spraying the background with Vibez Glorious Day and Jeni B Bleu. I then used a Versamarker to make small dots in the middle of the star burst and gold heat emboss them. I love these two colors together and the gold Glorious Day is so pretty!

I then stamped the images on watercolor paper with Versafine ink and heat embossed them with a clear sparkle powder for some extra glittery shine.

I used the following Shimmerz and Creamz to paint up my images.

For more information about my card, feel free to stop by my blog Strangely Creative. I hope you have a wonderful shimmery Christmas and that it is filled with happiness.

So Sappy Cosmos | Ericka Strange

Hey Shimmerz fanz happy Tuesday! Ericka here with another Color Challenge card I made using So Sappy Shimmerz paints. This month the Shimmerz Design Team has been playing with the Color Challenge which was to pick a color to use on our projects that we might not typically use. I love making cards with flowers and so I challenged myself to use the So Sappy on a card I would normally use bright colors.

For this card I was trying to go for a Sepia look.

I stamped the Cosmo background stamp from Simon Says Stamp on watercolor paper withe Versafine ink and heat embossed it with some Emerald Creek Just Java embossing powder.
I used the following Shimmerz products on my card:

Flowers - I started with a base of So Sappy Shimmerz. Once it was dry I used Spiced Cider for the shading and Antique Lace for highlights. I love these colors together. For the middle of the flowers I used Bumble Bee and Pumpkin.

Background - I wanted to added a deeper brown color so used Coffee Shimmerz and added a couple spritz of Jeni B Bleu to the card as well.

For the sentiment I used the same embossing powder and finished it up with some vellum behind the sentiment.

That's all for me today. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget if you make a purchase on our new website, type in ERICKA in the comments and you'll receive a freebie with your order!

Beginning the New Year with Tranquility!

Hi Shimmerz Fans! It's Gabrielle here with you today to share with you my latest Mixed Media Canvas using some of those, oh so gorgeous Shimmerz paints products!  This month I combined Shimmerz Paints with some of my favorite Dusty Attic Chipboard pieces.  I based my project on the January Mood Board from Dusty Attic.  I found all the perfect colors to match the moodboard in my Shimmerz paints stash!  Here are the Shimmerz Paints products I used for this project....

Shimmerz Paints Products used in this project:

~ Moody Mauve Coloringz
~ Heidi Ho Blue Coloringz
~ Tuscan Sun Spritz
~ Don't Be Suede Coloringz
~ A Shade of Grey Coloringz
~ Spiced Cider Blingz
~ Blue My Mind Inklingz
~ Good as Gold Inkingz
~ Gosh Garnet Inklingz

Yep, I used a lot of Coloringz...I just love the rich intense color you get with these color sprays!  As always, I created a Video Tutorial for you all, so that you can see step by step how I put this project together.  Grab yourself your favorite beverage, kick back, relax and enjoy!....

Here are a few close-ups of today's project that you can view at your leisure...

I love the lovely metalic sheen the Inklingz give to the chipboard pieces!

I like to apply my colors in 2 ways, layering them on and drying between layers....this can give a nice intense coloring to your project.  I also like to apply complimentary colors in different sections of the canvas at the same time and let the colors blend together in some areas, this creates a variety of colors on your canvas.  As you can see above adding the Blue My Mind Inklings to the Good as Gold while still wet, created a lovely hints of green on my chipboard pieces.

I love the intense blue I got with the Heidi Ho Blue Coloringz. To get even more depth of color, I added a spritz of 'A Shade of Grey' Coloringz to each of the corners layering it over the blue....this gave me deep intense color on my canvas.

I hope you all enjoyed my project and video tutorial today!  And hope I've inspired you to give these gorgeous products a go!  You can order your own Shimmerz Paints directly from their website Shimmerz Paints Store, and don't forget!....Just mention my name 'Gabrielle' in the 'Instructions to Merchant/seller' part of your next Shimmerz paint purchase and you will get a FREE/Bonus Shimmerz Paints product in the color of your choice!

That Autumn Feeling

Spiced Cider happens to be my new favorite Shimmerz Blingz color.
I painted it directly on chipboard and it turned out so beautiful that it made center-stage on my Autumn-themed card! Love. it.

Speaking of Autumn, I created the following layout for my November family calender. We've yet to take a family photo (planned for this Sunday) which will be added soon.

I know it's hard to tell in photos...can you see the Baby's Breath spritzed onto the trees?

And another favorite, Penny Pincher in the background?

I added just a bit of Mango Madness to complete my Autumn layout.

Thanks for stopping by, have a Shimmery day!

Fun with Chipboard Frames

Happy Wednesday!!
I was inspired by the brushed finish on the butterfly bench that my niece is sitting on in my photo. I wanted to use something "brushed" looking on my page, but had nothing in my stash that suited me.

I immediately turned to my Shimmerz Paints, colored chipboard frames, and a piece of sand paper. First I distressed the chipboard frames with the sand paper, then I lightly painted the frames using a foam brush. I painted them in a "dusting" fashion until I got the brushed finish look I was going for.

The outcome is so cool ... I'm super excited how they turned out!! Check 'em out...

CPS - Hello Card

For this warm & cozy "Hello" card using the CPS sketch, I decided to make my own bookpaper flower. I used Spiced Cider Blingz and the flat, round end of my paintbrush to paint the polka dots onto the diecut bookpaper flowers. When they were dry I scrunched them up and then layered them with a felt flower and glazed brad.

I love the friendly feel of the polka dots . . . perfect for a note to a friend.

Supplies: Spiced Cider Blingz, Cardstock: American Crafts, Patterned Paper: Collage Press, KI Memories, Cosmo Cricket, SEI; Letter Stickers: KI Memories, Felt Flower: Creative Imaginations, Brad: Basic Grey; Other: String

Thanks for coming by!
