Never Grow Up - June Color Kitz || Natalie Dill

Hey friends! Natalie here with some inspo for your June Color Kitz.

The June 2021 Color Kitz include:
  • Sapphire Spritz
  • Powder Puff Spritz
  • Elfin' Magic Vibez
  • Strawberry Fieldz Creameez
  • Great Fruit Creameez
  • 1 exclusive  "Sunshine in My Pocketcut file created by Shimmerz Paints. Available in JPEG, SVG and PNG format in a zip folder.
  • 1 set of "Oh My Heart" Dotz
  • 1 set of 4 customizable watercolor journaling cards.
So much product - it's a truly great deal!

I loved using this kit to create a landscape layout. I made a sky and a garden and place a photo of my son in the garden! Find the full process video on my channel.

I applied texture paste for the bottom grass through a stencil from a past Color Kitz collection and for the sky through a phrased Vicki Boutin stencil. I used Ranger matte texture paste.

I then sprayed the Elfin' Magic on the grassy area with a bit of additional water to allow the color to flow through the dry texture.

I used the same technique with the Sapphire in the sky area.

After the areas dried, I went back and added additional splatter.

I coated water color paper with two layers of the Great Fruit and Strawberry Fields creameez. after it dried, I used the papers to die cut multiple florals.

I used the Shimelle Never Grow Up collection to add die cuts and stickers to my page and it matched this Color Kit perfectly!

I hope you'll grab your kit before it's gone! Find it in the Shimmerz store. Mention my name for a free gift with purchase.

Late Summer Floral layout with Samantha Robles

Hey everyone! I hope August has treated everyone well. I'm SO ready for the Fall season. Before we jump into the new season, I needed to squeeze out one last Summer inspired layout for the season.

I was so excited to break into my "Go The Scenic Route" Collection by Pink Paislee. I started by ripping the top and bottom part of the sheet of Paper 12. Not gonna lie, it was a little heartbreaking. But it's so worth it! After sticking it to a sheet of white cardstock, I then start by adding my photo to the center of my layout. Afterwards, I start piecing my flower ephemera pieces behind my photo. This photo is from 9 years ago when my husband and I were tiny and dating (HAHA). It's my all time favorite photo of us though. I've been saving it for some time.

After gluing those pieces down, I start on my stamped pieces. I wanted these to be more highlighted. These flowers will look familiar to some of you. I used them in a March Color Kitz Collection layout. They're from Altenew.

The Shimmerz colors I used are the following:
Precious Posey Inklingz
Lapis Dance Creameez
Dandy-Lion Creameez
Magenta Shimmerz

Lapis Dance is one of my absolute favorites. It's an underrated color for sure. The amount of shimmer and vibrancy it added to your projects is perfection. After my paint dries, I highlight the little features of the flowers. The cutting doesn't have to be perfect when trimming them out. Messy doesn't always mean a mess. Perfection can sometimes be intimidating. Don't be afraid to color, paint or cut outside the lines.

I wanted my painted pieces to pop out more. That means we make them LITERALLY pop out with some 3D foam tape pieces.
The final touches are some awesome Dotz from the Shimmerz Shop and adding some cute polka dots around the flowers. Keeping it simple does not mean giving up that magical effect to your photos.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Find one way to make Shimmerz help your layouts POP. Get stocked up on those fabulous transitional colors for Fall.

Have a wonderful week!

Wild Oceans || July 2020 Color Kitz || Natalie Dill

Hey friends! Natalie here today with the July 2020 Color Kitz.

This kit is full of goodness to include
  • Pink Moscato Vibez
  • Oh Say Can You Sea Coloringz
  • Cheeky Pink Creameez
  • Blue Grass Shimmerz
  • Bubblegum Blast Shimmerz
  • 1 exclusive Layered Hibiscus cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 set of "Flamingo Bay" Dotz
  • 1 package of an exclusive sequins mix: Flamingo Bay from "Spiegelmom Scraps"

I gessoed a sheet of white cardstock and used the hibiscus flower cut file to mask and spritzed the Pink Moscato Vibez and Oh Say Can You Sea Coloringz around the edges as a border.

Then I used a paintbrush to soften the edges. You can see the exact process on my YouTube channel.

I cut three layered hibiscus and painted the large flower with the Pink Moscato Vibez.

I painted the inside floral with the Bubble Gum Blast Shimmerz, and the stamen with Cheeky Pink Creameez splattered with Blue Grass Shimmerz.

I outlined the edge of each flower with the Flamingo Bay sequins. Since these flowers were so pretty and made such a statement, I tried to not add too many other embellishments in order that they shine.

I borrowed my title from a poem by Atticus and had these perfect Amy Tan Thickers to match the Oh Say Can you Sea Coloringz.

I left a space behind the photo to tuck some journaling.

I had so much fun working with this Color Kitz this month & hope I have inspired you to create something of your own.

Make sure to pop into the store and grab your own July color kit!

Hi Shimmerz Friends & Fans!

Amanda here, and boy oh boy was I excited to create with our gorgeous new

If you missed the reveal, here's what this month's amazing kit looks like....

Whoa! What a spectacular kit!
So.much.gorgeousness!

The June Color Kitz contains:

Boogie Boardin' Blue Creameez
Sunset Strip Vibez
Sunkissed Inklingz
Pool Me Close Shimmerz
Pretty in Pink Coloringz
Orange Sherbet Shimmerz
1 exclusive Sunkissed Flower cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
1 wavy textured stencil
1 set of "Summer Vibez" Dotz
1 package of Minty Meadow Sequins from "Spiegelmom Scraps"

WOW!
These kits are jam packed with awesomeness & are bound to sell out fast!

Here's what I created with this stunning Summer themed kit....

"Happy"

Wow! Such a striking Summer vibes page!
I couldn't resist creating with all the colors - they look so incredible together!

Let's take a closer look at this messy, fun page....

So much to love about The June Color Kitz!

I started my layout by painting up that gorgeous sun design with Sunset Strip Vibez, Orange Sherbert Shimmerz & Sunkissed Inklingz onto some smooth watercolor paper. Once dry, I trimmed apart all the sections, & arranged them onto my white cardstock base. I distressed each segment, & then messily machine stitched into place.

I love how effective this sun burst looks!
Those colors really are somethin'!

Next, I painted up my ocean with Pool Me Closer Shimmerz, applied the new waves texture stencil (included in the June Color Kitz) and painted in some Boogie Boardin' Blue Creameez. I also added in some royal blue stamping ink with the stencil too! This really added definition & interest to my waves.

I layered my darling boy's sweet photo onto a few sheets of tissue wrap, & some ephemera pieces before tucking in & adorning his framed photo with the fabulous Summer Vibez Dotz. Super cool!

I used a few labels from Paige Evan's Bloom collection to 'tell my story' and add a bit of journaling to my layout. I used the warmer tones with the sun rays, and the cool blues through the ocean. I also adhered the blue ones in a wavy fashion to mimic the Boogie Boardin' Blue stenciling. Simple, but so effective!

For finishing touches, I used the Minty Meadow sequins to complete my Summer fun page! The teal sequins matched beautifully with the ocean  & all the warmer tone sequins coordinated with the sunshine! Love it!

Please watch my process video of how this layout came together HERE

Thanks so much for watching!
I hope you enjoyed my video & feel inspired to get a lil painty today!

Thanks for stopping by today,
til next time,

Fresh Start by Samantha Robles

Good Saturday morning everyone! I know this has been quite the week. I love Spring season though, don't you? The colors, the smells. I was so excited to start grabbing those fun Spring colors in the new Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz for March. The new kit includes a new Spritz color called "Sweet Pea". Guys, it's a must have in your craft room. It's a very soft lilac purple. The more you add to it, the more gorgeous it becomes. This month with Shimmerz Paints, we are also doing the "Spring Forward Challenge". Our challenge is not to use patterned pattern in the month of March. Challenge accepted y'all!

With this layout, I started with some Altenew stamps in the Henna collection. Right now, I'm super into making my own ephemera. It gives me the chance to really make my page even my own with my own idea for colors and style. So take it from me, I can't stamp to save my life. However; It's become my new addiction at best.
I then started painting my flowers the following colors:
I took an afternoon and really went to town detailing every little thing about the flowers. Once that process was done, I staked this scalloped white cardstock on top of a soft pink sheet. It was then time to layer!
Some of my flowers have 3d tape on the back. Others were just simply glued down. I then added some Dotz from the "OO La La" Set. The final tiny touch is adding these adorable stickers from the new Bloom Street Collection by Pink Paislee.
I hope this inspired you to reach for those fun Stamps and Shimmerz Paints! The March Color Kitz Collection is now available in the Shimmerz Shop. Don't forget that this weekend, paint products and Dotz are 20% off in the Shimmerz Shop when you use promo code:
LUCKY20 at checkout.
Have a happy and safe weekend everyone!
XOXO

Sealed with a Kiss with Natalie || Color Kitz

Hey friends! Natalie here using the February 2020 Color Kitz for a fun, Valentine's themed layout.

This month's kit is full of fun, romantic colors and embellishments.
For $25.99 you get
  • Pink Outside The Box Spritz: A new exclusive sweet pink with silver shimmer.
  • Blushing Bride Vibez
  • Weakest Pink Shimmerz: A new exclusive soft pink hue with shimmer.
  • My Bleeding Heart Coloringz
  • Spotlight White Inklingz
  • Pink Champagne Creameez
  • 1 exclusive Valentine cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 teaspoon package of Chipboard Heart Pieces
  • 1 set of "You Are Loved" Dotz
  • 1 set of Gold Floss
So much fun!

I isolated the envelope cut file and cut it in black. I backed it with paper from Echo Park's Be My Valentine collection, which compliments this color kit so well! You can watch the entire process video on my YouTube channel.

I used Blushing Bride Vibez & Pink Outside the Box Spritz with water to create the background. I utilized a heart stencil for subtle pattern as well.

I also splattered the background with Spotlight White Inglingz, Pink Champagne Creameez, and Weakest Pink Shimmerz.

Look how adorable the wood veneer heart sprinkles are! I left some natural and I painted some with Weakest Pink Shimmerz.

The Blushing Bride Vibez and Pink Outside the Box Spritz are so fun because the more layers applied, the more intense and vibrant the colors become. You can get the look of mutiple products/colors all with only two products!

The gold twine provided in the Kit is super fun, and a fun, added texture. I used mine to back two Dotz I added for embellishment.

Adding small touches of glue to your thread strings will allow you to control their flow and it will dry clear! You get an organic, abstract look with secret control!

I used the My Bleeding Heart Coloringz mixed with some Blushing Bride Vibez and a dash of Spotlight White to create some backgroudn paper for the heart in the middle of the cut file. I love the dimension you can get just from mixing paints!

I added a few splatters from my stash/past kits to add in the black and gold elements used elsewhere in the layout to the background. I used Vibes Before Dawn for the black and Inklingz Old Yeller for the gold.

The cut file is versatile! You can utilize the insides and the cut out dashes would be great to add stitching to your layout.

I threw in some gold gems from my stash as a last element to tie embellishements in with the background.

I hope you're inspired to create something beautiful with the February Color Kitz this month!

xoxo, Natalie

Be Still | Jen McMurtrey

Hello Shimmerz friends!

With the holidays behind us and winter setting in (in the U.S.), I thought it would be nice to create something bright and cheerful. Today's layout features a rainbow of Shimmerz colors with the Paige Evans Layered Sunburst cut file and a few simple embellishments.

To begin this project, I selected the following Shimmerz Paints to create the rainbow colors.

Next, I used white cardstock and cut one each of the layers in the cutfile. I did enlarge the file to
12 x 12 prior to cutting it so it would fit on the page.

Once I had cut out the layers of the sunburst, I painted each one with the colors listed above. To get the deep red, I layered Scarlett's Fever with My Bleeding Heart. I did the same with Freshly Squeezed and Pumpkin to get a rich orange.

After the paints were dry, I layered them and decided where to place them on the background. Offset focal points are always a favorite of mine, so I placed the sunbursts in the lower-left corner and machine stitched them to white cardstock. For more texture, I folded each layer upward at the seam.

Since my title is simple, I decided to keep the embellishments simple as well.

The title was created using Felicity Jane puffy stickers.

Using enamel dots to match the paint colors, I placed them in the order of the rainbow to match the sunbursts.

I used black enamel dots to anchor the title. In keeping with the simplicity of the design, I added the date to the bottom-right corner and opted to forego journaling. Because the sunbursts are so bright and beautiful, I wanted to keep them the focal point of the layout (in addition to the photo).

I hope this bright layout has inspired you to create today. If you are planning to create your own rainbow but need to add some colors to your collection, remember to type JENNIFER in the comments at checkout to receive a Shimmerz freebie!!

Roam & Rove | Color Kitz | Natalie Dill

Hi friends! Natalie here sharing the January 2020 Color Kitz, and boy did they choose to start the new year with a bang!

I absolutely ADORE this kit!
For $29.95 you get:
  • Into The Woods Vibez
  • Before Dawn Vibez
  • Sage Advice Shimmerz
  • For Shore Creameez
  • Silver Fox Shimmerz
  • Sheer Bliss Inklingz
  • 4 journaling cards
  • 1 exclusive forrest cut file created by Paige Taylor Evans
  • 1 teaspoon package of Country Buttonz
  • 1 set of "Happy Day" Dotz
And the kit is so incredibly versatile! You can create multiple tones of colors dpending on the applied layers.

For this layout, I created a gesso circle a bit larger than the size of the cut file. I then applied each color to the background paper separately and allowed each to dry before applying the next. I did not want the colors to blend.

I also used my heat gun to dry the colors, which left me with the hard lines of varying depths of color that I love. I feel like it looks like a topographical map & I love that look!

I did a rough color-blocking technique and I applied the Before Dawn Vibez in the mountain region, Into the Woods Vibez and Sage Advice Shimmerz in the tree portion of the page, For Shore Creameez and Silver Fox Shimmerz in the water part of the cut file & Sheer Bliss Inklingz int he Sun section of the circle!

I love the cute dotz, and they're versatile for so many types of projects. Here I paired the dotz with some die cut foliage atop one of the journaling cards from the Kitz.

The tiny buttons inspired me to create textured clouds! I used the buttons, as well as sequins and gems from my stash to fill in the three clouds on the cut file.

And can we talk about this cut file?!

This is TOTALLY my jam, and it can be used with so many types of layouts!
Outdoor adventures
Picturesque landscapes
Holiday photos
<Insert your own adventure here!>

I love the cut files because you can customize them to the size you prefer. You could also isolate only a portion of the scene for a unique take on the file.

Definitely don't forget the gesso with all of these shiny, shimmery goodness.

You can find a process video for this page on my YouTube channel.

Grab your January Color Kitz before they're out & a new kit is stocked for February!
