Beautiful | Daisie Scraps

Hi Everyone!  Today I am sharing with you a layout that I used 2 paint colors to create.  I usually go all out and use all of the colors but today I felt that I wanted to simplify.

Products Used:

This layout was pretty simple to put together.  I knew I wanted to use black cardstock as my background because the Inklings would really pop and shimmer on it.  I chose the Beets Me Inklingz because it is a gorgeous pink-purple color.  I started by free painting 2 flowers on the background.  I used 2 coats to make sure that the black didn't show through.

Next, I added the vines and leaves.  I used 2 coats of the Green Goddess Inklingz for this too.  I wanted the paint to be as opaque as possible.  The shimmer in the paint really shines on this background!  I chose to rip part of the cardstock off the right side and add some pattern paper and crepe paper for some added dimension and texture.

I used some pattern paper to back my photo and popped it up on some foam adhesive.  I pulled out the green and pink butterfly Dotz because they match the colors of the paints perfectly.  I created embellishment clusters around the Dotz.  I finished with the title and some sequins.

There is a video up on YouTube if you are interested in more of the process for this layout.  Don't forget that you can add my name (Daisie) to the comments of your next order for a fun little freebie to be added to you order.

Ruffled Posey with Shimmerz | Ericka StrangeB

Hello everyone, Ericka here with a peony card I made using a digital stamp my friend Rachel Vass created and has available in her Etsy store.

I love using Inklingz and Creameez to watercolor this beautiful peony. I started by printing the flower on watercolor paper using my Brother printer. I was going for a no-line watercolor look, so decreased the line transparency when I printed the image.

I started off with a layer of Beets Me Inklingz and then, when the petal was still wet, daubed in a little Lapis Dance Creameez for a pretty multicolored flower. For the leaves I used a combination of Lettuce Get Together Creameez and Emerald City Inklingz.

Once my the flower was dry, I fussy cut it and added some string around the base. I sprayed Sweet Heart Vibez on some eggplant cardstock and added some flicks of Beets Me Inklingz. to it as well. I stamped the sentiment in WOW Embossing ink and heat embossed it with some sparkly Cloud 9 embossing powder.

I used some 3D Zots to adhere the flower to the card base to finish off my card.

Thanks for stopping by and check out my blog Strangely Creative for more information on the products I used. Have a wonderful day!

Paradise Found with the Missy Whidden Color Kitz | Natalie Dill

I am so excited to have my first Shimmerz project on the blog today using the Missy Whidden Color Kitz - August Edition!

- 2oz bottle of Plum Pudding Spritz
- jar of Pining For You Creameez
- jar of Beets Me Inklingz
- jar of an exclusive new color: Rita on the Rock Shimmerz
- package of three exclusive Dotz: "Paradise Party"
- exclusive hibiscus cut file created by Paige Taylor Evans

I had so much fun using this gorgeous color combination to create a Hawaiian layout! You can find the entire process video on my YouTube channel.

I cut the gorgeous, intricate cut file on gold metallic cardstock. I backed the flowers with vellum painted with the Beets Me and Plum Pudding. It paired so gorgeously with the DOTZ!

I used a small dotted stencil to apply texture paste down the middle of my 9x12 layout, and then I patch painted in the Pining for You & Rita on the Rocks greens and let them fully dry before applying the Plum Pudding and Beets Me colors, so as not to create a muddied color palette.

The colors are so vibrant, only minimal embellishment was needed to complete the layout. I let the Plum Pudding be the star of the show by letting the purple bleed out of the texturized rectangle & using it to color the word "paradise" in my title.

Even though the cut word gave me fits (probably because I was impatient and didn't let it fully dry), I love how the color dried darker around the edges, giving a natural emphasis around the title!

Embellishing with gold glitter and gold foil really gave this tropical layout the lush feeling I was craving!

Those Dotz are just the cutest and match perfectly with the Kitz colors! I love the versatility of the cut file. Changing the type of paper its cut on, or the size it is cut can be a super fun way to create a variety of styles on multiple pages using only one file!

Pop over and get your Missy Whidden Color Kitz: August Edition today, as there aren't many left! They're such a fun way to build your mixed media stash with some creative direction and inspiration starting points!

Happy - A Purple Layout from Karine

Hi there, crafty friends,

I'd like to share with you today a layout I made. As tomorrow is Valentine's day, I thought I would take a break from my usual bluish color combo and go for a more romantic color. As my last layout was pink, I thought I'd go with purple. So here is my layout.

Happy

After covering my entire background with clear gesso, I used Salt of the Earth Paste-Eez through a letter stencil. I'm loving this stencil, lately, and with Paste-Eez, I got crisp, sharp edges with no bleeding underneath the stencil I love it!

To add color to that textured background, I used a mix of Royal Purple Shimmerz, Power to the Purple Creameez, Beets Me Inklingz and Razzeldazzelberry Vibez. Look at this beautiful mix of purple I got! Can't get any better than this!

To embellish, I used one piece from the Leafy Shrub Set 1, from 2Crafty Chipboard. To color it, I used Have a Grape Day! Texturez, which I painted directly onto my chioboard. I love the shimmery finish I got, along with the great texture.

In my embellishments clusters, I also added the Fine Leafy Bush chipboard, also from 2Crafty Chipboard, which I painted with 3 Sheets to the Wind AcriTonez. I cut it in smaller pieces and scattered those here and there.

Scrapbooking Mixed Media Tutorial With Irit

Hi! Irit here and I'm so excited to share this layout I created using some gorgeous Shimmerz goodies! Here's my finished layout-

I started with a floral silk screen by Heidi Swapp and my favorite product these days (it's a tough choice!)- some shimmery yummy Dazzlers paste in Coral Me Crazy. It worked so beautifully! Look at the detail you get-

Once the paste was dry I added some watercolors. I used Inklingz in Beets Me (gorgeous shimmery cool pink), and Creameez in Daffodil (lovely yellow), Berry Hot (a brighter cool pink) and Trippin in the Tropics (love this color! It's a pinkish warm red). I applied a couple of layers and also some splatters.
Once these were dry I decided the layout needed some more color, so I used Coloringz in No Yolking (no shimmer bright yellow), Pink Stilettos (hot pink) and Vibez in Mango Tango (again that lovely color, similar to Trippin in the Tropics, it's a warm pinkish orangy red) to amplify the color a bit.

And my background is done! I used papers and die cuts from the new Dear Lizzy Collection called Documentary. The colors I chose coordinate perfectly with the collection!

Here's a video tutorial that shows exactly how I created this layout-

Memory - A romantic layout with Karine

Hi,

I'm sharing today a layout made with products from Shimmerz Paints.

On a Lemoncraft paper previously covered with clear gesso, I applied modeling paste through a stencil. Then, I used two Spritz to add some color to my background: Ruby and Cotton Candy. Next, I stamped and glued my papers and embellishments.

Once everything was glued down, I thought it missed colors, so I grabbed my Inklingz Miner Miner, Sheer Bliss, Beets Me and First Blush, as well as my Creameez Piggy Pink and Berry Hot. I added touches of those colors around my embellishments. I also added a few touches ON some embellishments. You can see an example on my canevas heart from Scrap, Fimo et cie on the picture above.

I made a few drops with my Inklingz and a paint brush.

To make my words stickers pop, I used a touch of pink.
