Colorful Autumn | Audrey Yeager

Hello and happy fall!!  One of my most favorite things about living the the Northeastern US is the changing of the seasons.  Our autumns are full of vibrance and color, and I wanted to capture that on my page using my Shimmerz products!

I began by covering my background patterned paper with gesso.  Then I added tried out some yellows mists as a base including Spritz in Chickadee and Tuscan Sun.  Then to deepen the shade, I added a Vibez in Rolling in the Hay.

Using a burst pattern stencil, I then went over the yellow base with some oranges, greens, and red shades including Coloringz Mandarin Mai Tai, Vibez in Palm Reader, and a Spritz in Caribbean Sunset

To add some texture, I started with some Dazzlerz in Coral Me Crazy, and mixed in some Mandarin Mai Tai and Caribbean Sunset to make a brighter orange color.  I used a palette knife to spread it through the stencil. Finally, I added a few splatters of Coloringz in Moody Mauve.

For embellishments, I punched some leaves from colored papers, and backed a cut file for the title.  A few little clusters of some chipboard trees, some wood veneers, and journaling to top it all off!

You can watch the whole process below:

Thank you and happy fall!!

Upsidedown with Process Video | Niki Rowland

Hi there Shimmerz Fans, Niki here today with a layout I had so much fun creating. There is a process video for this layout too which can be viewed below.

I started off by putting beautiful stars all over my white background. I used Puttin' on the Glitz Dazzlers through one of the beautiful new Paige Evans Stencilz, 'Star Confetti'.

Once my stars were dry, I used three colours of Creameez and Inklingz to create the water colour strips. The colours I used are:
I used a wide paint brush to apply the paint. I added lots of water to make the paint colour run a little. Once dry I then added lots of splatters in the same colours.

When my background was dry, I then built the rest of the layout on top. I added various paper layers - trying not to cover up too much of my background! I also added some cute pom pom trim. I added my photo and lots of embellishments, mostly by Vicki Boutin Color Kaleidescope collection.

I then added my title. I used the Shimelle Sparkle City Thickers for See the World, but I stuck them first onto white cardstock. I then cut them out so there was a small white border around the words. I also added other Thickers for 'Upsidedown', which I actually placed upsidedown to mimic the subject of my photo! I doodled around some of the stars on the background and also around some of the paint splatters.

I hope you've enjoyed this layout today. There is a process video that you can view below.

'Be You' by Niki Rowland: Mixing Products

Hey there Shimmerz Fans! Niki here with you today with this layout that I made using lots of different Shimmerz products.

Firstly I was inspired by the a paper from one of the recent Pinkfresh collections and decided to use that as a base to my layout. I cut part of it out and then placed it onto a white background. My plan was to extend the coloured strips of paper with mixed media products.

I started off by using the packaging technique to apply Vibez in Pop Art Pink and Deep Blue Sea to the white background, as well as some Jilted Jade original Shimmerz. I kept testing out my paper against the background I was creating.

I then added different Dazzlers through stencils in similar colours, again extending the coloured areas. I used Dreamscicle, Sea U in the Mornin', and then I needed a rose gold colour which I didnt have in my stash, so I mixed Foiled Again, Gold Mine and Tutti Fruiti together to create this rose-gold. I then applied this through a stencil too. I then watered it down so that I could use it to add splatters.

Once my background was done and dry, I then added my photo, bits and pieces of ephemera and puffy stickers. I left no room for journaling so added that in right at the very top of the layout.

I hope you've enjoyed my layout today, there is a process video too that can be viewed below.

Mixed media album tutorial | Rocío López

Hi!!

Rocío here with my first blog post and process video for Shimmerz Paints as part of their YouTube Education Team. I can't beleive it yet! I am so happy to be in this amazing team and to have the opportunity to share with you projects using the freakin' awesome paints from Shimmerz!!

For my first project I've created a mixed media mini album from a little travel I made last summer. The vibrant colors of the paints are just perfect for any project but I think match perfectly with the hot and colors of summer time.

As you can see, I got so much fun with the cover and I recycled two pieces of cardboard from a box to create the front and back covers.

I removed the first layer of the cardboard to see the part with "waves" and then I applied a coat of gesso. After that, was the fun part, time to use the paints and create that colorfull front cover.

I use a few collections from Pretty Little Studio but I had to add a little bit of color in some papers.

I also love stamps so I used them with Shimmerz to create a beautiful and shimmery background in two pages.

The album has different sizes of pages, I think that makes it funnier. Also, I added a few pages using acetate as base.

To decorate the acetate pages I used Dazzlerz with stencils and I love the outcome! The texture is super smooth and easy to apply.

I have to tell you I had so much fun creating the page you can see above and, actually, this was the first page I made for the album, using a thin washi tape to create the geometric design.

One technique I adore so much is to use a straw and blowing through it to create a background easily but very pretty and funny. This is one of my favorite pages!

And I would love to show you all the pages but, I think that will be the never ending story, so I let you with the process video and you can see the entire mini album in it.

SUPPLIES

VIBEZ: Deep Blue Sea, Rose Gold Red.
SHIMMERZ: Magenta, Sunny, Evergreen, Peacock's Plume.
INKLINGZ: Lover's lips, Green Goddess.
DAZZLERZS: Lemon Drop, Tuti Frutti, Sea U in the mornin'

Thank you so much for stopping by!

The Secret to Having it all - a journal spread with Astrid

Hello all and thanks for dropping by here today. I have a quick journal spread to share with you.
I wanted to have a play with some Dazzlerz, these are the products I used:
Dazzlers Sea You in the Mornin and Gummy Berry Blue
Texturez Teal Me No Lies
Vibez: Egg Noggin, Palm Reader  Chance of Rain
Like usual I started with the background and brayered on the two colours of Dazzlers, I then used a stencil and some texturez and the sprays. This is what it looked like:

To be honest, I did not like it much, so decided to cover most of it up. It will never be a favourite, but you live and learn right?.... Anyway I used one of the wonderful Staks quotes you will find them in the Pickpocket Staks. I coloured them with a few spritzes of Eggnoggin and coloured pencils. Cut it apart and adhered them to my spread together with a vintage photo mounted on a piece of scrapbook paper and a few fussy cut butterflies. And that was it. Below a few close ups still:

Have a good one my friends, hope the sun shines on you and enjoy those Shimmerz paints. Until next time....

A very Special Occasion a project by Astrid

Hello all and welcome to the blog today. I have a card to share with you today, made for a very special occasion. You can read about it all HERE, and I really hope you will!!!

Anyway, here is my card.
Recently I had the idea to try and see whether Shimmerz paints would work on a Gelli plate, and I am very happy to say they do!! The background to this card was created on a the small 6 x 6 Geli plate.
I started by brayering some Teal Me No Lies Texturez and then I mixed in some Dazzler in Spun Sugar.
I pulled my print and the result was a beautifully textured shimmering blue. I lay a Prima stencil over the top and gave it a couple of sprays of Vibez Don't Rain on My Parade and voila the result was the background above.
I cut a tag from a piece of Pion paper, Inked around the edges with some Distress Inks, gave a a few spritzes of Spritz in Rock-a -Fella Blue for some subtle shimmer, stamped my dandylions and then put it all together on my card. Below are a few close ups still.

Sentiment stamped, fussy cut and adhered with foam tape.

Butterfly stamped in Hydrangea Archival and coloured with the Rock-a-Fella Spritz.
Well, that's it for today. I hope you will check out the link at the top to see who the card is for, and it would be awesome if you made a card for this girl too.

Thanks for your visit like always

Dazzling Fun with Beck BT

Hey there it's Beck BT here today to share with you a fun couple of cards I made using the yummy Shimmerz Dazzlers pastes.  I just love how fun and easy these cards were to make so I thought I would share with you a little tutorial to go with it!

For the first card you need to lay your desired stencil over your white cardstock.  I used Fun Stampers Journey stencil for my background stencilling.  Then using each of the three Dazzlers pastes, spread them as shown below. Carefully lift and you are left with the most gorgeous creamy shimmery background.

I simply added my sentiment which is from the RG Make Amazing Collection stamped with StazOn onto some clear acetate and then cut out.  Adhere to the paste gently while still wet to save on having to glue it.   Finish off with some matching enamel does and adhered to a card base with one of the papers from the Make Amazing collection of ombre black and grey a perfect contrast to the colourful cardfront.

Working fairly quickly I took my stencil that still had some paste on it and flipped it over to add the pattern to another piece of white cardstock.  Using a breyer I applied some pressure then gently lifted the stencil

Finished off with the same stamped sentiment and enamel dots.  Again added to a card base with one of the papers from the Make Amazing collection of ombre black and grey.

For my cards today I used the follwoing Shimmerz products:

Shimmerz Dazzlers Lemon Drop
Coral Me Crazy
Sea U in the Mornin'

Thanks so much for heading over to the blog today to check out my project!  I hope I've inspired you and shown you how lovely a little Shimmerz Paints can easily create amazing cards!

Till next time
xxxBeck BT
