Fabulous | Jen McMurtrey

Hello Shimmerz friends!

It's Jen today with a new project using the new, exclusive Shimmerz Layered Hibiscus Flower cut file and the following Creameez.

To complete this project, I paired the beautiful Shimmerz Paints with patterned paper from Prima and Pinkfresh Studio embellishments.

After cutting the Layered Hibiscus Flower cut file several times, I used the "smooshing" method to apply each of the Creameez colors.

Each of the flowers has a unique look that I love.

I finished by adding embellishments, a title, and a bit of journaling under the photo.

Here's one more look at the finished layout.

Taming the Terrible Twos Layout | Katty Miranda

Hello everyone! Happy Superbowl Sunday Katty here! I hope you are all having a wonderful day!
I am back today to share another 12x12 layout.

Today I will be working with the new Paste-eez, these are the smooth dimensional pastes with a flat finish that we released last month. They are so fun to play with. I used two colors on this layout, Raspberry Sherbert and Hold the Mustard. I used them through a Prima Stencil. I layered the stenciled Paste-eez and some scallop shaped patterned papers on the bottom half of my layout.

The top portion was plain white. I wanted to add some color so I used a Coloringz in Oh say can you Sea with the same stencil. I also scattered around a few small flowers that I had cut out with my Silhouette Cameo. I colored them with a Coloringz in Mandarin Mai Tai and a Creameez in Berry Hot. I colored the rest with some gold paint from my stash.

I added block enamel dots to the flowers I scattered around and added a couple of simple embellishments. I created a long tittle mixing a few different fonts in coordinating colors, this is something I love to do.
This was a lot of fun to create. I'm really glad I decided to add the teal.
There is a process video on my YouTube channel if you'd like to watch.

Products used:
Coloringz: Mandarin Mai Tai, Oh Say can you Sea
Paste-eez: Raspberry Sherbert, Hold the Mustard
Creameez: Berry Hot

Hi Shimmerz fans! Amy Prior back with you all again today to share a couple of off the page projects that I have created recently using lots of gorgeous Shimmerz Paint Products! Need to stock up on your fave Shimmerz? Don't forget you can click here to visit the Shimmerz online Retail store and don't forget to include my name (Amy Prior) in the comments to merchant section during checkout in Paypal to earn a free gift woohoo!

First up today, I have a paint palette that I have decorated to simply hang up in my art studio. Having lots of fun arty projects around my art studio really helps me get my mojo flowing.

To start I have simply painted the wooden palette with some Black Crackle Paint and Black Gesso. I added both so I would have some interesting crackle texture added to the woodgrain. When this was dry, I have adhered a Blue Fern Studios Chipboard Circle Frame around the edges before painting the entire surface with Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Licorice Stick. I have added the Dazzlerz using a pouncing move with my paint brush to ensure the little cracks and crevasses from my chipboard were all covered in the Black. This also helped cover any glue that had oozed in my attempts of adhering the delicate chipboard around.

When the black was completely dry, I have added some dollops of Shimmerz Dazzlerz and texturez paints. I wanted to create the illusion of a paint palette filled with a rainbow of paints ready to create a masterpiece. I just love the variety of colours in the Shimmerz paint ranges and was a little sad that I could not fit all the colours that I wanted to fit in my rainbow hehe. I will have to try find a bigger palette next time.

I have then added some Prima Marketing 3D letters spelling out Create. When the paint blobs were dry, and these took a couple of days to dry completely, I have sprayed some Shimmerz paint sprays to add more colour and glimmer around the blobs of paint as well as to colour the white threaded letters in the centre. The white was a great contrast against the black but I didn't want the focus to be just on the word Create. Plus we can never get enough colour and shimmer am I right? When all the Shimmery goodness was completely dry, I have added lots of gorgeous flowers to finish off the project because I am just a sucker when it comes to flowers, flowers and more flowers.

Next up I have a canvas that I have decorated to share with you all. This fun canvas is going to hang in my house somewhere to hopefully remind myself and my children about this important scripture.

To create this canvas, I have added some stencilling to the background using a Crafters Workshop stencil along with some Shimmerz Texturez paint in Tidy Widy color. Being super impatient, I have dried the Texturez with my heat tool and created a fun bubbled texture in the Texturez. When the Texturez was dry, I have added lots of Shimmerz paint sprays, Shimmerz, and Inklingz to the background in various shades of Teal, Pink and brown. I have let this dry overnight to see how the colours would settle on their own.

Next I have added some Shimmerz Inklingz in Burnished Buckle color to the raised texture areas on the background to try create some more shadows amongst the bubbled texture. I added a bit of water to ensure the Inklingz was dripping down into the cracks etc and not just sitting on the surface. The next step was to brush a Brown Archival Ink pad over the top of the texture and then the same again with some Black Stazon Ink. With my Shimmerz Inklingz still out, I have painted the Prima Marketing Threaded Letters so they are dry and ready to be mounted on the canvas when ready.

Next I have added some Shimmerz Coloringz and Spritz sprays to some Blue Fern Studios Chipboard as well as adding some more stencilling to the background, this time using Shimmerz Texturez in Crushed Coral. I have again, heat-dried the Shimmerz Texturez before adding some Brown and Black ink rubbed over the top. The final step was to add some flowers, letter stickers and other embellishments. The flowers etc looked way too clean for my messed up grungey background so I have finished off the canvas by spraying the entire thing with Shimmerz sprays in various brown colours. This helped tie the whole project together perfectly and gave everything a perfect shimmery finish.

Shimmerz Paint Products used for these projects include...

Create Life Moments with Amy Prior

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back with you all today to share another couple of projects using lots of gorgeous Shimmerz Paint Products. Don't forget that you can purchase direct from Shimmerz paint store by clicking here.

First up today I have a scrapbook layout that I have completed in a very Ocean Blue and Aqua Green Tone. Aren't these colours just divine? Of course the layout looked dull without the additional Shimmerz paint goodness.

To start this layout off, I have added some stencilling on the Prima Marketing background paper using a new release Prima stencil and some Shimmerz Barely Blue Dazzlerz paint. I have simply scraped the dazzlerz over the stencil using my palette knife and then quickly removed my stencil and cleaned it well. Once the stencil was clean, I had to act quick to ensure the Dazzlerz wasn't dry yet, so I could sprinkle some Prima Micro Beads over the top to give that stencilling even more fun texture.

When the Dazzlerz was dry on my background, I decided that I wanted to rip lots of paper chunks out of the background, so I decided to choose a paper that coordinated well with the layout, and then began to rip sections. Because I added the stencilling in a diamond shape rather than square, I have used the stencilling as a guide for my ripping and tearing. I just love this effect, it turned out really cool but I went a little bit overboard and ripped a little too much for my liking so I added some lace under the middle layer before adhering everything back together. I have to say I love the lace more anyway. Like I am always telling people, majority of my greatest ideas are usually total mistakes that I just roll with LOL.

Next up I have added lots of beautiful colour to the background using Shimmerz paints. Firstly I have covered the background with water before adding Shimmerz Creameez in Ride the Tide, Shimmerz Vibez in Jeni B Bleu, Shimmerz Coloringz in Say Can You Sea, Heidi Ho Blue & Keep Palm, plus a touch of Shimmerz Spritz in 4 Leaf Clover. Lots of gorgeous Shimmery goodness covering this background!

The next project that I have to share with you all is a 12x12 Art Journal Album cover. I have had this art journal for a while now and just never got around to playing in it but I really don't know why as it was handmade and is full of the most gorgeous Watercolor Paper! So I have pulled the album apart and started decorating the front cover initially.

Everytime I draw something on a cover, I am never happy with it so I decided to add a gorgeous Bloom Girl thanks to Jamie Dougherty's Bloom Girl Stencils. I added the stencilling in using some Bead Gel as I really wanted to add lots of texture and depth to the picture although I really do not recommend trying to use bead gel through such an intricate stencil, trust me LOL. When the Bead Gel was dry, I have covered the entire cover and stencilling with a very thin layer of Gesso to prime before adding some White Crackle Paint randomly all over the place.

I have coloured the Bloom girl in, when the crackle paint was dry, using some Prima Watercolor Pencils. I just adore using watercolor pencils for colouring and you can get such beautiful effects when using them. When I was happy with the watercolor face and hair, I have added some detail using black and white pens. Now that she was all coloured in, I have added some patterned paper and embellishments before adding the final details to everything.

The final step was to add lots of gorgeous Shimmery detail. Firstly, I wasn't really happy with my options of flower colours from my stash so I have sprayed all the flower clusters to coat, firstly with Shimmerz Spritz Treasured Hymn, and secondly with some Shimmerz Shimmeringz in Goldie Lox to give a nice shimmer of gold to go alongside the brown. Next up I have decorated the White letters that spelt Create. I have done this using Shimmerz Spritz in Bed of Roses & Treasured Hymn. I wasn't too happy with the white crackle background being so stark white, so I have added some Shimmerz Coloringz in Don't Be Suede using a paint brush just to the crackled white areas. I have added enough so that the colour soaked into the cracks and then I have rubbed off any excess brown that was a bit too dark, using a baby wipe. Finally I have added some little shimmery details here and there using Shimmerz Shimmeringz in Goldie Lox and Bronzed Bombshell.

My Happy Place Journal Cover with Amy Prior

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back with you all again today to share a recent journal cover that I have decorated using tonnes of Shimmerz gorgeous paint products.

This Canvas journal comes raw and is an oldie from Prima Marketing. To start off the process of painting, I have sprayed the entire cover with water to help me avoid wasting too much paint. The whole journal comes apart so I could lay the journal cover flat which was a plus. With the cover nice and saturated, I have started blobbing random Shimmerz paints over the background using Magenta, Sunny & Tickle Me Turquoise. I have let the colours mix a little on the background to create green, orange and purple tones but I have dried it quickly using my heat gun to avoid too much mixing which would have created mud brown.

Next up I have added the stencilling using Shimmerz Tidy Widy Texturez paste through a Dina Wakely stencil. When the texturez paint was drying, I have started to paint my Blue Fern Studio Chipboard piece using various Shimmerz Inklingz colours as well as various Dazzlerz for added texture. The chipboard title was painted simply with some Spun Sugar Shimmerz Dazzlerz also.

The next process for this journal cover was to simply adhere it all together. I have added the chipboard circle first before adding my string pearls and metal trinkets. Next step was to add some Lace to the top and bottom followed by lots and lots of flowers because well I just never get enough flowers. Finally I have added some Jamie Dougherty arty chipboard stickers plus some Shimmerz Texturez paint to the tips of my flower petals. All that was left to do was put the journal back together and fill the interior. Stay tuned for the inside details another day.

Shimmerz paint products used include...
Shimmerz in Magenta, Sunny & Tickle Me Turquoise,
Dazzlerz in Gummy Berry Blue, Sour Apple, Jelly Bean Green, Lemon Drop, Spun Sugar,
Inklingz in Blue My Mind, Me and Blue, Meet Me @ Sunset, Giddy About Green & Beets Me

Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

Beautiful Shimmery Goodness with Amy Prior

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back again with you all today to share a recent scrapbooking layout featuring tonnes of gorgeous Shimmerz products. I seriously cannot get enough Shimmerz Inklingz at the moment eeekk they are so divine and so lush to play with. Don't forget to checkout the new colors that have just been released in the Shimmerz shop here.

For this layout I have used Shimmerz Inklingz in Sun Kissed, Beets Me, Blue My Mind & French Twist on my background white cardstock. This gorgeous effect is easily achieved by wetting your cardstock with water and layering splodges of the inklingz down 1 color at a time, starting with the lightest color first.

When creating the background, to avoid muddying up the colors, I have dried each color before adding a new color. This ensures that there is minimal color mixing. I have then added random gold grid sticker pieces over the shimmery background to add some more texture to it.

The Blue Fern Studio Chipboard title has then been covered with a nice thick and chunky coat of Brick Wall Shimmerz Texturez Paint and followed with a spray of  Shimmerz Plum Pudding Spritz spray to get a multi toned color on the title.

The gorgeous papers that I have used for this layout are from Authentique, definately a new favorite collection of mine, and they have worked beautifully alongside some Scrappers Garden, Prima & Petaloo flowers.
