It's Katie here today sharing an altered project I've done in the nick of time for this Christmas. Freshly baked from oven and pipping hot!!!

Wanted a vintage rustic feel and decided to use some Texturez as my base and colour them over with layers of browns, and of course lots of gold and ivory Inklingz. Just can't do without some touch of gold.

I hope this will provide some warm for this Christmas! Merry Christmas!!!

Katie here sharing another altered mobile case project. This time round, it's a dance theme. Filled with musical notes and contemporary dancers on the background, I created a nice gradual blue before fitting in the main message at the center of the mobile case.

The Mermaid Museum

Katie here today sharing one of my major themed projects, which took me weeks to complete... Presenting here The Mermaid Museum showcasing the marine and human life of The Mermaid... A full archaeological story and theory behind how this museum came about can be found here...

I'm using generous amount of Shimmerz goodies here to create the entire museum including altering the various chippies and the mermaid tail which I sculpted from scratch using polymer clay... The Texturez is particularly useful in creating textured look and it works so well for this mermaid theme...

A Little Candy World

Katie here today sharing one of my sweetest artworks - a little Candy World... Deeply inspired by the fable Hansel and Gretel's candy house... Instead of building a candy house, I decided to create a candy world instead with a candy house sitting on top of a mountain of candy floss...

Using a ceramic watering can, I altered and build the candy floss mountain from scratch using generous amount of Shimmerz paints... I hereby extend my cutest welcome to everyone to enter into my little Candy World...

Steampunky Altered Mobile Case

Hi Shimmerz Peeps,

It's Katie here today sharing this altered Steampunky mobile case... I had this pretty worn out case and I decided to revamp it into a style that I always love - Steampunk...

I used various Steampunk chippes for this assemblage and focus a tarnish gold on a black background to give a "heavy metal" look... After I'm done altering, in order to seal in the colors and make it a usable case, I spray a layer of acrylic over the entire case and layer with PU varnish as a protective waterproof coat...

I hope this can serve as an upcycling idea...

Sweet Pink Altered Wodden Peg

Hi Shimmerz Peeps,

Katie here sharing another altered project; a big wooden peg...

I bought this peg (not the largest I can find) at one of my local craft store and I've been thinking of doing one many years ago and never attempted one... Finally I attempted and this is what I've created... Added some flourish texture over the peg and blend the colours to give a vintage shabby look... Though the flowers are off-white, I just altered all of them to make them blend together...

This peg will be one piece that I'm going to use it to hold some of my cards or photos...

Tibetan Poppy Altered Vase

Hi Shimmerz Peeps,

I'm back with another altered project... Can't resist the beauty of colours and I absolutely love playing with colours... This speaks why I'm so thrilled to be part of Shimmerz!!!

For today's blogpost, I'm sharing this completely transformed vintage milk vase using Tibetan Poppy as my main element and colour scheme... I wanted to preserve the vintage feel yet with a little Renaissance touch, hence I'm using contrasting colours with a touch of white by using some white feathers and twine to soften down the colours...

It's one such house decor piece and you will be surprise how intense the colours Shimmerz is able to give... I hope this will give you an idea how to alter pieces using Shimmerz... A more elaborate idea in how I came up with this piece is explain in my blog here...
