Love | Jen McMurtrey

Hello Shimmerz friends!

It's Jen today with a quick project featuring a few of my favorite Shimmerz Paints.

Here's a look at the finished project.

To begin this project, I used a Paige Evans cut file with white cardstock. Once it was cut, I used each of the three Shimmerz colors to spray the cardstock as well as splatter the background paper (Crate Paper's Magical Forest).

After the paint had dried, I backed my photo with patterned paper and adhered it with foam squares.

I love this sweet photo of my son and his girlfriend that they took while on a camping trip to
Mt. Rainer.

This project came together in under an hour, which is a miracle for me. LOL!

Valentine Stash Busting | Jen McMurtrey

Hey Shimmerz friends!

It's Jen today with a sweet Valentine layout using beautiful, vibrant Shimmerz Paints with loads of product from my stash.

For this project, I used the exclusive Valentine Cut File included with the February Color Kitz and the following paints.

This layout began by my digging deep in the recesses of my crafty stash - I used a piece of Cosmo Cricket resist mixed media paper along with various Crate Paper collections. It is my goal this year to make a dent in what I have and use the beautiful products I love so much.

The Cosmo Cricket resist paper has tiny hearts all over it, which is perfect for Valentine's Day. Using each of the Shimmerz Paints from above, I began creating the background. After letting it dry overnight, I added the Creameez Boogie Boarding Blue over the pinks to add a bit of contrast.

Next, I tore a piece of white cardstock and layered it over the background - I love the stark contrast.

Embellishments were next, and I went to work layering die cuts, stickers, and patterned papers on the page. Additionally, I cut several hearts from the Valentine Cut File and painted them using the same colors. These are tucked in all over the layout.

I used a simple title in black to match the photos and placed some neutral embellishments on the project to anchor the bright colors.

With so much going on, I wanted to have balance and create a cohesive look.

Here's one last look at the finished layout - the bright colors with the textures are so pretty!

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to stop by Shimmerz Paints today and get those Valentine projects started. Remember to type JENNIFER in the comments at checkout for a fun freebie.

Merry and Bright | Jen McMurtrey

Hi Shimmerz friends!

It is officially my favorite time of year and I've begun documenting all the holiday things - even the cold, dreary weather. Today I'm sharing a project using the beautiful Gold Mine Shimmerz Texturez with this month's exclusive Paige Evans Snowflake Wreath cut file included with the November Color Kitz.

First, here's a look at my completed layout . . .

To get this look, I began by cutting two of the wreaths using white cardstock. With those done, I used a spatula to spread Gold Mine Texturez on one of the wreaths.

After the Texturez had dried (this does take a bit of time unless you use a heat tool), I began layering the plain and textured wreaths in the top corner of  the page. After they were positioned how I liked, I cut the edges off and set them aside to use later.

Using Crate Paper's Merry Days collection, I backed my photo with patterned papers and die cuts and adhered it all atop the wreath pieces with foam squares.

Next, I used the bits of wreaths I had left over and fussy cut individual snowflakes to use around the title and behind the photo.

Finally, I used a few more embellishments and black enamel dots to balance all of the white space. I love how this one turned out - it is simple but not all at the same time.

Thanks for stopping by today! If you haven't picked up the Texturez yet, but sure to stop by the Shimmerz shop - you won't be disappointed! Remember to type JENNIFER in the comments at checkout to receive a freebie with your order.

Have a great day!

A Special Delivery for Christmas | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Shimmerz Friends!

Welcome back for more colorful and painty inspiration!
Amanda here, and today I am sharing my take on the November Color Challenge.
This month's challenge has a Winter Wonderland theme to it - so it's all our fave icicle colors and shimmering delights!
My color of choice is the gorgeous Texturez: Patina color, and here's why.......

"Merry Christmas"

Oh.my.heart! Isn't this just divine?!!
Meet out special delivery, ( and a lil early) Christmas present - our new mini Dachshund puppy!
Isn't he just adorable?!! Puppy Love!
& talk about a one color wonder!
Texturez Patina is just sensational!!! A perfect color for all your Christmas creations!
I've applied it around the border of my white cardstock base, using a repeat snowflake pattern and palette knife. Once dry, I then add two larger snowflake stencils with the pretty light green Patina color. LOVE!!!

Texturez paints are just incredible!
They boast the sheen of our Dazzlerz paints with an added textural element.
Think Dazzlerz with a coarse, sand like substance within them.
So gritty, dimensional and WOW!
You can check out ALL the fabulous Texturez Colors HERE

Let's take a closer look at that amazing Patina color.....

So.much.gorgeousness!!!
I've teamed our pretty mint Patina with Crate Paper's Fa La La collection, and let's just say, it's a match made in heaven!
I just adore the fresh mint, white and red color scheme! Beautiful!

Just look at all that dimension! Stunning!

That grittyness is a texture lover's dream!
And the color intensity is all kinds of awesomeness! So vibrant!

We're All About The Color, and Texturez Patina is all that and more!
I hope I have inspired you to add this amazing color to your mixed media kit!

Taming the Terrible Twos Layout | Katty Miranda

Hello everyone! Happy Superbowl Sunday Katty here! I hope you are all having a wonderful day!
I am back today to share another 12x12 layout.

Today I will be working with the new Paste-eez, these are the smooth dimensional pastes with a flat finish that we released last month. They are so fun to play with. I used two colors on this layout, Raspberry Sherbert and Hold the Mustard. I used them through a Prima Stencil. I layered the stenciled Paste-eez and some scallop shaped patterned papers on the bottom half of my layout.

The top portion was plain white. I wanted to add some color so I used a Coloringz in Oh say can you Sea with the same stencil. I also scattered around a few small flowers that I had cut out with my Silhouette Cameo. I colored them with a Coloringz in Mandarin Mai Tai and a Creameez in Berry Hot. I colored the rest with some gold paint from my stash.

I added block enamel dots to the flowers I scattered around and added a couple of simple embellishments. I created a long tittle mixing a few different fonts in coordinating colors, this is something I love to do.
This was a lot of fun to create. I'm really glad I decided to add the teal.
There is a process video on my YouTube channel if you'd like to watch.
