Create Love with Amy Prior

Hi Shimmerz fans! Amy Prior back with you all again today to share a couple of off the page projects that I have created recently using lots of gorgeous Shimmerz Paint Products! Need to stock up on your fave Shimmerz? Don't forget you can click here to visit the Shimmerz online Retail store and don't forget to include my name (Amy Prior) in the comments to merchant section during checkout in Paypal to earn a free gift woohoo!

First up today, I have a paint palette that I have decorated to simply hang up in my art studio. Having lots of fun arty projects around my art studio really helps me get my mojo flowing.

To start I have simply painted the wooden palette with some Black Crackle Paint and Black Gesso. I added both so I would have some interesting crackle texture added to the woodgrain. When this was dry, I have adhered a Blue Fern Studios Chipboard Circle Frame around the edges before painting the entire surface with Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Licorice Stick. I have added the Dazzlerz using a pouncing move with my paint brush to ensure the little cracks and crevasses from my chipboard were all covered in the Black. This also helped cover any glue that had oozed in my attempts of adhering the delicate chipboard around.

When the black was completely dry, I have added some dollops of Shimmerz Dazzlerz and texturez paints. I wanted to create the illusion of a paint palette filled with a rainbow of paints ready to create a masterpiece. I just love the variety of colours in the Shimmerz paint ranges and was a little sad that I could not fit all the colours that I wanted to fit in my rainbow hehe. I will have to try find a bigger palette next time.

I have then added some Prima Marketing 3D letters spelling out Create. When the paint blobs were dry, and these took a couple of days to dry completely, I have sprayed some Shimmerz paint sprays to add more colour and glimmer around the blobs of paint as well as to colour the white threaded letters in the centre. The white was a great contrast against the black but I didn't want the focus to be just on the word Create. Plus we can never get enough colour and shimmer am I right? When all the Shimmery goodness was completely dry, I have added lots of gorgeous flowers to finish off the project because I am just a sucker when it comes to flowers, flowers and more flowers.

Next up I have a canvas that I have decorated to share with you all. This fun canvas is going to hang in my house somewhere to hopefully remind myself and my children about this important scripture.

To create this canvas, I have added some stencilling to the background using a Crafters Workshop stencil along with some Shimmerz Texturez paint in Tidy Widy color. Being super impatient, I have dried the Texturez with my heat tool and created a fun bubbled texture in the Texturez. When the Texturez was dry, I have added lots of Shimmerz paint sprays, Shimmerz, and Inklingz to the background in various shades of Teal, Pink and brown. I have let this dry overnight to see how the colours would settle on their own.

Next I have added some Shimmerz Inklingz in Burnished Buckle color to the raised texture areas on the background to try create some more shadows amongst the bubbled texture. I added a bit of water to ensure the Inklingz was dripping down into the cracks etc and not just sitting on the surface. The next step was to brush a Brown Archival Ink pad over the top of the texture and then the same again with some Black Stazon Ink. With my Shimmerz Inklingz still out, I have painted the Prima Marketing Threaded Letters so they are dry and ready to be mounted on the canvas when ready.

Next I have added some Shimmerz Coloringz and Spritz sprays to some Blue Fern Studios Chipboard as well as adding some more stencilling to the background, this time using Shimmerz Texturez in Crushed Coral. I have again, heat-dried the Shimmerz Texturez before adding some Brown and Black ink rubbed over the top. The final step was to add some flowers, letter stickers and other embellishments. The flowers etc looked way too clean for my messed up grungey background so I have finished off the canvas by spraying the entire thing with Shimmerz sprays in various brown colours. This helped tie the whole project together perfectly and gave everything a perfect shimmery finish.

Shimmerz Paint Products used for these projects include...

Don't forget you can click here to go shopping in the Shimmerz Paint Products retail store. Type my name, Amy Prior, in the comments to merchant section when checking out in Paypal to receive a free gift!

First up is a layout titled Delight. This layout started off as a white background. I have drawn some circles using a watercolour pencil, then added some Shimmerz Creameez and Inklingz around the circle, before adding more water and fading the circles out back to white.

This layout was so much fun to make and I just love the way it turned out. The gorgeous Shimmerz Creameez and Inklingz work so well together and the colours are so divine.

Next up is a layout titled Princess. For this layout, I have, again, started off with a white background. I have then added lots of water before adding some Shimmerz Creameez and Inklingz to the background water puddle.

When the background water puddle was dry, I have added some Shimmerz Texturez using a Crafters Workshop Stencil and a palette knife. Lastly I have added the Creameez and Inklingz that I have used on the background, to my Blue Fern Chipboard before adding some Glossy Accents to finish the chipboard off.

Finally I have a Kraft based layout to share that I have added lots of gorgeous Shimmerz paint in Sunny to the background. When the Shimmerz was dry, I have added some stencilling using a Crafters Workshop stencil and some Shimmerz Dazzlerz.

Lots of gorgeous paper layers and flowers finished off all these layouts beautifully. I think the Easter colours have been on my mind lately.

Shimmerz Paint Products used for these layouts include:
Shimmerz Inklingz in Beets Me, Me & Blue, Meet Me @ Sunset, Pink-a-Boo, Pugnacious Purple,

Going Cuckoo over the Catch of the Day with Amy Prior

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back with you all today sharing some inspiration using Shimmerz Paint Products. Don't forget that you can purchase Shimmerz direct by clicking here

Today I have a couple of projects to share with you. First up is this fun Cuckoo Clock featuring lots of gorgeous Shimmerz Inklingz as well as Blue Fern Studios and Prima Marketing goodies.

This cuckoo clock started off it's life as a Kaisercraft raw MDF Clock kit. I have actually had this clock in my stash for countless years and finally knew that I wanted to decorate it using the gorgeous Blue Fern Studios Montage Collection of papers.

I have painted all the pieces of the clock in Gesso, added the patterned paper to the backing piece, then stuck everything together. Next I have added some lace to various elements before painting some of the features using Shimmerz Inklingz in Beets Me, Meet Me @ Sunset and Me and Blue.

I have also painted the Blue Fern Studios Chipboard elements and some paper doilies using these gorgeous Shimmerz Inklings, my fave part about Inklingz is that there is no need to Gesso chipboard etc before applying as the colours are so gorgeous and vibrant and opaque.

Lots of beautiful flowers and shabby resin adorn the clock to finish it all off. You know I cannot help but add tonnes of flowers to everything LOL. The shabby resin birds were also given some colour using the Shimmerz Inklingz. Finally, to finish off the overall shabby look, I have added lots of Shimmerz Tidy Widy Texurez randomly on the petal tips of flowers and across the entire clock so it kinda looks like snow has fallen randomly.

Next up I have a quick layout to share with you all featuring my husband. Yes I do throw in a masculine layout once in a while hehehe. No flowers this time but I did add some greenery LOL.

To create this layout I have added lots of water to my black cardstock background, before adding lots of luscious Shimmerz Inklingz in Brass Knuckles and Miner Miner 49er colours into the pools of water that I created.

This is by far my favourite way of using the Shimmerz Inklingz. Letting the water pool together with the colour is a magical thing to watch and it dries in such beautiful puddles.

The rest of this layout simply includes lots of gorgeous layers of Prima Marketing papers and fussy cut elements. Of course, seen as I simply cannot help myself, I added some greenery instead of flowers but added lots of fussy cut butterflies as well. They totally are not girlie right? They might represent a fishing lure? LOL I will justify it to the bank.

Shimmerz Paint Products used on these projects include:
Beets Me Shimmerz Inklingz
Me and Blue Shimmerz Inklingz
Meet Me @ Sunset Shimmerz Inklingz
Brass Knuckles Shimmerz Inklingz
Miner Miner 49er Shimmerz Inklingz
Tidy Widy Shimmerz Texturez.

Well that is it from me today, hopefully I have inspired you all to get creative with your Shimmerz paint stash. Mixed Media Shimmery Scrapbooking Inspiration with Amy Prior

Hi everyone!!!  Amy Prior back with you all again today to share another 3 scrapbook layouts that I have created recently using lots of gorgeous Shimmerz paint products. Don't forget that you can purchase Shimmerz products direct by checking out our retail store here. If you are super inspired by my projects, feel free to use my name in the comments to merchant section when checking out using Paypal and you will receive a free gift with your order woohoo!

First up I have a scrapbook page to share with you with a very beachy theme. For this layout, I have started off with a white cardstock background that I have added some Shimmerz Gold Texturez paint using a fabulous Sunrays stencil. Once this was dry, I have used the gorgeous new Shimmerz Gold Tonez collection paints to add some gorgeous gold colour to my background. To create this effect, I have simply adding lots of sprays of water, followed by some sprays of the Egg Noggin & Glorious Day Vibez sprays, then some dribbles and drops of the Get Glowing Creameez & Miner Miner 49er Inklingz. These tonez colours just work so beautifully with each other to create added texture and illusion of more depth and shadow.

Next I have added some of the Shimmerz Ocean Tonez paint to some corrugated cardstock as well as some dribbles on my background. I waited for the gold to be completely dry before dribbling the blue paints as I did not want them to have a chance to mix and make green. Sometimes I just love when colours mix and create new colours but for this layout I just wanted to focus on the blues and gold colours to really bring that beachy feel to the layout.
The frame around the photograph is chipboard from Dusty Attic here in Australia and I have simply painted that with a good coating of the Miner Miner 49er Inklingz.

Here I have a very soft and delicate pastel layout to share using lots of gorgeous Shimmerz paints again but this time alongside some beautiful Prima Marketing papers and embellishments as well as Blue Fern Studios Chipboard. To start off this layout, the background was already very pretty and textured looking so I did not want to take away from the gorgeous design too much so I decided to simply smear some Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Tutti Frutti, Barely Blue & Patina over the background where I knew I was going to be placing my elements.

I have scraped these colours all at the same time and while they were still wet, I have sprinkled some gorgeous delicate little sequins over the top so I didn't have to worry about gluing them later on.
Next up I have painted the Blue Fern Studios frame using some Shimmerz Tidy Widy Texturez Paint. Ooh I just love the texture of the texturez paints they are just so fun to work with and still have that gorgeous  shimmery shine.

Finally I have a bright and bold layout created on a plain back surface again using lots of gorgeous Shimmerz paint products. For the background, I have added some Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Grape-Tastic using a sunbeam stencil and again I have added some sequins sprinkled over the top before the paint dried so that I didn't have to worry about gluing these later.

When the purple starburst was dry, I have added some more stencilling using some Shimmerz Texturez, this time in The Tide that Binds colour. This stencilling I have just done randomly all over the place but the main element of the stencil I have just kept in the 1 corner where I knew my photo was going to be placed. Lots of gorgeous bright elements on this layout using some of my all time favourite colours.

Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

My Happy Place Journal Cover with Amy Prior

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back with you all again today to share a recent journal cover that I have decorated using tonnes of Shimmerz gorgeous paint products.

This Canvas journal comes raw and is an oldie from Prima Marketing. To start off the process of painting, I have sprayed the entire cover with water to help me avoid wasting too much paint. The whole journal comes apart so I could lay the journal cover flat which was a plus. With the cover nice and saturated, I have started blobbing random Shimmerz paints over the background using Magenta, Sunny & Tickle Me Turquoise. I have let the colours mix a little on the background to create green, orange and purple tones but I have dried it quickly using my heat gun to avoid too much mixing which would have created mud brown.

Next up I have added the stencilling using Shimmerz Tidy Widy Texturez paste through a Dina Wakely stencil. When the texturez paint was drying, I have started to paint my Blue Fern Studio Chipboard piece using various Shimmerz Inklingz colours as well as various Dazzlerz for added texture. The chipboard title was painted simply with some Spun Sugar Shimmerz Dazzlerz also.

The next process for this journal cover was to simply adhere it all together. I have added the chipboard circle first before adding my string pearls and metal trinkets. Next step was to add some Lace to the top and bottom followed by lots and lots of flowers because well I just never get enough flowers. Finally I have added some Jamie Dougherty arty chipboard stickers plus some Shimmerz Texturez paint to the tips of my flower petals. All that was left to do was put the journal back together and fill the interior. Stay tuned for the inside details another day.

Shimmerz paint products used include...
Shimmerz in Magenta, Sunny & Tickle Me Turquoise,
Dazzlerz in Gummy Berry Blue, Sour Apple, Jelly Bean Green, Lemon Drop, Spun Sugar,
Inklingz in Blue My Mind, Me and Blue, Meet Me @ Sunset, Giddy About Green & Beets Me

Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

Beautiful Shimmery Goodness with Amy Prior

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back again with you all today to share a recent scrapbooking layout featuring tonnes of gorgeous Shimmerz products. I seriously cannot get enough Shimmerz Inklingz at the moment eeekk they are so divine and so lush to play with. Don't forget to checkout the new colors that have just been released in the Shimmerz shop here.

For this layout I have used Shimmerz Inklingz in Sun Kissed, Beets Me, Blue My Mind & French Twist on my background white cardstock. This gorgeous effect is easily achieved by wetting your cardstock with water and layering splodges of the inklingz down 1 color at a time, starting with the lightest color first.

When creating the background, to avoid muddying up the colors, I have dried each color before adding a new color. This ensures that there is minimal color mixing. I have then added random gold grid sticker pieces over the shimmery background to add some more texture to it.

The Blue Fern Studio Chipboard title has then been covered with a nice thick and chunky coat of Brick Wall Shimmerz Texturez Paint and followed with a spray of  Shimmerz Plum Pudding Spritz spray to get a multi toned color on the title.

The gorgeous papers that I have used for this layout are from Authentique, definately a new favorite collection of mine, and they have worked beautifully alongside some Scrappers Garden, Prima & Petaloo flowers.
