Fall by Emilie Chamel

Hey friends! Emilie here today for an autumn-y layout as part of the Shimmerz Design Team. I am using the stunning November 2020 Color Kitz. which contains:

  • Misty Morning Inklingz
  • Don't Rain on My Parade Vibez
  • Precious Metal Shimmerz
  • *NEW EXCLUSIVE COLOR* Show Me the Honey Inkling
  • Going Peach Side Shimmerz
  • 1 exclusive "Thankful For Every Little Moment" cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 set of "Hello Fall" Dotz
  • 1 package of Pearl Embellishmentz

I decided to give the Shimmerz colors the main stage on my layout by creating a full background. It is very easy to reproduce! I divided my white cardstock in four and painted each square with Don't rain on my parade Vibez, Precious metal shimmerz, Show me the honey Inkling and going peach side Shimmerz. Once dry I added a few splatters of the same colors around.

I then layered several patterned papers, my photograph and loads of florals.

I ruffled a few threads to place under my layering and finished off with my title and the three Dotz which come with the kit.

Make sure you grab this gorgeous, November kit from the Shimmerz shop before they are gone and add my name "Emilie" in the comment section at checkout for a free surprise gift! See you soon!

Mandala colorful layout | Rocío López

Hi!!

Rocío here with another blog post and process video for Shimmerz Paints as part of their YouTube Education Team. For this publication I've created a scrapbook page or layout and I really love how it turn out.

As you can see, the background is super colorful and vibrant and this is what I wanted! To create it I've used several of my paints: Vibez, Spritz, Shimmerz and Inklingz having so much fun.  I just wanted to play and that is what I did.

I chose a white cardstock for my base page and I added a coat of gesso before apply the paints to protect the cardstock.

Yoy can see that the page have some wrinkles even with the gesso, that it's very difficult to avoid because the water moinstens the paper.

I used a mandala free cut file from Paper Issues and I cut it from white cardstock using my Silhouette machine to highlight from the background.

To add a couple of layers behind the picture I picked on the Graphic Love collection, from Gigi Et Moi. The rest of the decoration is also from this same collection.

I kept the decoration very simple, I just added a few banners, a flair button, some thread and a few more elements.

Now I leave you with the process video and you can see how easy it is to make.

Mixed media album tutorial | Rocío López

Hi!!

Rocío here with my first blog post and process video for Shimmerz Paints as part of their YouTube Education Team. I can't beleive it yet! I am so happy to be in this amazing team and to have the opportunity to share with you projects using the freakin' awesome paints from Shimmerz!!

For my first project I've created a mixed media mini album from a little travel I made last summer. The vibrant colors of the paints are just perfect for any project but I think match perfectly with the hot and colors of summer time.

As you can see, I got so much fun with the cover and I recycled two pieces of cardboard from a box to create the front and back covers.

I removed the first layer of the cardboard to see the part with "waves" and then I applied a coat of gesso. After that, was the fun part, time to use the paints and create that colorfull front cover.

I use a few collections from Pretty Little Studio but I had to add a little bit of color in some papers.

I also love stamps so I used them with Shimmerz to create a beautiful and shimmery background in two pages.

The album has different sizes of pages, I think that makes it funnier. Also, I added a few pages using acetate as base.

To decorate the acetate pages I used Dazzlerz with stencils and I love the outcome! The texture is super smooth and easy to apply.

I have to tell you I had so much fun creating the page you can see above and, actually, this was the first page I made for the album, using a thin washi tape to create the geometric design.

One technique I adore so much is to use a straw and blowing through it to create a background easily but very pretty and funny. This is one of my favorite pages!

And I would love to show you all the pages but, I think that will be the never ending story, so I let you with the process video and you can see the entire mini album in it.

SHIMMERZ: Magenta, Sunny, Evergreen, Peacock's Plume.
