Merry | Green, Orange, Gray Shimmerz Paints Products

 Hello Shimmerz Fans,

Today's layout features a play on words; basically I've used a Christmas-related word for a Summer themed layout. It's all explained down below; you can grab the Shimmerz Products I used HERE and watch the process video HERE.

I began by adding gesso to a sheet of white cardstock and selected my 3 main colors for mixed media, orange, green and gray, which pair well with the colors from the photos. In Shimmerz terms, these color were Freshly Squeezed, Carrot Top, Don't Citron Me, Honey Do List, Granny Gray, and Thunderstorm. I wanted to created a horizontal spread of colors so I held the base up in the air while spraying the three colors. While they were still wet, I tilted and turned the page every which way to that they would spread and blend a bit. Afterwards, some splatters of the same colors were added to their own section.

While the base was drying, I began to hand stitch the switchable Merry cutfile (grab it here) with some red thread; once done, I cut out the excess cardstock and popped it up on craft foam. I also backed my photos with red cardstock to match the cutfile. Now came the other fun part! I dove up my stash of embellishments for those that were orange, green and/or gray (mainly used those from Paige Evan's Bungalow Lane and Pebbles Kid At Heart collections. I assembled my layout like you see in the pictures and called it done! Through and through, it was a quick and easy layout to complete. Close-ups are done below!

That's it! Thank you so much for joining me today; I hope I've inspired you in some way to get your story documented. Be sure to use my name (LORIMAR) in the comments section of your next Shimmerz Order so you can receive a freebie!

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words | 12x12 layout featuring Jolly Green Giant and Rose Gold Red

Hello eveyone!
I've got my mind on Christmas, and Christmas on my mind! This joyous, festive season is fast approaching and we are all busy preparing for it. This layout is not the exception! To make it, I used traditional Christmas colors to document a non-Christmas memory.

This picture was taken earlier this month and I just had to document it ASAP! Used the colors within it as inspiration for the color scheme, and ended up using:

- Jolly Green Giant (Creameez) [From the November Color Kits]
- Honey Dew List (Creameez)
- Rose Gold Red (Vibez) [From the November Color Kits]

- Red Necking (Creameez)
- Before Dawn (Vibez)
- Miner, Miner 49er (Inklingz)

Chose a "texty" paper as my base and faded out 3 areas (1 main and 2 smaller clusters) with white acrylic paint. Once dry, I sued a baby bottle cap (LOL!) and Before Dawn to make 4 circles, and added some splatters with it. Then I used the packaging technique to add in Jolly Green Giant and Rose Gold Red, and then splattered them accordingly. Set my base aside and began working on my layers.

Trimmed my picture down to roughly 3x4, left a white border around it, and matted it with some red cardstock. Then began layering in patterned paper in blacks, reds and greens. For texture, I also layered in a small glassine bag. Added a strip of gold glitter cardstock in order to tie it in with the other gold elements that I would be adding to finish off the layout.

For embellishments, I clustered 2 different flowers from Vicki Boutin's Color Kaleidoscope and Wild Flower and Honey collections. Colored the leaves and centers of the flowers with Rose Gold Red, Jolly Green Giant, and Honey Dew List, and splattered Miner, Miner 49er on them.

Finally, once everything was dry, I built my layout. Added extra dimension to my main cluster by placing the paper layers on some 3D craft foam. Balanced out the layout by adding some torn scraps of patterned paper to the other 2 cluster areas. Layered in the flowers and, to wrap it all up, placed some tiny word stickers in black, glued some gold enamels dots, and splattered Miner, Miner 49er all around the finished layout.

Here are some extra close-ups!

Hope your inspired to use traditional Christmas color in a non-Christmas layout, and really challenge yourself.

Mental About Heath with Process Video | Niki Rowland

Hey everyone, this is Niki here today with a new layout, process video and a funny story. Sooooooo....it's Mental Health Day at school, and the children had to wear green to represent that. So my husband asks my 6 year old son why he is wearing green and Max explains that it's Mental Health Day. My Husband then asked Max what mental health is? To which Max responds with 'it's when you're MENTAL about health!' Needless to say we found this hilarious and I absolutely had to document this story.

So given the green theme, I had to make my background green of course. I have used four colours:

I applied these to my background using the packaging technique and lots of splatters.

I have also used the fabulous Cute Arrows cut file from the October Kitz. This cut file was designted by Paige Evans and I cut one large floral arrow from green patterned paper and two loopy arrows from a dark teal patterned paper. I backed the floral one on white card and used it as a layer under one of the words from my title. I stitched through on my sewing machine, the arrows and the words of my title.

I embellished the layout with pom pom trim and lots of little bits and pieces of ephemera, acrylics and stickers. Here's another look at the finished layout.

Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope you have enjoyed my layout. There is a process video for this one that you can view below.

Don't forget that if you place an order via the Shimmerz website then enter my name in the comments and you will receive a freebie!
Happy scrapping xxx

Lucky Girl Layout | Katty Miranda

Hello friends! Katty here to share another 12x12 layout with you all. I was inspired by a foral patterned paper from Photoplay. I will use several of the beautiful flowers which I fussy cut from this paper on my layout.

I started off with white cardstock. I arranged my four photos on a white 12x12 cardstock. The photos are of my adorable niece. We had a fun little photo shoot in my backyard. My niece loves posing for the camera. I used the beautiful Dazzlers in Tuti Frutti and Coral me Crazy through a Crafters Workshop stencil which has arrows on it. I added the arrows pointing to the photos.

I added the fussy cut flowers around my photos. I added a layer of patterned paper behind two sides of the photos, I also added a layer of paint to add some shading. I used the Creameez in Sky's the Limit. I added some splatters in this color as well.  I wanted to bring in some more purple so I added some doodlebug doilies in three areas.

For my tittle I added some Amy Tan Craft chipboard thickers. I added a coat of white gesso to them and painted them. The work "Lucky" I painted using an Inklingz in the Color Honey do List. The word "Girl" I colored using a mix of two Creameez, Sky's the Limit and Cheeky Pink.

I love how it turned out. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
There is a video on my channel if you'd like to watch:

Last minute Christmas cards with Beck BT

Hey everyone it's Beck BT here again to share some cards I recently made.  Have you been running around busy buying gifts, attending many festivities and possibly like me have a close birthday to celebrate adding to an already super busy time of year?  Well falling behind on making Christmas cards can easily happen - or simply there is someone you later realized you needed to make a card for.  Well today's cards are great examples to share with you for come quick and easy cards that look like you have spent lots of time making!

I made these cards using some yummy Shimmerz products that quickly transformed my plain background to a beautiful watercolour one.

Shimmerz Products Used:

Shimmerz Aqua Huez - Pot-O-Gold
Shimmerz Aqua Huez - Red Hot
Shimmerz Aqua Huez - Leapin' Lizard
Shimmerz Inklingz - Honey Do List

For my first card I used the Pot-O-Gold, Honey Do List and Red Hot Aqua Huez for a fun background.

I added the first two colours with a plastic transfer method.  This is where you add some colour to a little plastic and then stamp down onto the background multiple times after adding the colour.  I dried with my heat gun between layers.

I finished off by adding some splatter with my paint brush of the 'Red Hot' Aqua Huez.

Then using some printed die cuts and jewel embellishments the card quickly came together

For the next card I used the same plastic transfer technique to add color to the background using this time only the 'Red Hot' and 'Leapin' Lizard' colours

Again it came together easily with the help of some printed die cuts, jewel embellishments and silver cord.

Don't forget to mention my name when you order for some free product!  WOOT!

Till next time

Like what I have used and would like to get your hands on some?  See below:

Truly Grateful with Yoonsun

Hello crafty friends, Yoonsun is here! Today I have an autumn-themed card to share with you using some Inklingz shimmering watercolors. For today's card, I tried to stamp solid autumn leaf images instead of colouring.

To create the card:
1. Die cut a piece of watercolour paper using the A2 sized rectangle panel die.
2. Colour directly on the solid autumn leaf images from the Penny Black Nature's Gifts set using some Inklingz shimmering watercolors: Honey Do List, Olive U Truly, Mochachino, Can't Elope, She Packs a Punch, Naughty or Nice, and Dear John Letter.
3. Stamp the image on the watercolor paper panel. Allow this to dry completely.
4. Stamp the sentiment from the MFT Geometric Greenery set on the bottom half of the panel in black ink.
5. Mount the panel on A2 top folded white card base using double-sided tape.
6. Embellish with a few clear droplets.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!!

Hugs,
Yoonsun
