March 2025 Color Kitz | Spring Selfies Layout | Stephanie Dang

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and I'm back on the blog today to share my next layout using this month’s color kitz. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at https://www.instagram.com/paperandi/ and https://paperandi07.blogspot.com. Are you the family's unofficial designated photographer like I am? Chances are- you're never in a picture unless you're taking a selfie. :) You will find all supplies to recreate the layout at the bottom of my blog post.

Step 1: Start with the floral paper and prep with gesso around the center on the circle. Let dry.

Step 2: Using Peaches and Cream Shimmerz, mix with a brush, and apply with water on paper. Adding plenty of water and moving paper around to let that water slide naturally. Tap brush around layout to create splatters. Let dry.

Step 3: Fussy cut florals and clovers. Add to layout on left side in a shape of a little over half a circle. Add photo framed in white cardstock.

Step 4: Embellish page with banners, ephemeras, "selfie" dotz, butterfly, and title.

Step 5: Finish layout by adding Freshly Minted inklingz by using a brush with water. Mix that color, and add it to the minted clovers on page. Add some splatters.

Supplies:
• Shimmerz Paints MARCH 2025 Color Kitz,  Inklingz (Freshly Minted), Inklingz (Peaches and CReam), gesso, white cardstock, foam adhesive, sewing machine and thread, and regular adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed my project, and felt inspired to create this yourself by using the March 2025 Color Kitz. Christmas Cuties with Process Video | Niki Rowland

Hey everyone, Happy New Year! This is Niki back with a new layout to share. I'm still scrapping my Christmas photos and have created a wintery layout today. There is a process video for this layout at the bottom of this blog post.

I used a selection of Inklingz and Creameez to make the water colour background across the bottom of the layout. The colours I used are:

I used the packaging technique to add the colours and I also added lots of splatters!

I've also used a cut file by Paige Evans designed exclusively for Shimmerz Paints. It's the Snowflake Wreath that was in a past Kitz but it's now available on the website to purchase and download, yey! You can find it in the Cut Filez section. I cut it in glitter then cut apart the snowflakes and used them as embellishments.

I added my photo, title and embellishments across my mixed media section. I've used lots of cute tree embellishments, as well as gifts, houses, bows etc.

I finished off with lots of pretty sparkly sequins! Here's another look at the finished layout.

Thanks so much for joining me today. There's a process video for this layout that can be viewed below.

Being Invested with Process Video | Niki Rowland

Hi everyone, Niki here today with a new layout to share. I've used wide paint strokes to create the background for this layout.
I've used a mixture of Inklingz and Creameez and added a small amount of water to each colour. Once the paint had activated a bit I used a wide paintbrush and painted directly onto my white background.

The colours I've used are:
Honeymoon Inklingz
Teal the End of Time Shimmerz
Boogie Boardin’ Blue Creameez
Ride the Tide Creameez
Green Grass Inklingz
Freshly Minted Inklingz

Once the background stripes were dry, I then went back and added paint splatters over the top of each stripe. I did this colour-on-colour style.

I've used a mixture of different paper collections to create this layout, but mostly Crate Paper All Heart. Even though this collection was aimed towards girls, I found lots of things that were relevant to this story and worked really well.

I added machine stitching and also used tissue paper and tulle for extra texture. I fussy cut some stars and used an acrylic word for a title, as well as little alpha stickers too.

Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope you have enjoyed this layout. I have also put together a process video which you can view below.

Daisy Trouble, with process video | Niki Rowland

Hey Shimmerz Fans, Niki here today with a layout using one of Paige's adorable cut files from our recent Color Kitz. This one is called Sunshine and Clouds.

I cut the cut file from Vicki Boutin Patterned paper. I decided to use the negative and I cut a circle from white cardstock to piece the pieces back onto.

I carefully pieced all the pieces onto the white circle. I then added a watercolour background using my Shimmerz Paints. I have used a piece of Marshmallow cardstock for the background, mounted onto a patterned paper border.

I used:
Bahama Mama Inklingz
Coral Reef Inklingz
Freshly Minted Inklingz
Boogie Boardin' Blue Creameez.

I simply applied these using the packaging technique and I then added lots of splatters.

Once my cut file and background were complete I added my photos and lots of embellishments. I also added Daisy Trouble as my title, and journaled around the edge of the cut file to explain that title.

There is a process video for this layout which you can view below.

Don't forget that if you place an order via the Shimmerz website, put my name in the comments to get a freebie - happy days!

Baby it's Cold Outside | Niki Rowland

Hi Shimmerz Fans! Niki here today and I have a cold, wintery, icy layout to share today. I almost always put a border around the edge of my layouts but for this one I decided to stick to mostly white so I have a super white background to do justice to the snowy photo.

I started off by making a water color effect background. I did this by using the packaging technique. I applied light shades of blue, pink and yellow. The colours I've used are:

Once I had applied the paint to the background, I added splatters of the same colours to make my background a bit bigger and also to get some small dots of intense colour.

I then used a snowflake stencil and added white snowflakes using the very gorgeous Spun Sugar Dazzlerz.

I also mixed the same colours I used to create my water colour effect background, with Spun Sugar Dazzlerz, so that I had a texture paste in each of the same colours. I then pushed all the colours through a dotted stencil onto a separate piece of white card. I overlapped the colours in some places so that I got a two tone effect. Once dry I cut this into strips and used it as part of my photo cluster.

I built my photo cluster onto my mixed media background. I added tangles of silver thread and I used cute ice skates and mittens Perspextives by Bramble Fox. I also added a title 'Baby it's cold outside' Perspextive underneath my photo cluster.

Here's another look at the completed layout. I finished off with a few small embellishments  (oh and that massive blue arrow I've had for years!) and fussy cut some snowflakes from patterned papers. I added another small title using alphabet stickers and handwrote my journaling above it.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you've enjoyed my cold wintery layout...let's hope there is some warmer weather coming soon!

Happy scrapping and don't forget to enter my name in the comments of your next order and you will get a freebie! xxx

The Elf Made me Do It! | Niki Rowland

Hi Shimmerz fanz! Niki here today and I'm sharing a christmassy layout today. I created the background using a Silhouette cut file which I drew using the pen holder and a black sharpie pen. I usually use a sketch pen but the sketch pens are water based and therefore smudge when you try to paint within the lines. So I thought I'd try a Sharpie. It worked super well but probably has a bolder line than I would like. I'll have to do some research into other permanent pens that have a finer tip.

Once the cut file was drawn I used four colors of Shimmerz to paint within the lines:

The Creemeez Red Necking and Shimmerz Royal Red are pretty similar in colour but the Shimmerz has more shimmer. I love the Shimmerz water colors so much becuase they are already mixed and lovely and shimmery. I admit to not having many Creameez mainly becuase I prefer my paints to have lots of shimmer but I was pleasently surprised to find that the Creameez does shimmer a little bit. I like the consistency of the Creameez and Inklingz becuase the amount of liquid I add is up to me. If I add a lot of water then the paint is more fluid but if I only add a little then I have this really gorgeous thick paint that is very easy to control when painting within lines.

The light green colour is called Inklingz Freshly Minted and is such a pretty colour. Perhaps not traditional Christmas but I made it work lol. After my painting was done I then built the rest of my layout using papers and embellishments.

To finish off I also added lots of paint splatters under the photo and along the line of my embellishment/photo cluster. I added a few gorgeous Spiegelmom Scraps sequins too from the Holly Berries mix. I've used a mixture of scrapbooking collections: Pebbles Cozy & Bright and My Minds Eye Jingle All the Way mainly. I love how there are so many Shimmerz colours that there's never any problem coordinating with paper collections!

I loved making this Christmassy layout and using the very gorgeous Christmas Shimmerz colours! Happy scrapping and don't forget to put my name in the comments if you place an order to get a free gift xx

Poinsettia Christmas Card | Melinda

Hello crafty friends,
Melinda here with you today, sharing another card creation featuring the amazing Shimmerz Paints.
Shimmerz Paints Die Cut Stamp Card
My finished cardis a standard A2 top folding size. The base is plain white cardstock. In fact, everything started out with plain white cardstock! I cannot resist starting with plain white cardstock and watching what this amazing product range will do!

poinsettia cu
I created and cut my Poinsettia and border pieces.  I used Honeymoon Inklingz for the flower pieces and Freshly Minted Inklingz for the leaves. I really like the Inklingz range of products. They are so creamy and glide on the paper so smoothly. I added some pearls and a larger embellishment to the centers of my flowers.

flourishes
For the little swirls, I  added some Puttin’ On The Glitz Pasteez. It gives them a soft sparkle without looking too overdone. You can also see the background here. I started with plain white cardstock, ran it through my embossing machine with an embossing folder and then painted it with some Angel’s Kiss and  Misty Morning Inklingz. I then spritzed it with my Jeni B Bleu Vibez. Love all the shimmer and interest it has.

sentiment
Here’s a closer look at my sentiment. It comes from the new Love Never Melts Clear Stamp Set. I layered it onto my border.

small flowe cu
Here’s just another look at the flowers. I cut them in two sizes so I would have one larger flower as my focal point and then have a couple of smaller ones nestled by it.

bow cu
For a final touch, I added a bow from some of my seam binding ribbon. Seems these days all my cards have some of this….rofl!

Here is one last look at my completed card. I really like the way it turned out using some non-traditional Christmas colors!
