Creating Drama (the good kind) with Gabrielle!

So I printed off this dramatic gorgeous gown photo over a year ago (an image I got off of Pinterest) and had meant to do a page with rich colors and textures for quite some time now.  Finally got around to doing it (as I still had so much family pics to scrap!).  Sometimes it's fun to do a page 'just because', know what I mean?

These are the Shimmerz Paints products I used for this project....as you will see in the video tutorial, each of these products has it's own unique quality whether it be the smooth thick texture of the Dazzlerz, the deep rich tones in the Coloringz and Vibez or the incredible shimmer of the Inklingz.
NOTE:  You can purchase your Shimmerz Paints HERE.  Be sure to mention my name "Gabrielle" in the Instructions to Merchant part of your order to get your FREE/Bonus Shimmerz paint product in the color of your choice with your next Shimmerz Paints order!

As always, a project is not complete for me unless I have a nice selection of Dusty Attic Chipboard in them.  Above are the Dusty Attic Chipboard pieces I used for my project:  Ornamental Trim Set (brand new product), Word Pack #14, Lacey Heart Frame Set.....and I used a NEW Dusty Attic Stencil design called Fans.

So it's time to give yourself a little break, grab your favourite beverage and hope you enjoy watching my little video tutorial on how to make this page....Enjoy!

Hope you had fun watching my tutorial. Here are a few close-ups you can view at your leisure....

I should note that after I filmed my tutorial, I felt my design needed a little more color in the bottom right section so I added a couple more spritzes of paint and some swirls of fibre threads (from a package I got from my local dollar store).

I've had these Prima jewelled leaves sitting in my stash forever! When I was choosing my embellishing products I totally had to use these as I thought they were a good match for the colors I was using in the layout!

I'm really loving the new stencil designs from Dusty Attic, in the top right corner you can see some of the texture and design I got onto the page using the Fan stencil from Dusty Attic with my Homemade Texture Paste and some Shimmerz Paints sprays and Inkingz.

The pink and black butterflies were cut from one of my favorite Bo Bunny collections called Primrose (I used the paper called Bliss).  I also used a fun BoBunny Stamp on this page called 'Butterflies'.   TIP:  Many of you ask what to do when your paper buckles from wetting or spritzing your paper with paints and water.  One of my favorite things to do is use my hair flattening iron on the paper, its a quick and easy fix!

So I hope you enjoyed todays post and hope I've given you some inspiration to get out your scrapping/mixed media products and Shimmerz Paints and play!

Razzle Dazzle Berry Vibez is sprayed on the background then splattered. Then a small amount of licorice is lightly splattered on the background as well.
here's the layout.

making a happy place with inks+paint

I hope you are having a great warm week! It is freezing on the east coast, so I need to create something that made me warm and happy to push past the cold weather we are experiencing! :) Nothing can fix the cold weather blues quicker than playing with some paint and mist! :) Today is all about the ink layers! I love to mix colors that do not "match" on top of each other.

These colors remind me of summer and our vacation in AZ this year. Hope you are inspired to create with colors that may not normally use or do not match with your photos!

Nothing Like Family

I love to use masks to create misted backgrounds. Chipboard shapes or supply packaging are perfect tools to use when misting. I love creating with cardstock first and adding the layers of paint and ink!

My family is very important to me and I love this photo of me and my daughter Synai at the Grand Canyon this summer. I couldn't think of more perfect beautiful moment to share than with my family.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Love my Shimmerz!!

Good day ladies, by now I am sure you've figured out I love the paint splatter technique. It adds instant interest and artistic quality to any project.

Here I splattered Blue By You Pearlz, Sunset Strip Vibez, & Licorice Spritz on the background of my kraft paper.

On this layout I sprayed Sunset Strip Vibez on the background, and RazzleDazzle Berry Vibez on the kraft envelope, along with a little Licorice Spritz. My Prima flower was enhanced with RazzleDazzle Berry Vibez as well. And the tree on this layout cut from my cricut machine (stretch your imagination cartridge) and painted with Peas B Mine Pearlz. The color is amazing on this tree.

Happy Scrapping ladies!!

Pop Art Pink Vibez

What girl doesn't love Pink? I know I do and Pop Art Pink Vibez is a girly girls kinda pink. A soft beautiful pink with gold Shimmer. My BFF Myia M is one of the most girly girls I know she adores Shimmerz, as well as the color Pink. And what better way to celebrate the beauty of the color Pink than with a BFF layout.

The white Prima flower was sprayed with Pop Art Pink Vibez.

And splattered onto the background paper, along with Spritz in Licorice.

And here is the entire layout

Thanks for stopping by. Happy Scrapping!!

Shimmerz is like music...

Hi there ladies, I have two fun layouts to share with you today. First, this is my youngest daughter Bailey. I love the way her laughter sounds, and the joy it brings to my heart. She is full of life so I wanted this layout to be the same. What better way to bring a layout alive than with Shimmerz.

here I used Pixie Dust Blingz as a topping on my roses.

The Ranger Ink music note mask coupled with Sunset Strip Vibez created a fun background.

On this layout I splattered the yellow polka dot background with Shimmerz Spritz Licorice
this simple technique has a large impact on the feel of this layout.

As you can see it doesn't matter if you use our Shimmerz on most of your project or in a small way it makes a large impact. Happy Scrapping ladies!!

The men of our home

Hello ladies, I am loving SamRock Pearlz. So much I have already finished my first pot. Refill please!! :)

On this project I sprayed Licorice on my white background paper, and on my yellow border of the house to help tone down the colors.
I used some white scraps and punched a border for the roof of the house and painted it with SamRock to give a fun, unique look. I distressed it a bit using "This Studs 4 U" Pearlz
I spiced up a white Prima flower using "Sunny Side Up" pearlz. After embellishing my layout I added some fun coats of SamRock to my American Craft Thickers, and my Dear Lizzy tree. I love the depth, and shine it created. I hope this inspires you to add some shine to an unusal embellishment using Pearlz.

Happy Scrapping!!

Custom Match Those Chipboard Letters!

Recently I created the page using the darling paper line "Scooter's Vacation" by Imaginisce. I wanted to use gray letters for my title, but as you know, that is a color that you don't typically find in the letter sticker aisle. :)

Shimmerz Spritz to the rescue! I pulled out some older chipboard letters by Fancy Pants Designs and gave them a brand new, updated look using Licorice Spritz. I LOVE the way they came out!

In a Pinch?! Try Duplicating Your Embellishments Using It As A Mask with Vibez!

I used Shimmerz Licorice Spritz to give the silk butterfly and Canvas brads an aged look. When the brads had dried I pressed them into a stamp by Pink Paislee to add a bit of pattern to them. LOVE the way they turned out!

Supplies: Black Crystal Flourishes, Silk Butterfly, Silk Flowers, Felt Flowers, Crystal Brad, Canvas Brads, and Crystal flower center are all by Zva Creative . Patterned Papers, Acrylic Stamps, Chipboard Letters by Pink Paislee . Spray Ink is Licorice Spritz by Shimmerz Paints .

I learned something on this page that I thought I would share with you. :)

When I first completed this page it looked like this.

I kept staring at that BLANK corner in the top left . . . and I knew it needed "something" but wasn't quite sure what to do. I thought, "Wouldn't it be great if I had another red butterfly to go there?" But I didn't. :( Sooooo, I decided to improvise. I used another butterfly (a different color) as a mask with my Shimmerz Licorice Spritz . It worked like a charm! Filled that corner right up and made the red butterfly feel like it was floating upwards. YAY!

Before

After

So next time you only have one embellishment and you wish you had two . . . try using it as a mask! Super fun! :)

Thanks for popping by!

Masking with Shimmerz is so much fun

My use of Shimmerz is very simple on this layout but it creates a major effect. I used a doily I found in the kitchen the other day to create my background using Spritz in Licorice. Then I used Vibez Razzle Dazzle Berry, and Sea Foam Spritz to create the paint splatter look.

Here I used Treasured Hymn to change the pretty Prima flower to match the other embellishments.

So go dig in your kitchen drawers and find something to use as a mask and create something with your Shimmerz Paints.
Thanks ladies and happy scrapping!!!

Shimmerz me everything!!!

I have to make an effort NOT to put Shimmerz on everything. It doesn't matter if it's Vibez, Pearlz, Shimmerz, or my personal fav's Blingz. I just want to Shimmerize EVERYTHING,lol!!!

The small chipboard heart was colored with an American Crafts metallic silver marker. Then painted with Hottie Pink Blingz. Once dried, I painted over that with Hi Ho Silver Blingz. I love the results, the colors blend together so beautifully.
The beautiful paper rose was sprayed with my favorite Spritz Licorice, then a little Hi Ho Silver was brushed on top.

On this layout there is Hi Ho Silver Blingz is everywhere. On the chipboard heart, the purple heart, the chipboard flourish, and the Kraft envelope. Can you tell Hi Ho Silver is a fav or what? LOL.

On this layout I went with an all time favorite technique. This large scallop chipboard heart was sprayed with Licorice Spritz, painted with Scattered Straw crackle paint, clear rock candy crackle paint, then to add the finishing Shimmer to it Pixie Dust Blingz was painted on top. The effects are soo cool

And last but far from least. I am in total love with vibez. Here I created a stripped background using Grape Escape, and distressed the edges with Hermit the Frog.

Happy Scrapping ladies!!!

Stamping with Shimmerz

I have been using these large background rubber stamps for my cards lately. I spray the stamps with Shimmerz Spritz and I wanted to show you how I do that.
These stamps are large enough to cover a standard size card. Spray the stamp with Red-y or Not Shimmerz Vibez. Lay the card on top of the stamp and rub with your hand. I like to do it this way because I can see where I position the paper, especially here where there are straight lines.
This is what it looks like after you remove the paper.
For the second layer I used patterned paper and stamped it with the same stamp two times. Once using Licorice Shimmerz Spritz and then with Red-y or not Shimmerz Vibez.
The next two cards are done the same way. I used Sea Foam Shimmerz Spritz for both mixed with a little Licorice Shimmerz Spritz. Once I have the stamp out I spray and stamp several pieces at once, that way I have something to use later and it is dry and ready to go.
