Simple Painted Holiday Cards with Daisie Scraps

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a set of cards that I created using my Shimmerz Paints.  I had so

much fun just painting!  These are simple designs that you can either free-hand or even trace and paint.

Supplies Used:

I started by dividing my 12x12 Kraft cardstock into 6- 4x6 bases.  I started with the darkest color I was

using, Penny 4 Your Thoughts, and added some base elements to a few spaces.  This was a great

shimmery color that was perfect for a tree branch and some pine cones.

Next I went in with the greens.  I just added designs that I thought would look good.  A few sprigs and

some leaves.  I used Buddy’s Favorite color to create poinsettias.  The Blingz were perfect for some shiny

baubles on a wreath and more pine cones (that ended up looking like leaves).  I had one base left so I

painted a super easy tree using the Blue Lagoon.  It turned out so sparkly and pretty!

After everything was dry, I went in and added some doodle elements to each card using my Pitt Artist pen.
I outlined the pine cones, added a trunk to the tree, outlined the poinsettias and just added detail where I
thought it was needed.

After I was happy with the cards, I sent the whole sheet through my silhouette.  I used various fonts from
my computer to embellish my sentiments.  I had the Silhouette cut out the cards for me and had it shave
¼ of an inch off so that it would fit on the base with a nice border. The only thing left was adhering everything
 to the 4x6 base.

I created a process video to show how the cards were created.  I would love to have you check it out!
Don’t forget you can add my name (Daisie) to the comments of your next order to receive a fun freebie
with your order!

Homegrown Rainbows | Colorful Spring layout w/ process video

Hello everyone!

Lori here, sharing a colorful spring-filled layout. I'm certainly ready for bursts of colors any time, especially in these uncertain times.

I began my layout with selecting a bright blue cardstock as my base. I then cut out the Rainbow Heart Cutfile (part of the April Color Kitz) on white textured cardstock and backed it with patterned paper in primary colors. For added texture, I hand-stitched a simple back stitch on the cut file with red, blue, yellow and green thread.

For an extra pop of color, I added some white acrylic paint (by way of the packaging technique and splatters) as a layer beneath where the cutfile was going to be. I then did the same with Hermit the Frog (Vibez), Bed of Roses (Spritz), Jenni B Bleu (Vibez) and Heidi Ho Blue (Coloringz).
Popped the cutfile on 3D craft foam, matted my pictures on white cardstock and placed them like you see in the pictures. I made my title using three different packs of Thickers. For the word "Rainbows", I colored the letters with the same aforementioned colors in addition to Pumpkin (Shimmerz) and Lil' Yellow School Bus (Coloringz).

Finished off the layout with some embellishments from a home-made stash-bursting kit I made for my April layouts, and added a few red sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps around each heart.

Splashed a bit of Mustard Seed (Vibez) and Freshly Squeezed (Coloringz) all around the layout to tie each thing together and finished off my layout. Added my journaling in black ink right beneath one fo my photos, and done!

I love how this turned out! Hope I've inspired you to embrace the sunshine and rainbows in your life, and to get your stories documented.

You Are My Sunshine | Ericka Strange

Happy Weekend! I hope your weekend is going well and your weather is nice and summery! Ericka here with a fun card I made using the The Missy Whidden Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz. I love creating with these kits, the colors are always awesome and there is always so many ways to use the wonderful cut files.

For today's card, I decided to make a circle card to highlight this fun summery cut file.

The Missy Kitz contains the following:

  • NEW Coloringz In Deep
  • Coloringz Lil' Yellow Skool Bus
  • Shimmerz Marigold
  • Inklingz Corney  Flower Blue
It also contains three exclusive Summer Dotz and a beautiful sun & cloud cut file designed by Paige Evans!  The prices is $18.95. Check it out:

http://www.shimmerzpaints.com/shop.php#!/The-Missy-Whidden-Color-Kitz-The-July-Edition/p/142253122/category=33206055

I started by sizing the cut file down so that I could make it into a card and used light weight watercolor paper in my Silhouette Cameo. Once the image was done cutting, I took the Coloringz sprays and used them on the top and bottom of the image. I decided to leave the inner portions of the clouds intact and used the Inklingz to color them to add some more shine.

Once that layer was dry, I took a paint brush and added another layer of the Coloringz In Deep to make the swirls a bit darker and added some splatters too.

I used the Shimmerz Marigold on the inner part of the sunshine to give it a slightly darker color and shine. I also added a little foam tape to prop it up against the rest of the cut file.

I then used my Silhouette to trace the cut file and made an attached circle slightly larger than the cut file to use for my card base. I love the dark blue card stock against these beautiful colors.

I cut the sentiment on matte black vinyl and placed it on vellum to help it stand out on the card. I added a couple of gems in my stash to finish off my circular card.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get a chance to create something beautiful with these awesome July Kitz!

Laugh as Much As You Breathe | Katty Miranda

Hello friends! Katty here to share a Scrapbook Layout with you all. I am scrapping a photo of myself from my Senior year in High School. This was taken during my Senior Photo Session. I chose some soft colors to compliment the colors in the photo.

I began with a Black and white Patterned Paper. I used some gesso to prep the page and added a few colors of spray mist. I used all shades of pink, a Coloringz in Pink Stilettos, a Vibez in Pop Art Pink and a Spritz in Cotton Candy. I sprayed them directly onto the page focusing on the bottom right hand corner and around the area where my photo would sit.
I then used my favorite Paste-eez in the color Tree Hugger and used that through a Lattice stencil in two areas, to the left of the photo and on top of the photo. I layered a few patterned papers behind the photo and also used some beautiful fussy cut flowers around the photo.
Lastly, I added my tittle as well as a few other stickers, keeping everything around the photo. I used a Coloringz in Night Moves and also added some Ink Splatters as a finishing touch.

I love how it turned out.
Products Used: Coloringz: Pink Stilettos, Night Moves
Spritz: Cotton Candy
Vibez: Pop Art Pink
Paste-Eek: Tree Hugger

Positive Art Journal Spread | Katty Miranda

Hello friends! Katty here to share a fun Art Journal Page with you all. I was in the mood to paint so I pulled out my handy dandy Art Journal. I am using my Daler Rowney Mixed Media Travelbook. I love the size of the pages in this journal, not too big, but enough space for me to get creative. I created a fun and colorful spread.

I began with a stencil and one of my favorite paste-eez in the color Tree Hugger which is a gorgeous teal. The stencil I used looks like pomegranate seeds. I love the texture the Paste-eez and stencil immediately add to my page. It looks pretty all by itself but of course I needed to add lots more color to it.

I pulled out some of my awesome Shimmerz paints in several colors, I used a Coloringz in Mandarin Mai Tai and Pink Stilettos and three Creameez in Trippin in the Tropics, Boogie Boardin Blue, and Lettuce get together. I used a watercolor brush and scattered the colors around the page in between the stenciled image. I mixed it up and added the intense colors in some areas and used a little more water to soften the same colors up in other areas. I love the look of this mix.

I used a black sharpie pen and added some faux stitching around parts of the stenciled image to add some additional interest. I love the detail that the faux stitching adds. I also added some positive coordinating word stickers to finish it off.
Supplies Used:
Paste-eez: Tree Hugger
Coloringz: Mandarin Mai Tai, Pink Stilettos
Creameez: Lettuce get Together, Boogie Boardin Blue, Trippin in the Tropics

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Remember...

I Love Today Scrapbook Layout | Katty Miranda

Hello friends! Katty here to share a scrapbook layout with you all. I am scrapbooking  a photo of myself. I recently started my own business and this picture just expresses how I feel in the clothing I'm selling. I decided to create a fun and simple background.

I began with scribbly floral cut file. I placed it on top of a white piece of carsdstock. I used Several Coloringz in Mandarin Mai Tai, Well Blue me Down and Peachy Keen. I also used a Spritz in Saphire, a Vibez in Sweet Heart and a Creameez in Sky's the Limit. For the Creameez, I watered it down and added it to a small spray bottle to get the same mist effect as with the other colors.
I then used the misted cut file itself on top of the white cardstock. I slightly offset the cut file so that it was not directly over the misted area. I love the look this created. So simple and so fun.
I used a teal stripped transparency as a layer behind my photo. It makes my photo stand our over all of these gorgeous colors.
I used black foam thickers for my tittle. I also scattered around some foam hearts and stars. I chose not to embellish any further, The fun bright colors were enough embellishment for me.

Products Used:
Coloringz: Peachy Keen, Well Blue me Down, Mandarin Mai Tai
Spritz: Saphire
Vibzs: Sweetheart
Creameez: Sky's the Limit

XOXO

Eat Cake Layout | Katty Miranda

Hello friends! Katty here to share another 12x12 scrapbook layout. I am scrapbooking a photo my mom's birthday. She is posing with my two boys, nice and nephew. We must have taken 75 of the same picture and in every photo someone was looking away or making a crazy face, lol. This is one of the few where everyone looks decent.

I began with white cardstock. I added gesso to the back. I used Coloringz in Pink Stilettos and No Yoking in the background. I sprayed directly on and I used the packaging technique as well.

Once dry, I used a Prima floral stencil and the Paste-eez dimensional paste in Raspberry Sherbet. I also added some splatters with the mists.

I placed my photo in the center and used chipboard birthday themed embellishments from a Dear Lizzy chipboard pack. I even created a cluster of balloons.

I wanted to add some of the mint color from the chipboard so I added another Coloringz in Oh Say Can You Sea using the packaging technique. I also added a border of yellow patterned paper around the whole page. I love how it turned out.

Products Used:
Coloringz: Pink Stilettos, No Yoking, Oh Say Can You See
Paste-eez: Raspberry Sherbert

Paste-eez meets Shimmerz Sprays for a colorful explosion

Hey everyone, Beck BT here again this time with a scrapbook page.  I am really enjoying creating scrapbook pages lately and this one is no exception.  I wanted to create a fun mix of colors and hitting my Shimmerz products make it just so easy.

Shimmerz Products Used:

Paste-eez - Peach Fuzz
Coloringz - No Yoking
Vibez - Pop Art Pink
Spritz - Ruby
Vibez - Egg Noggin'
Vibez - Jeni B Bleu

Other products:
Simple Stories - Good day Sunshine collection papers
Simple Stories - Good day Sunshine collection sticker elements
Simple Stories enamel dots
Silhouette 'love' cut file
Indigoblu Stencil

Shimmery fun:
To create my page I used my Shimmers to create a fun background base for my page.

I started out by applying the paste-eez through a stencil, graduating it lighter as I moved toward the sides of the page.

Next I added fun color to the background by splattering various colours featured in my photo to tie the photo into the page and accent it.

I never planned on the big yellow splat, but I must say I kinda like it so didn't set out to hide it.

I hope you enjoyed my share today!

Till next time
