Anniversary Scrapbook Layout | Melissa Minor | September 2024 Color Kitz

Hi crafty friends! Melissa Minor here and I'm super excited to be sharing a scrapbook layout with you using the September 2024 Color Kitz. I created today's layout to celebrate my two year dating anniversary with my boyfriend Dale. We started dating back in September 2022. 💖 This is my favorite picture of us. I've been waiting for just the right papers to scrap it. The Color Kitz this month is it! I knew right away I wanted to use the beautiful cut file that came in the kit. I printed it on black cardstock. I backed the cut file with various patterned papers from the Color Kitz. I think this cut file is the star of my page. It's absolutely gorgeous!

I wanted the cut file to really pop. So, I applied Shimmerz-Limoncello from the kit and Vibez-Mustard Seed behind the flower. I thought the yellow color behind the flower looked like sunshine peeking through. For my title I used a stamp/die from my stash. I die cut the words "I Love". Then I stamped a couple sentiments and backed them with the pink patterned paper. I distressed the edges of all the papers.
Next it was time to embellish my layout. I used the pre-cut flowers from the ephemera pack. I did trim off the white edges with my scissors. I thought the flowers needed some leaves. I took out a sheet of mixed media cardstock and painted the whole sheet with the Vibez-Moss-Terious Green. I used some dies and cut leaves from that sheet. I love how shimmery the leaves look. They are so pretty and just what the page needed. I added the heart dotz and some yellow pearls to finish today's layout. I like how the yellow in the dotz and the yellow in the pearls draws the yellow painting out.

The September Color Kitz is stunning. If you place an order on the Shimmerz Paints website be sure to leave my name in the comments sections to receive a free gift. You can add my name to every order you place. I think today's layout is my absolute favorite page in my album. You can watch the whole process in the linked video below. I hope this has given you some inspiration for the Color Kitz this month! Have a great week!

Happy Crafting,
Melissa Minor (aka Cards By Melissa Minor)

I also have an unboxing video if you'd like to see the full September Color Kitz here.

May 2022 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends! Brianna here today sharing a new layout using the super gorgeous May 2022 Color Kitz!  This months kit is so bright and happy, you'll want to use it to document all of your Summer memories.  Here's my layout, make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post:

I thought it would be fun to change it up a bit and I only used the positive pieces from the title cut file.  I painted each one using the colors from the kit and outlined them in black faux stitching to make sure they stood out from everything else.

I popped them all up on foam tape and set them aside.  It's such a fun phrase for a title!

One more photo of the letters:

Next, I created my background by spraying the Vibez Palm Reader and painting on the Shimmerz Here I Yam around the page.  I spritzed water and let the colors run and blend.  I even added a bit of the Creameez For Shore for some extra shimmer.

I took one of the lemon cluster cut files and offset the inner lemon pieces so that they were sized perfectly when I went to back it.  I painted them using the Coloringz No Yoking and Inklingz Meet Me @ Sunset.  I painted the leaves using Palm Reader.

After everything was adhered down, I matted my photo and put it down next to my cut file title.  I added some ephemera and included one of the Dotz.

Here's another cluster:

One more final shot of this fun layout:

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way!  Make sure to add my name to the notes/comments section of all of your Shimmerz orders and you'll receive a free gift!  See you next month friends!

November 2021 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing a new layout using the beautiful November 2021 Color Kitz!  The colors this month are amazing and I had so much fun created this Fall themed layout.  There's a process video at the end of this post, so if you'd like to see how this layout came together, I'd love for you to check it out!

To start, I cut both exclusive cut files out on white textured cardstock and painted the colors from the kit onto everything.  It's hard to see the gold/yellow tones in the photos but you can see them pretty well in the process video.  I created my background by spraying and painting on the Rock-a-fella Blue, Tarnished Treasure and Greener Pastures.  I added some splatters and got the colors to move by spraying on some clean water.

Here's a closer look at the background:

After everything was dry, I adhered both the title and leave cut files and took the Dotz from the kit and created my embellishment clusters around them.  I love the dimension from the leaves, they turned out so pretty.  I also added in the woodland critters ephemera/stickers into my clusters.

I finished off my layout by adding in some additional embellishments using one of my Felicity Jane kits that matched the Color Kit perfectly.

One more up close shot:

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope that I've inspired you in some way today!  Remember to put my name in the notes/comments of all of your Shimmerz orders and they'll send you a free gift.  Make sure to check out my process video below and I"ll see you next month where I share a layout using the December Color Kitz.  Bye for now!

Here Comes the Sun - July Color Kitz with Natalie Dill

Happy July, friends! Natalie here with the July color kitz and they are straight fire!

The July Color Kitz include:

  • Frogget Me Not Vibez
  • Caribbean Sunset Spritz
  • Mandarin Mai Tai Coloringz
  • Green Olive Shimmerz
  • *NEW* There She Rose Again Shimmerz
  • 1 exclusive  "Here Comes the Suncut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 set of "So Flocking Excited for Summer" Dotz
  • 1 set of paper poppies.
For this layout, I used clear gesso on the entire sheet of white cardstock. I then cut a circle from the middle of the page and set it aside.

Find my entire process here: https://youtu.be/Vt7_dU5qqlY

I stamped a monstera leaf and palm fronds around the circle border in VersaMark ink and heat embossed the images in white.

I used the Froggert Me Not Vibez and the Green Olive Shimmerz all over the border. I put two layers to obtain the vibrancy seen here. I used a wet paper towel to clean excess paint off the embossed images.

I also sewed around the circle and the page border. I then adhered the border to a patterned striped background.

On the inner circle, I layered the warm colors from Mandarin Mai Tai, Caribbean Spritz to
There She Rose Again Shimmerz. I added a bit of water and swirled the color to all edges of the circle.

I cut the adorable exclusive cut file out of smooth white cardstock. I backed the cut file with a photo of a sunset from Dauphin Island, Alabama.

I popped the cut file off the photo with foam adhesive.

The paper poppies are so pretty! They have a black center, as real poppies do, but for my layout,  I had no other black on the page. So I covered the black middles with white gesso then added orange Nuvo drops on the center to match my page.

I also added a second set of dotz from My Main Squeeze because they matched this Kitz so well!

I clustered the Dotz with a few white palm fronds and the altered poppies and placed them pleasingly around the page.

I had so much fun creating this page with the July Color Kitz! I hope you'll run and grab yours soon. Mention my name, Natalie, for a free gift with your order.

xo, Natalie

March 2021 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here sharing a new layout using the absolutely stunning March 2021 Color Kitz!  I couldn't wait to create with this kit because the colors in it are so beautiful!

Here's my layout:

To start, I cut the cut file out on white textured cardstock.  While I was still in my Silhouette Design Software, I duplicated the cut file and offset the inside pieces of the word 'sunshine'.  I planned on painting the backing pieces using the Gosh Garnet and French Twist Inklingz and the brand new Vibez Pink Lemonade from the kit.  By doing this, it made it so much easier when I went to adhere the backing pieces on.  I love letting my Silhouette do the work for me!

While my backing pieces were drying, I got to work on my background.  I loosely painted on the Blue My Mind Inklingz and also sprayed on a bit of the Shimmeringz in Goldie Lox.  The gold in all of these colors really brought everything together.  So pretty!  I also painted a bit of the Goldie Lox onto the 'Hello' word in my cut file.

Before I started backing the rest of the cut file, I applied thin foam strips to the entire thing.  After I backed it, I started applying a heavy amount of liquid glue to each of the letters and carefully sprinkled on the Gold Foil pieces from the kit.  This made the entire page so much more sparkly!

I then adhered the entire cut file to my background and got to work on embellishing.  I created little clusters around my photo using the Dotz from the kit and made sure to add some gold tangled thread underneath them.

I added a few chipboard stickers and a really fun rainbow embellishment.  The colors matched the Magical Forest collection by Crate Paper so perfectly!

Here's one more up close photo.  I just love the shimmer and all of the texture and dimension.

For a more step by step process of how this layout came together, make sure to watch my video below!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope that I've inspired you in some way! Have you had a chance to pick up the Color Kitz yet?  Make sure to do so before they sell out, you're going to love this kit!  See you next time friends!

February 2021 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here with a new layout using this months fabulous Color Kitz!  I love everything in the February Color Kitz and had so much fun creating this layout!

To start, I cut the exclusive Rosez cut file several times on some textured white cardstock.  After they were all finished cutting, I applied the Vibez Cloud Wine (new), Coloringz Age Before Ruby (also new) and the Inklingz in Pink A Boo directly onto the floral pieces.  For the leaves, I used an Inklingz in Good As Gold.

I love that the cut files were a bit warped and that they added extra dimension and interest to the page.

Once the flowers were dry, I got to work on my background.  I took the Shimmerz Angel Wings and mixed it with some modeling paste from my stash.  If you only have the Color Kitz and none of the Shimmerz pastes on hand, you can simply add the colors to modeling paste and you can create the color that you need.  Since Angel Wings is basically shimmery white, it gave the modeling paste a subtle sparkly look.  I then pushed the paste through the Diamond Stencil in the kit and it created this awesome texture!

I embellished using a few Felicity Jane products from my stash and adhered the Dotz from the kit around the page.

I really wanted the paints and cut file from the kit to really stand out so I kept the embellishing pretty minimal.  I love how the floral pieces turned out.  Have you tried painting directly onto cut files?  I hope I've inspired you to give it a try!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!   Have you had a chance to pick up this gorgeous February Kit yet?  There are some still available in the shop so snag one while you can.  Don't forget to add my name to the notes/comments section of your order and you'll receive a free gift!  Thanks again for being here and I'll see you next month!

December 2020 Color Kitz with Natalie Dill

Happy December, friends!

Natalie here using the December 2020 Color Kitz for a festive layout!  I love how versatile these kits are, you can layer up the colors for a vibrant, traditional holiday look, or go for a pastel version, which I did on today's layout.

  • Seas The Day Vibez
  • Bubblegum Blast Shimmerz
  • Granny Gray Spritz
  • Buddy's Favorite Color Shimmerz
  • Olive Branch Spritz
  • 1 exclusive layered process "By The Chimney With Care" cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 set of "Oh What Fun" Dotz
  • 1 package of Silver Dusting Embellishmentz

I created a background using Buddy's Favorite Color Shimmerz, Bubblegum Blast Shimmerz, Seas the Day Vibez and Olive Branch Spritz. I allowed the Seas the Day and Buddy's Favorite Color to run together on a part of the background to create a beautiful purple to accompany the purple sunset in my photos. Mixing colors is another awesome way to stretch your kitz and get the most out of them!

You can see the entire process video on my YouTube channel to see how the background was achieved.

After I created the background and added the corresponding color splatters, I added my cut file backed in coordinating patterned papers. I popped the cut file up with foam tape.

I applied the silver tinsel dusting to the ornament embellishments with glue. I then went over the tinsel with Glossy Accents to seal it on and keep it from flaking into my scrapbook. It worked beautifully and once dry, that tinsel isn't going anywhere!

I love how the beautiful pastel background looks through the clear title sticker I chose. The silver font is legible, and the beautiful watercolor background isn't hidden.

I also applied the silver tinsel to the ornament tops and filled them in the cut file with pop dots.

I layered on embellishments and stickers in corresponding, festive colors and added a dash of journaling to complete my festive layout!

I hope you've inspired to create with this gorgeous, versatile color kit.

Mention my name in the comments and receive an extra treat with your order!

Thanks for looking!
xoxo,
Natalie
