Hello! I am excited to share my layout featuring the April 2023 Color Kitz and the Paper Color Kitz, combined with the Blooming Wild Collection! The colors in the April Kitz are so beautiful, and they worked perfectly for sunshine and water!
I have a link to the full process video at the end of this post!
I started this layout by creating the water at the bottom. I used texture paste and a Peartree Cutfiles stencil to add the textured dots. Once that dried, I sprayed on the Vibez - Deep Blue Sea. It is rich and vibrant, and it's my absolute favorite blue created by Shimmerz Paints! I then layered on the Inklingz - Me & Blue. It is shiny and shimmery, and it added the sparkle I was looking for. I also added the Inklingz - Ice Sage to the water, and these two Inklingz helped me achieve the shine I wanted to capture, mimicking sunlight on the water.
Once the blue section was dry, I added on another stencil from Peartree Cutfiles to create the sun rays. I put down a little Distress Oxide with a blending brush, and then I sprayed the Vibez - Here Comes the Sun on top of that. This gave me that bold golden yellow! While it was still wet, I splattered on Shimmerz - Limoncello from my stash. This added those lighter yellow sparkles peeking out of the sun rays.
Across the center, I tore strips of paper from the April Paper Color Kitz and the Blooming Wild collection in blues and yellows. This gave me the central foundation for my photo placement.
I added my sweet photo from our Jamaica trip and layered it up with patterned paper, chipboard frames, tags, and tabbed cards to create a focal point. I also added the title and embellishments, all from the Blooming Wild collection.
At the top of the layout, I added handstitching in between the rays of sunshine and a few more shiny embellishments from Buttons Galore. I loved creating this layout using all of the beautiful Shimmerz Paints goodness! If you place a Shimmerz Paints order, be sure to add my name, Sarah Millerhouse, in the comments section to receive a free gift!
Emilie here using the December 2020 Color Kitz to show you how versatile this kit is by creating a non-Christmassy layout! I love these kits so much! The mediums are so easy to use in all sort of ways! Paint-brushes, sprays, splatters, full background, lettering... you name it, you can create it!
1 exclusive layered process"By The Chimney With Care"cut file created byShimmerz Paints
1 set of"Oh What Fun"Dotz
1 package ofSilver Dusting Embellishmentz
Lately I have been practicing brush lettering which gave me the idea for this background. I am so happy with how it turned out! I used a large round brush to hand-letter the word "Love" on my background with the "Bubblegum Blast" Shimmerz paint. I then fine-lined it gradually with a thinner round brush then followed with a super thin round tip brush both in more or less diluted "Buddy's favorite color" Shimmerz paint to create the impression of volume.
I splattered my background with diluted "Bubblegum Blast" and "Buddy's favorite color" shimmerz as well as with the Olive Branch Spritz.
I sprayed two pieces of white cardstock respectively with "Sea's the day" Vibez and "Granny Gray" Spritz to mat my photograph.
I tore a bit of the Granny Gray cardstock to repeat at the top right corner of my layout to balance out my design.
I decorated my layout with sequins, die-cuts and Perspextives for a mix of texture and a layering of volumes. And there you go! I am so happy with this layout and how it turned out!

Hey friends! Emilie here today for my first project as part of the Shimmerz Design Team. I am super fortunate to be using the new September 2020 Color Kitz.
The kit contains:
Blue Jeans Vibez
Magenta Shimmerz
Iris My Case Shimmerz
*NEW EXCLUSIVE COLOR* Sage Advice Inklingz
*COMEBACK COLOR* Butter Cream Shimmerz
1 exclusiveStella Layered Flower Designcut file created byShimmerz Paints
I used the gorgeous Stella flower cut file on white cardstock. I sprayed them with the Blue Jeans Vibez and then added a bit more color with spots of Magenta, Buttercream and Iris My Case Shimmerz. The cut file has two floral bases, 5 petal pieces and one centre rolled flower. I decided to give them even more volume by splitting some of the layers and gluing petals together.
I used the packaging technique to add more colour to my background with a touch of Magenta Shimmerz and then added flickers of colour in Magenta and Iris My Case
I folded the top left corner of the striped paper and added one of the Dotz for added detail and embellishment
I also added a small brad in the middle of the Stella Flowers for extra detail but also to make sure it will stay together throughout the years.
The colors of this Kit are right up my street and I am completely in love with them!
Make sure you grab this gorgeous, fall kit from the Shimmerz shop before they are gone and add my name "Emilie" in the comment section for a free surprise gift! See you soon!
Hello! It's Simone again. Remember my journal background that I created using Shimmerz Coloringz in January?
I loved the effect of the spread and decided I wanted to do a layout based on it. So I brought out my Coloringz and Vibez again and in a first step mixed them with white acrylic paint and created a rainbow effect in the middle of my 12x12 card stock. I did this so that there would be one part of the card stock that was completely covered in paint.
After the paint was dry, I used the mists with a paint brush and dipped it to the top of my colored background and let it drip down the page holding the paper vertically. I mixed the colors as I went and loved the effect that I was able to achieve. I did not treat the card stock with gesso so the mist would run smoothly across the acrylic paint but once it reached the plain card stock it slowed down and started to soak into the paper. I loved how the color started to feather and intensify the individual streaks.
When my background was finished I started working on the layout and used a cut file to create part of my title which is the most prominent part of my layout. I backed each letter with scraps of patterned paper that matched the rainbow background. Then I added my photo and embellishments and called it done.
Ok, maybe this sounds a bit too easy and I should add that I spent quite some time with the decision making process of where exactly each individual embellishment should be placed. And this description also lacks the fact that I didn't like my square photo. But I have a process video where you can see me make all the decisions and find a solution for my photo, which I now like much better!
Here is a link to my process video on youtube. If you place an order in the Shimmerz Store, don't forget to mention my name Simone in the comments at checkout to receive a free mini surprise product! Thanks for stopping by today!

Hey there Shimmerz Fans! Niki back with you today sharing a layout and process video creating a bold background. I was inspired by a pink-yellow ombre effect journaling card and thought I'd have a go at re-creating that effect onto a white background.
I started off by painting the bold stripes. I used a wide paintbrush. The yellow is original Shimmerz which is a water colour paint and I could simply dip my brush straight into the pot and paint the stripe. The next colour was the slightly darker yellow/orange which is actually a Vibez Spray - in 'Sunset Strip'. I couldn't fit my wide paintbrush into the bottle so I poured a little bit into a water pot and painted that way. The sprays are very runny so this was more difficult to paint with, however becuase it was so wet it blended really well with the Sunny Shimmerz, which was great for the ombre effect I was going for.
I then moved onto the pinks and I used another original Shimmerz paint for the darker pink and Vibez Pop Art Pink for the lightest one. I then added flicks using coordinating colours over each stripe.
While I was waiting for my stripes to dry I pulled out the word 'Lovely' from a chipboard sheet and had a go at painting that ombre style too. I carefully applied the colours to the word and blended them together to achieve the same ombre effect.
Once my stripes were dry I applied Dazzlerz in Dreamscicle through a stencil onto my background. When everything was dry I behan building up the layers of my layout and embellished using tone on tone embellishments.
To finish off I flicked drops of gold Inklingz in the Miner Miner 49er colour onto my layout.
You can see my process video of this layout below. When you place an order for any Shimmerz products, make sure you pop my name in the comments sections and you will receive a free gift - happy days!
