June 2025 Color Kitz | Mermaid Life | Stephanie Dang

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and I'm back on the blog today to share my project using this month’s color kitz. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at https://www.instagram.com/paperandi/ and https://paperandi07.blogspot.com. This kit is so fun and filled with beautiful aquatic colors. You will find all supplies to recreate the layout at the bottom of my blog post.

Step 1: Start with the multi-color artistic background, layout with white cardstock that has been prepped with gesso.

Step 2: Using a waterbrush and water, add the following colors: Spritz (Walkin' A Tight Heliotrope) and Shimmerz (Peacock's Plume). Adding more water if necessary to move the colors around. Note: do one color at a time and let dry.

Step 3: Frame photo in white. Add a layer of aquatic paper behind photo along with a strip of stripe purple paper towards bottom. Everyone's photo is different and of different size, so adjust accordingly and trim.

Step 4: Add larger embellishments as seen and then smaller embellishments to follow. Use foam adhesive to create dimension to layout.

Supplies:
• Shimmerz Paints JUNE 2025 Color Kitz,  Spritz (Walkin' A Tight Heliotrope), Shimmerz (Peacock's Plume), gesso, white cardstock, foam adhesive, enamels, and regular adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed my project, and felt inspired to create this yourself by using the June 2025 Color Kitz. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at https://www.instagram.com/paperandi/ and https://paperandi07.blogspot.com. • Powder Puff Spritz
  • Elfin' Magic Vibez
  • Strawberry Fieldz Creameez
  • Great Fruit Creameez

  • 1 set of "Oh My Heart" Dotz

So much product - it's a truly great deal!

I loved using this kit to create a landscape layout. I made a sky and a garden and place a photo of my son in the garden! Find the full process video on my channel.

I applied texture paste for the bottom grass through a stencil from a past Color Kitz collection and for the sky through a phrased Vicki Boutin stencil. I used Ranger matte texture paste.

I then sprayed the Elfin' Magic on the grassy area with a bit of additional water to allow the color to flow through the dry texture.

I used the same technique with the Sapphire in the sky area.

After the areas dried, I went back and added additional splatter.

I coated water color paper with two layers of the Great Fruit and Strawberry Fields creameez. after it dried, I used the papers to die cut multiple florals.

I used the Shimelle Never Grow Up collection to add die cuts and stickers to my page and it matched this Color Kit perfectly!

I hope you'll grab your kit before it's gone! Find it in the Shimmerz store. Mention my name for a free gift with purchase.

April 2021 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!!  Brianna Lepper back with you today sharing a new layout using the oh so amazing and beautiful April 2021 Color Kitz.  This month, we get two new exclusive sprays!!  For $26.95 + shipping, here's what you get in this months kit:

It's Mint to Be Shimmerz
*NEW* Sweet Baby Girl Shimmeringz
Pixie Dust Blingz
*NEW* So Blue-ti-ful Spritz
1 exclusive layered process "Some Bunny Loves Youcut file created by Shimmerz Paints
1 set of Dotz
1 package of *EXCLUSIVE* Spiegelmom Scraps Sequins "Baby Stella"

Here's my layout, make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post:

I had so much fun with the kit this month!   The colors are beautiful and the two new sprays that we get are stunning!  To start, I cut the exclusive cut file out on a piece of white textured cardstock using my Silhouette.  I also offset and cut the backing pieces since I planned on adding lots of color to them.  In doing this, it made backing the cut file so much easier in the end!  I love backing cut files with mixed media, have you given it a try?

Next, I got to work on my background.  I prepped a piece of thick white cardstock with gesso and painted all of the colors from the kit right onto it.  When I started painting on the Blingz Pixie Dust, I made sure to scoop a lot of the paint onto my brush to make sure I had TONS of shimmer and shine.

Once my painted backing pieces were finished drying, I went ahead and backed my cut file.  Then using the SpiegelMom sequins that we get in the kit, I created shakers in all of the "O's" in the cut file.  I love making shakers in a cut file, it's so fun and this sequin mix is so cute!!

Next, I popped up the entire cut file on some foam tape and adhered it down to my background.  Then I took the Dotz from the kit and added some tangled thread underneath each one.  I love the texture and interest that it gives!

I embellished the rest of my page using the new Garden Party collection by Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper.  Talk about the perfect match!!

Here's one more up close shot!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope I've inspired you in some way!  When you place your next Shimmerz order, make sure to add my name to the notes/comments section of your order and you'll receive a small freebie!  See you in my next post!

Colorful Autumn | Audrey Yeager

Hello and happy fall!!  One of my most favorite things about living the the Northeastern US is the changing of the seasons.  Our autumns are full of vibrance and color, and I wanted to capture that on my page using my Shimmerz products!

I began by covering my background patterned paper with gesso.  Then I added tried out some yellows mists as a base including Spritz in Chickadee and Tuscan Sun.  Then to deepen the shade, I added a Vibez in Rolling in the Hay.

Using a burst pattern stencil, I then went over the yellow base with some oranges, greens, and red shades including Coloringz Mandarin Mai Tai, Vibez in Palm Reader, and a Spritz in Caribbean Sunset

To add some texture, I started with some Dazzlerz in Coral Me Crazy, and mixed in some Mandarin Mai Tai and Caribbean Sunset to make a brighter orange color.  I used a palette knife to spread it through the stencil. Finally, I added a few splatters of Coloringz in Moody Mauve.

For embellishments, I punched some leaves from colored papers, and backed a cut file for the title.  A few little clusters of some chipboard trees, some wood veneers, and journaling to top it all off!

You can watch the whole process below:

Thank you and happy fall!!

October Color Kitz with Natalie Dill

Hey friends! Natalie here with another Halloween layout using the awesome October 2020 Color Kitz!

This exclusive cut file is the CUTEST! I had to dig deep for a favorite photos to use with it.

The October Color Kitz have already sold out once!
But luckily, they're restocked.
They contain:
  • Marigold Shimmerz
  • Taupe of The Mornin' Vibez
  • Plum Pudding Spritz
  • *NEW EXCLUSIVE COLOR* Love Ocean #9 Vibez
  • 4 Leaf Clover Spritz
  • 1 exclusive "I Got This Feelin'" cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 set of "Happy Hauntingz" Dotz
  • 1 package of Vibrant Pom Pomz
Such a fun and versatile kit!

You can find my process video here.

I am currently obsessed with Chevrons! So I decided to paint different gessoed pieces of paper with each of the kit colors and cut them into wonky chevrons.

I then pieced them together and sewed down the middle with a zig zag stitch after inking up the edges.

I cut the adorable cut file in a black and white polka dot.

I splattered all the kit colors besides Taupe of the Morning (as I already had enough black) on my white cardstock background.

I embellished with two of the adorable Dotz to add color around the page.

The pompom paper clips are a fun new addition to the Shimmerz Shop!

I also added some gems and sequins from my stash.

I used a couple of skeletons from the Crate Paper Hey Pumpkin collection to accompany the Mr. Bones from the cut file.

I love these bright, Halloween colors!
I also love that they'd be so fun along and separately and bring a completely different feel to a page when used outside a Halloween theme.

I hope you're inspired to create a fun, holiday themed page wih this awesome kit!!

xoxo, Natalie

Fresh Start by Samantha Robles

Good Saturday morning everyone! I know this has been quite the week. I love Spring season though, don't you? The colors, the smells. I was so excited to start grabbing those fun Spring colors in the new Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz for March. The new kit includes a new Spritz color called "Sweet Pea". Guys, it's a must have in your craft room. It's a very soft lilac purple. The more you add to it, the more gorgeous it becomes. This month with Shimmerz Paints, we are also doing the "Spring Forward Challenge". Our challenge is not to use patterned pattern in the month of March. Challenge accepted y'all!

With this layout, I started with some Altenew stamps in the Henna collection. Right now, I'm super into making my own ephemera. It gives me the chance to really make my page even my own with my own idea for colors and style. So take it from me, I can't stamp to save my life. However; It's become my new addiction at best.
I then started painting my flowers the following colors:
I took an afternoon and really went to town detailing every little thing about the flowers. Once that process was done, I staked this scalloped white cardstock on top of a soft pink sheet. It was then time to layer!
Some of my flowers have 3d tape on the back. Others were just simply glued down. I then added some Dotz from the "OO La La" Set. The final tiny touch is adding these adorable stickers from the new Bloom Street Collection by Pink Paislee.
I hope this inspired you to reach for those fun Stamps and Shimmerz Paints! The March Color Kitz Collection is now available in the Shimmerz Shop. Don't forget that this weekend, paint products and Dotz are 20% off in the Shimmerz Shop when you use promo code:
LUCKY20 at checkout.
Have a happy and safe weekend everyone!
XOXO

Sparkle Every Day with Samantha Robles

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm so excited to pop in here and share a fun layout process. Sure to get you in the mood to "Think Spring". I don't know about you guys but as soon as the Holiday's have moved on, we're in this awkward phase. I'm ready to jump in to all things Spring.
Today's layout process is just that.
I started this layout by cutting TONS of Paige Evan's rolled flower cut files. After cutting those out, I then sprayed them with 3 colors:

I sprayed so many flower that I actually let them sit overnight on plastic wrap sheets. I completely saturated the flowers, front and back. That's why I just decided it's best to be patient and let them sit through the night. The next morning, it was time to roll and glue them together.
On  some white cardstock, I cut a giant circle and pieced it on top of Paper 9 from the Pink Paislee Horizon Collection. Once my sheets were pieced together, it was time to start adding my florals in. To add some color contrast, I added some floral ephemra pieces from the Horizon collection. Anyone close to me knows that I bought like 8 of these in the span of 9 months or so. That's how obsessed I am with them.

Soon after spacing all my pieces together, I then backed this adorable photo of my puppy, Remi, onto Paper 23 from the Horizon collection. I then add some foam tape to the back to make it pop. While I'm piecing my final touched on the flowers around the frame, I cut Doily 1 cut file from Paige Evan's Etsy shop onto some pink sparkly paper. Then cut it right in half and tuck it behind my backed photo. I pieced an old quote piece on top of the Doily.  The final touch is adding Dotz from the Sweetheartz Set.

Thanks so much for popping on by today. I had fun sharing this process with you. Don't forget to sparkle every day!

Color Challenge - Don't Citron Me | Kelly Janes

Hey there, friends! Have you taken part in the Autumn Shimmerz Color Challenge? The color I chose, for this challenge, is Don't Citron Me Coloringz. I find green to be a challenging color and it's definitely not something I naturally gravitate towards, so I knew it would be a great color to choose for the challenge!

I started my 12x12 scrapbook layout by adding a layer of clear gesso to the background. I then used heavy black gesso with a spiderweb stencil to add a bit of detailing to the background. I then took the Don't Citron Me Coloringz and sprayed it directly onto the background.

Once the green was dry, I sprayed Ruby Spritz and Lil' Yellow Skool Bus Coloringz onto a scrap piece of packaging. I mixed those colors together with a paintbrush to create a deep orange color and then used the packaging technique to add that color to the background in a few different areas. I think it's so fun to add the color to the background using different techniques (packaging technique, using a paintbrush, spraying directly on the background, etc.)! You get a different look with each technique!

I then moved onto embellishing. I grabbed multiple Halloween themed embellishments and 4 photos of my kiddo when he was trick or treating. I had so much fun layering the embellishments on the background! I love how the mixed media background peeks out from behind the photos and embellishments!

Now you can take a look at my process video!

I hope you'll play along with the challenge this month! Remember to use the hashtag #shimmerzcolorchallenge when posting online!

My Little Pumpkin Spice - October Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz with Samantha Robles

Happy October, Friends! I LOVE this time of year. The colors, the smells, the clothes. The epic crafting opportunities! Let's be real here: Fall is a time of change and a new sense of hope. It shows us that all beautiful things change in life. This October Color Kitz is the perfect opportunity to transition from that Summer state of mind to a more mellow and relaxed place.
Through out October, we're challenging our team and readers to branch out. Try something new for a change. Maybe it's a color. Maybe it's a technique. Maybe it's something that intimidates you. I have 3:
1. The color purple
2. Rolled flowers
3. and backing cut files

It was time to take one challenge on in this layout. I chose number 2. I use to watch my mom roll flowers back in the day. So I wanted to try to modern approach with Paige Evan's Rolled Flowers. You can find every kind here on her Esty shop page.
I started my layout with a Maggie Holmes sheet of paper that has a wood background. I then just messy painted the back with white acrylic paint. While I let the paint set, I start cutting my flowers. In this months Color Kitz:
Pumpkin Shimmerz
Jolly Green Giant
Hot Fudge Vibez
Tuscan Sun Spritz
An exclusive set of Dotz: Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

Before I rolled and glue my flowers together, I paint each one with 2 coats of each color. This process can take some time, so either take a heating tool to it or just kick back with some Netflix for an hour. Afterwards, your flowers will be ready tote rolled and glued.
After my flowers are all picture perfect, I then hot glue them to my page. These flowers (paint and all) can be heavy, so hot, quick drying glue will be your BFF in these times of need.
The finally tiny touch will be adding the fun Dotz and cute throwback picture of my sweet baby bear on his first Fall.

Thank you so so much for stopping by. Don't delay though. Snag that October Color Kitz before they sell out. Shimmerz also has an all new website. Super user friendly and stunningly beautiful.

Have a wonderful week!
XOXO
-Samantha
