Using Shimmerz March 2025 Color Kitz | Hello Spring by Stephanie Dang

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and I'm back on the blog today to share my next layout using this month’s color kitz. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at https://www.instagram.com/paperandi/ and https://paperandi07.blogspot.com. This set features fun pop of colors like hot pink, lime green, and purple. A few black a white mixture in there to make any layout pop! You will find all supplies to recreate the layout at the bottom of my blog post.

Step 1: Start with black and white floral paper for the background. Trim off 1/4" off each edge of white cardstock, and prep with gesso. Let dry.

Step 2: Take Coloringz (Don't Citron Me), unscrew the spray, and tap on top right of page. Use a brush a add water and move the color around to create an irregular look. Take Coloringz (Pink Stilettos), and repeat the same process by tapping and moving color around center. Last, take this month's exclusive Shimmerz (Stay Posy-tive), add water to the container, and mix with brush. Dab that color on the bottom left of page, and move it by using a brush with water. Let everything dry before adhering this to the background.

Step 3: Add the orange, mustard yellow, pink, green, and blue sticker postage to layout. The two at bottom will slightly layer on top of the other 3 postage above.

Step 4: Add the purple and lime green frames with windows from center to right side of page.

Step 5: Add your photos, and embellish as seen.

Supplies:
• Shimmerz Paints MARCH 2025 Color Kitz, Coloringz (Don't Citron Me), Coloringz (Pink Stilettos), March 2025 Exclusive Color (Stay Posy-tive) white cardstock, foam adhesive, sewing machine and thread, and regular adhesive.

Using Shimmerz February 2025 Color Kitz | Galentines Layout by Stephanie Dang

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and this is my FIRST design team project for Shimmerz Paints. I’m super excited to be sharing my first layout using this month’s color kitz. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at https://www.instagram.com/paperandi/ and https://paperandi07.blogspot.com. The inspiration for my project is rosettes and of course- all classic colors of Valentine’s Day. Galentine edition (wink wink). You will find all supplies to recreate the layout at the bottom of my blog post.

Step 1: Start with a solid dark reddish background. Trim off ¼ an inch on each side of white cardstock, prep with gesso, and let dry.

Step 2: Prepare the 1st Blush (inklingz), Pretty in Pink (Coloringz), and Cardinal Sin (Color Splash) by having water set aside along with a dish to mix colors. Add the colors to the paper by first dipping brush into water and mixing the colors individually on a dish. The more water, the more diluted the color. Tilt paper back and forth along with each color to move the colors around. Add some splatters by dipping brush into the colors and tapping the brush over page. Let dry.

Step 3: Attach to layout and add stitching to the edges.

Step 4: Take the chosen pattern papers, and trim down to the following sizes: 3 inch by 12 inch, 2.50 inch by 12, and 1.5 inch by 12. Score lines on the papers. I score a line about ½ inch, which was a little too big. I would suggest ¼ or smaller, so that it can fit nicely in scrapbook albums. Glue gun the ends together and attach to layout as seen.

Step 5: Use a heart die to die cut photo into a heart. Attach to layout.

Step 6: Embellish as seen using the ephemeras from this kit, coloring fussy cut stamps, and add wrapped thread throughout the layout. Use adhesive foam to pop up a few embellishments for dimension.

Supplies:
• Shimmerz Paints FEBRUARY 2025 Color Kitz, Shimmerz Paints Inklingz (1st Blush), Shimmerz Paints Coloringz (Pretty in Pink), Shimmerz Paints Color Splash (Cardinal Sin *NEW & Exclusive this month), dark reddish cardstock, white cardstock, pink threads, foam adhesive, sewing machine and thread, glue gun with adhesive, and regular adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed my project, and felt inspired to create this yourself by using the February 2025 Color Kitz. Here Comes the Sun - July Color Kitz with Natalie Dill

Happy July, friends! Natalie here with the July color kitz and they are straight fire!

The July Color Kitz include:

  • Frogget Me Not Vibez
  • Caribbean Sunset Spritz
  • Mandarin Mai Tai Coloringz
  • Green Olive Shimmerz
  • *NEW* There She Rose Again Shimmerz
  • 1 exclusive  "Here Comes the Suncut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 set of "So Flocking Excited for Summer" Dotz
  • 1 set of paper poppies.
For this layout, I used clear gesso on the entire sheet of white cardstock. I then cut a circle from the middle of the page and set it aside.

Find my entire process here: https://youtu.be/Vt7_dU5qqlY

I stamped a monstera leaf and palm fronds around the circle border in VersaMark ink and heat embossed the images in white.

I used the Froggert Me Not Vibez and the Green Olive Shimmerz all over the border. I put two layers to obtain the vibrancy seen here. I used a wet paper towel to clean excess paint off the embossed images.

I also sewed around the circle and the page border. I then adhered the border to a patterned striped background.

On the inner circle, I layered the warm colors from Mandarin Mai Tai, Caribbean Spritz to
There She Rose Again Shimmerz. I added a bit of water and swirled the color to all edges of the circle.

I cut the adorable exclusive cut file out of smooth white cardstock. I backed the cut file with a photo of a sunset from Dauphin Island, Alabama.

I popped the cut file off the photo with foam adhesive.

The paper poppies are so pretty! They have a black center, as real poppies do, but for my layout,  I had no other black on the page. So I covered the black middles with white gesso then added orange Nuvo drops on the center to match my page.

I also added a second set of dotz from My Main Squeeze because they matched this Kitz so well!

I clustered the Dotz with a few white palm fronds and the altered poppies and placed them pleasingly around the page.

I had so much fun creating this page with the July Color Kitz! I hope you'll run and grab yours soon. Mention my name, Natalie, for a free gift with your order.

xo, Natalie

I love you Bunches & Bunches! || February Color Kitz with Natalie Dill

Hey friends! Natalie here today using the February color kitz. They're so gorgeous, and perfect for a month of love!

The Kitz contain:

  • Angel Wings Shimmerz
  • Gold-N-Roses Blingz
  • Pink-a-Boo Inklingz
  • *NEW* Cloud Wine Vibez
  • *NEW* Age Before Ruby Coloringz
  • 1 exclusive layered process "Rosezcut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 set of "My Better Half" Dotz
  • 1 package of Rinestonez
  • 1 diamond stencil

I used the Angel Wings Shimmerz to paint the entire background of my gessoed white cardstock to create a shimmering base for my background. Find my entire process video on my channel.

I used a brayer to apply the Cloud Wine and Age before Ruby sprays and Gold-N-Roses Blingz to rose stampts and stamped atop the gessoed background.

I also sprayed the diamond stencil with the Cloud Wine Vibez and used it as a stamp alongside the stamped floral.

I then used a brush and water to fade portions of the stamped background.

While the background dried, I painted the cut file roses I cut out of gessoed cardstock on my Cricut. I added some Ice Sage Inklingz and Olive Branch Spritz to the leaves of the roses. I tinted the petals with Gold-N-Roses Blingz and Pink-a-Boo Inklingz.

I laid out mypage in a diagonal pattern and created a gold title that says "I love you bunches and bunches," since flowers come in bunches.  I used one of the adorable Dotz for the ampersand in the title.

I added some additional foliage to my roses in green and gold. As well as gold and black splatters with gold gems and red pearls.

I hope you go grab your  own February Color Kitz. I can't wait to see what you all make!!

February Color Kitz with Samantha Robles

Happy Monday everyone! I'm so excited to be back creating after being on maternity leave. We'll be using the new February Color Kitz Collection, featuring two new colors.

First, I start with the exclusive cut file found in the kit. These adorable roses! Each rose gets a shade of: "Pink A Boo" Inklingz
"Age Before Ruby" Coloringz
and  Gold-N-Roses Blingz
The cute little leaf petals are then painted with Pining For You Creameez.
Next, I cut out the new "Sweet Heart" cut file. I only wanted to highlight the "sweet" portion so the cut file didn't swallow up my cute girl's photo.
After glueing the pieces together, It's time to back my photo with some paper from Cocoa Vanilla's "Happiness" collection. This pink matches perfectly! I finally add some embellishments from an old stash I had from American Crafts and some sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps.

I cannot rave about the new colors enough! They're simply stunning and a must for any crafter. Supplies will be limited. If you'd like a freebie product from Shimmerz, make sure to drop my name in the comments of your order(s).

Have a happy Monday!

Mixed Media Home Decor with Daisie Scraps

Hi everyone!  Today I have a super easy home decor piece you can create using a cut file and some Shimmerz Paints.

 Products I used:

To start, choose and cut your cut file.  I used Kraft cardstock to create the fall theme I was aiming for.  Next, I traced the cut file onto a white piece of cardstock using a white gel pen.  You could easily use a pencil for this step, just trace lightly so that your lines don't show when finished.

Once everything is traced you can start the fun process of painting in all of the spaces.  This is a great project for new mixed media peeps because if you go outside the lines a bit it won't ruin your project.  The paint is going on the back layer so little mistakes will be covered.  Just be aware of the spacing of the cut files pieces so the colors don't run into nearby shapes.   I also tried to mix up my colors so that like colors were separated a bit.

I chose to use the Blingz Pixie Dust to paint the words on the cut file because I wanted them to be shimmery but neutral.  This is a great option for this because it is white and full of shimmer.  Then I chose a variety of colors in my fall color scheme which includes purple and pinks.  Colors like Gold-N-Roses, Sugar Plum, and Gosh Garnet are fantastic options for fall.

When my paint was dry, I added the kraft piece of cardstock to the top.  I carefully lined up the cut file to the painted pieces and adhered it down.  I used the "off" cuts of the cut file to embellish the remaining kraft cardstock space around the cut file.  This added some texture and interest without taking any attention away from the painted cut file.  To finish, I simply put the whole thing into a 12x12 frame that I had and voila I had a prefect piece for above my mantle!

Head on over to YouTube and check out the process video for more information.  I hope that this inspired everyone to give this technique a try!  Don't forget if you add my name to the comments of your next purchase you will get a mini freebie along with your order!  If you order in the month of November you will get a second freebie of a Turkey Dotz!  So be sure to get your order in soon!

Colorful Autumn | Audrey Yeager

Hello and happy fall!!  One of my most favorite things about living the the Northeastern US is the changing of the seasons.  Our autumns are full of vibrance and color, and I wanted to capture that on my page using my Shimmerz products!

I began by covering my background patterned paper with gesso.  Then I added tried out some yellows mists as a base including Spritz in Chickadee and Tuscan Sun.  Then to deepen the shade, I added a Vibez in Rolling in the Hay.

Using a burst pattern stencil, I then went over the yellow base with some oranges, greens, and red shades including Coloringz Mandarin Mai Tai, Vibez in Palm Reader, and a Spritz in Caribbean Sunset

To add some texture, I started with some Dazzlerz in Coral Me Crazy, and mixed in some Mandarin Mai Tai and Caribbean Sunset to make a brighter orange color.  I used a palette knife to spread it through the stencil. Finally, I added a few splatters of Coloringz in Moody Mauve.

For embellishments, I punched some leaves from colored papers, and backed a cut file for the title.  A few little clusters of some chipboard trees, some wood veneers, and journaling to top it all off!

You can watch the whole process below:

Thank you and happy fall!!

-Audrey

My Super Hero | Samantha Robles

Good morning everyone! Can you believe this is the last full week of September? Boy, it's flown. Pretty soon, I'll have two little people to love on. I'm trying to get all my ideas, photos and scrapping projects on paper before baby number two comes. This layout came from an idea I had of my son and his Spider-Man costume.

I started cutting the "Cityscape" sheet from the new Fancy Pants Collection: Sidekick Optional. Can I tell you how AWESOME it is to have a boy superhero line? I am obsessed with this line. I may or may not have bought everything. Just don't tell my husband that ;)

Back to scrapping, I then use the new Shimmerz Paints "Layered Stars" cut file. The colors I chose for these little stars:

The perfect match of hues! I hot glue my pieces together soon after they finishing drying. Using embellishments from the same Fancy Pants Collection, I tuck the little ephemera's behind the layered stars. I add the finishing touch of using two sets of "Spotz" from the Shimmerz Shop:

and

Thank you so much everyone for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend!
