April 2025 Color Kitz | Hello Spring Layout | Stephanie Dang

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and I'm back on the blog today to share my project using this month’s color kitz. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at https://www.instagram.com/paperandi/ and https://paperandi07.blogspot.com. This kit is so fun and filled with bright cheerful colors. You will find all supplies to recreate the layout at the bottom of my blog post.

Step 1: Start with the black and white paper for the background.  Trim 1/4" off each edge of grid paper. Prep paper with gesso and let dry.

Step 2: Add Orange Sherbet Shimmerz, Mustard Seed Vibez, and this month exclusive kit color: Shimmerz Wee Bit O' Green. Using a brush and water- move those colors around one color at a time with a combo of color and water.

Step 3: Trim green butterfly paper to about 5"x 5".  Trim the diamond paper to  about 3.5" x 5". Trim polka dot paper to about 1" x 6".  I never measure exactly and only eye ball papers to my liking.. so this is a rough estimate. The outcome shouldnt be much of a difference.

Step 4: Layer the papers as seen in photo. Add the photos framed in white cardstock.

Step 5: Play around with embellishments.

Step 6: Add your title and finish with stitching around the borders.

Supplies:
• Shimmerz Paints APRIL 2025 Color Kitz,  Shimmerz Orange Sherbet, Vibez Mustard Seed, Shimmerz Wee Bit O' Green (exclusive kit color), gesso, white cardstock, foam adhesive, sewing machine and thread, and regular adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed my project, and felt inspired to create this yourself by using the April 2025 Color Kitz. Using Shimmerz February 2025 Color Kitz | XOXO Layout by Stephanie Dang

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and this is my SECOND design team project for Shimmerz Paints. I’m super exited to be sharing my next layout using this month’s color kitz. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at https://www.instagram.com/paperandi/ and https://paperandi07.blogspot.com. Cuteness overload is what I have to say about this layout along with this month’s kit. It is filled with adorable classic Valentine’s Day images that you really don’t have to use it for a lover. I will show you how I use this collection to document my nephew. You will find all supplies to recreate the layout at the bottom of my blog post.

Step 1: Start with the outline of hearts background, prep with white gesso towards bottom, and let dry.

Step 2: I took the curvy background paper and trimmed off the access, and set it aside. This will go towards the bottom left of my page after I am done with mixed media.

Step 3: I added Gladiola (Vibez) color to my page using water and a brush. Also add a few splatters by tapping my brush. I only did enough for it to show pass my photos and potential embellishment spots.

Step 4: I added stiching to the curvy background. Then I added the curvy background to my page to create a pocket. I added stiching along the edges of my layout.

Step 5: I added my photos framed in white cardstock.

Step 6: I embellish my page as seen with ephemeras from the kit, and butterflies that I found from a local scrapbook store. Add dimensional adhesive along the way to make it pop. I finished my layout with gold bling and “Lips” Dotz (by Shimmerz Paints).

January 2022 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today with a new layout using the super gorgeous January 2022 Color Kitz.  Make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post!  Here's my layout, I hope you like it!

To start, I added some gesso to a piece of thick white cardstock and got to work on my background.  I used the Don't Rain on My Parade Vibez and Corney Flower Blue Inklingz along with my small brayer.  I painted and splattered both colors on making sure to blend here and there.  I cut the cut file out on white textured cardstock and once it was finished cutting, I sprayed the Pretty in Pink Coloringz on the large part of the camera and painted the Peaches and Cream Shimmerz and Cheeky Pink Creameez onto the florals/leaves.

Once my cut file was finished drying, I backed it with vellum.  I then took the inner part of the camera lens and created a shaker with the Sparklez Glitter.  It made the lens look super sparkly and pretty!

Next, I adhered the cut file down on my background and started creating my embellishment clusters.  I had a few floral pieces that I used as a base and then added in my Dotz from the kit.  This months color kit is super wintery and it matches perfectly with the December Hip Kit Club kits.

Here's another photo of a cute cluster:

One more shot of my painted cut file:

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Make sure to check out my process video down below and add my name to the notes/comments section of all of your Shimmerz orders to receive a small freebie!  See you next month!

Simple Painted Holiday Cards with Daisie Scraps

Hi everyone!  Today I am sharing a set of cards that I created using my Shimmerz Paints.  I had so

much fun just painting!  These are simple designs that you can either free-hand or even trace and paint.

Supplies Used:

I started by dividing my 12x12 Kraft cardstock into 6- 4x6 bases.  I started with the darkest color I was

using, Penny 4 Your Thoughts, and added some base elements to a few spaces.  This was a great

shimmery color that was perfect for a tree branch and some pine cones.

Next I went in with the greens.  I just added designs that I thought would look good.  A few sprigs and

some leaves.  I used Buddy’s Favorite color to create poinsettias.  The Blingz were perfect for some shiny

baubles on a wreath and more pine cones (that ended up looking like leaves).  I had one base left so I

painted a super easy tree using the Blue Lagoon.  It turned out so sparkly and pretty!

After everything was dry, I went in and added some doodle elements to each card using my Pitt Artist pen.
I outlined the pine cones, added a trunk to the tree, outlined the poinsettias and just added detail where I
thought it was needed.

After I was happy with the cards, I sent the whole sheet through my silhouette.  I used various fonts from
my computer to embellish my sentiments.  I had the Silhouette cut out the cards for me and had it shave
¼ of an inch off so that it would fit on the base with a nice border. The only thing left was adhering everything
 to the 4x6 base.

I created a process video to show how the cards were created.  I would love to have you check it out!
Don’t forget you can add my name (Daisie) to the comments of your next order to receive a fun freebie
with your order!

Hey friends! Natalie here with some inspo for your June Color Kitz.

The June 2021 Color Kitz include:
  • Sapphire Spritz
  • Powder Puff Spritz
  • Elfin' Magic Vibez
  • Strawberry Fieldz Creameez
  • Great Fruit Creameez
  • 1 exclusive  "Sunshine in My Pocketcut file created by Shimmerz Paints. Available in JPEG, SVG and PNG format in a zip folder.
  • 1 set of "Oh My Heart" Dotz
  • 1 set of 4 customizable watercolor journaling cards.
So much product - it's a truly great deal!

I loved using this kit to create a landscape layout. I made a sky and a garden and place a photo of my son in the garden! Find the full process video on my channel.

I applied texture paste for the bottom grass through a stencil from a past Color Kitz collection and for the sky through a phrased Vicki Boutin stencil. I used Ranger matte texture paste.

I then sprayed the Elfin' Magic on the grassy area with a bit of additional water to allow the color to flow through the dry texture.

I used the same technique with the Sapphire in the sky area.

After the areas dried, I went back and added additional splatter.

I coated water color paper with two layers of the Great Fruit and Strawberry Fields creameez. after it dried, I used the papers to die cut multiple florals.

I used the Shimelle Never Grow Up collection to add die cuts and stickers to my page and it matched this Color Kit perfectly!

I hope you'll grab your kit before it's gone! Find it in the Shimmerz store. Mention my name for a free gift with purchase.

xo, Natalie

May 2021 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here with you today and I'm super happy to share my newest layout using the gorgeous May 2021 Color Kitz!  Here's my layout:

For $27.95 + shipping, this is what you get in this months kit:
*NEW* Rule of Plum Vibez
Daffodil Creameez
Lettuce Get Together Creameez
Sugar Plum Shimmerz
Meet Me @ Sunset Inklingz
1 exclusive layered process "Blooming Ideazcut file created by Shimmerz Paints
1 set of Dotz
1 package of Baby Rosez

To start, I cut the exclusive cut file from the kit out on some textured white cardstock and then painted it using Sugar Plum, Rule of Plum and Lettuce Get Together.  This cut file is super intricate so I thought it would pop more if I painted it.  While it was drying, I started working on my background by painting both Daffodil and Meet Me @ Sunset onto a piece of thick white cardstock.

Next, I popped the entire cut file up on foam adhesive and adhered it down to my background.  The new Vicki Boutin Color Study collection matches perfectly with this kit so I used it to embellish my layout.

I ended up painting the Rosez using both the purples and yellows in the kit.  They turned out so pretty and shimmery!

I originally just wanted the yellows from the kit to be on my background, but I did end up adding some splatters with the purples.  I also pulled in a Coloringz in Night Moves from my stash to bring in some pops of black.

After adding in a few fussy cut flowers, my title and a subtitle, I layered in the Dotz from the kit and tangled thread under each one.

Here's another up close shot!

To see how this layout came together and for an up close view of each product in the May Kitz, check out my process video below!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that I've inspired you in some way today.  Don't forget to add my name in the notes/comments section of your next order to receive a free gift!  See you in my next post!

April 2021 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!!  Brianna Lepper back with you today sharing a new layout using the oh so amazing and beautiful April 2021 Color Kitz.  This month, we get two new exclusive sprays!!  For $26.95 + shipping, here's what you get in this months kit:

It's Mint to Be Shimmerz
*NEW* Sweet Baby Girl Shimmeringz
Pixie Dust Blingz
*NEW* So Blue-ti-ful Spritz
1 exclusive layered process "Some Bunny Loves Youcut file created by Shimmerz Paints
1 set of Dotz
1 package of *EXCLUSIVE* Spiegelmom Scraps Sequins "Baby Stella"

Here's my layout, make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post:

I had so much fun with the kit this month!   The colors are beautiful and the two new sprays that we get are stunning!  To start, I cut the exclusive cut file out on a piece of white textured cardstock using my Silhouette.  I also offset and cut the backing pieces since I planned on adding lots of color to them.  In doing this, it made backing the cut file so much easier in the end!  I love backing cut files with mixed media, have you given it a try?

Next, I got to work on my background.  I prepped a piece of thick white cardstock with gesso and painted all of the colors from the kit right onto it.  When I started painting on the Blingz Pixie Dust, I made sure to scoop a lot of the paint onto my brush to make sure I had TONS of shimmer and shine.

Once my painted backing pieces were finished drying, I went ahead and backed my cut file.  Then using the SpiegelMom sequins that we get in the kit, I created shakers in all of the "O's" in the cut file.  I love making shakers in a cut file, it's so fun and this sequin mix is so cute!!

Next, I popped up the entire cut file on some foam tape and adhered it down to my background.  Then I took the Dotz from the kit and added some tangled thread underneath each one.  I love the texture and interest that it gives!

I embellished the rest of my page using the new Garden Party collection by Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper.  Talk about the perfect match!!

Here's one more up close shot!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope I've inspired you in some way!  When you place your next Shimmerz order, make sure to add my name to the notes/comments section of your order and you'll receive a small freebie!  See you in my next post!
