June 2025 Color Kitz | Mermaid Life | Stephanie Dang

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and I'm back on the blog today to share my project using this month’s color kitz. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at https://www.instagram.com/paperandi/ and https://paperandi07.blogspot.com. This kit is so fun and filled with beautiful aquatic colors. You will find all supplies to recreate the layout at the bottom of my blog post.

Step 1: Start with the multi-color artistic background, layout with white cardstock that has been prepped with gesso.

Step 2: Using a waterbrush and water, add the following colors: Spritz (Walkin' A Tight Heliotrope) and Shimmerz (Peacock's Plume). Adding more water if necessary to move the colors around. Note: do one color at a time and let dry.

Step 3: Frame photo in white. Add a layer of aquatic paper behind photo along with a strip of stripe purple paper towards bottom. Everyone's photo is different and of different size, so adjust accordingly and trim.

Step 4: Add larger embellishments as seen and then smaller embellishments to follow. Use foam adhesive to create dimension to layout.

Supplies:
• Shimmerz Paints JUNE 2025 Color Kitz,  Spritz (Walkin' A Tight Heliotrope), Shimmerz (Peacock's Plume), gesso, white cardstock, foam adhesive, enamels, and regular adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed my project, and felt inspired to create this yourself by using the June 2025 Color Kitz. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at https://www.instagram.com/paperandi/ and https://paperandi07.blogspot.com. Make Any Scrapbook Theme Match Your Style | Melissa Minor

Today I'm showing how you can make any scrapbook theme match your style. I'm using the June 2025 Color Kitz. It's a beautiful kit full of adorable underwater and mermaid themed ephemera. But what do you do when you don't have any beach or swimming photos to scrapbook?

I drew inspiration from the colors in the kit. I started by applying some clear gesso to a white 12x12 background paper. I then pulled out my favorite colors of paint in the kit. I love the Jeni B Bleu-Vibez and Peacock's Plume-Shimmerz. All the colors are gorgeous but these 2 are my favorites! I added these 2 colors going down the center of the page. Then I tore one of the pattern papers and added a strip to each side right and left with the paint showing in the center.

I backed my photos with the pretty patterned purple flower paper. I adhered my photos using some wet tacky glue. Then I turned to my collection of dies. I pulled out some flower dies and leaf dies. I cut several different flowers in various sizes from a piece of the patterned paper. I also die cut some using some cardstock and painted to match the colors I already had used on the layout.

I pulled out a few pieces of ephemera from the June kit that matched and that were non-themed. I mixed the hearts into the flower clusters. I also made a few messy tangled thread nests and adhered behind the epoxy flair button. For my title I used an acrylic title from the stash. A few sequins and pearls and this layout is complete!

Mermaid Vibes | Shimmerz Paints | Brandy Vaughn

Hello friends! I'm back with my first layout using the June Color Kit from Shimmerz Paints. This kit is whimsical and youthful, so I chose to use a vintage technique for my photo for this layout.

I went straight for the wavy water coloring piece. I wanted to create a fantasy underwater scene, so I sprayed down the entire piece with Vibes in Jeni B Blue. Then I added splashes of Shimmerz Peacock's Plume and finished it off by painting some of the water stripes with Shimmerz Stay Golden.

Next, I chose the paper with golden splatters that resemble sand or golden sea foam for me. I adhered the waves to the bottom of the page with the golden splashes popping up from behind the waves. I fussy cut my subject out of my photo and placed her just behind one of the waves.

Then I start tucking in the embellishment from the kit, including the mermaid tails. I cut a slit in the one of the waves to tuck the blue tail inside of.

I made sure to incorporate those adorable seahorses, too!

At this point, the top of the page was empty, and I couldn't just leave it that way, but I wanted what was there to make sense with what I had already created, so I grabbed a stencil from my stash. I sprayed on sun rays with Coloringz No Yolking and Spritz You're the Zest from my stash. But to keep with the fantasy world, I chose to punch out a heart for my sun. I used the same yellows to color the heart.

Finally, I chose my title piece and some embellishment to cluster around it. That wraps up another layout with Shimmerz Paints. I hope you enjoy it.

Don't forget to add my name to your Shimmerz Paints order for a FREE product.

xoxo
Brandy

For The Shimmerz Paints Design Team: Why Fit In When You Were Born To Stand Out?

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new page for the amazing Shimmerz Paints! Go and see all the fun                                                                         treasures there!

To make this page, I stenciled Prima Platinum Texture Paste with a small spatula onto watercolor paper. I taped on watercolor paper under the image to make it stronger and to lie flat, and made a mat also. I took a piece of corrugated cardboard, ripped some of the paper off, and brushed on white gesso.
I sprinkled on ultra thick embossing powder into the wet gesso and heated it with a heat gun.
I added layers of corrugated cardboard in between the layers, and glued on beads and other items. I brushed on Shimmerz Paints. I rubbed on gold, aqua, and pearl mica powder on different  areas.

To add visual interest I added microbeads, seed beads, glass beads, sequins, tulle, lace, iridescent wrapping paper, sisal, crystals, feathers, glass glitter, chipboard, and bling and metal from my stash.
Many of the items are glued on individually with Glossy Accents.

Thank you so much for looking, and have a great week!
