April 2025 Color Kitz | My Sunshine Layout | Stephanie Dang

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and I'm back on the blog today to share my next project using this month’s color kitz. If you would like to see more of my work or follow me, please find me at https://www.instagram.com/paperandi/ and https://paperandi07.blogspot.com. What better way to welcome spring than a layout filled with fun colors and cute images? You will find all supplies to recreate the layout at the bottom of my blog post.

Step 1: Start with blue stripe paper for background. Trim 1/4" inch off each edge of the orange grid paper. Prep with white gesso around center. Let dry.

Step 2: Add Wee Bit O Green Shimmerz, Pip-Pip Cerry-O Shimmerz, and Born to Be Blue Coloringz to page using brush with water. Adding splatters with each color that you use. Add your photos framed in white cardstock.

Step 3: Color in the sun, umbrella, hot air balloon, boots, and frog. Add them to layout as seen.

Step 4: Add the rest of the embellishments such as the tab, title, phrase, and tree.

Step 5: Add all enamels and dotz (Spring). Finish with stitching on the tab and around the border of layout.

Supplies:
• Shimmerz Paints APRIL 2025 Color Kitz,  Wee Bit O' Green Shimmerz (this month's exclusive kit color), Pip-Pip Cherry-O Shimmerz, Born To Be Blue Coloringz (this month's exclusive kit color), gesso, white cardstock, foam adhesive, sewing machine and thread, and regular adhesive.

April Color Kitz | No Meat | Melissa Minor

Hi crafty friends! Melissa Minor @cards.by.melissaminor here on the blog today. I'm excited to share a new layout with you. I used the gorgeous April Color Kitz. I love that the kit is filled with beautiful florals this month. My layout came together very quickly. I decided to use a 3 photo one-page sketch that I purchased from Scrapbook Generation designed by Allison Davis.
I started by cutting the patterned papers according to the sketch design measurements. Then I corner rounded the edges that weren't flush against the edges of my background paper. I next applied some of Shimmerz Paints Clear Gesso with my fingertips in two areas. I took a paintbrush and dipped into Mustard Seed-Vibez. My page isn't heavy with mixed media. I have just a touch.

I pulled out the yellow florals from the ephemera package. I also used the Hello Spring and of course the super cute Dotz with the sun on it. For my title I used Thickers from my stash to spell the words "No Meat" since I'm documenting photos of a Friday night dinner during Lent. I finished my title with one of the puffy stickers from the kit that says today. I love the way this layout came out. Using a sketch made it come together very quickly.

Every Moment Matters Using the April Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all, Nicole here with a fun page I made with the April Color Kitz Bundle.  I am documenting a selfie that I took all the way back in December!

I made this background during my unboxing video earlier this month.  You can watch that here: Unboxing the April Color Kitz Bundle

After I made the background, I cut some triangles out of 4 of the patterned papers to make this burst effect along with the paint.  I also matted my photo on the orange patterned paper from the kit.

I then added some embellishments from the kit to complete my page.  You can watch my process for this layout here: April Shimmerz Process Video

Thanks so much for coming on to read about my layout.  I hope it gives you some ideas on how to use your kit.  If you decide to grab anything from the Shimmerz shop, don't forget to add my name Nicole to the shopping cart notes to get a little freebie with your order!

Until next time, Nicole Santos

Hello, friends! I'm so excited to return with a new layout using the very bright and colorful April 2025 Color Kitz!

I really wanted to feature all of these fun patterns, so I chose to use lots of layers. There was really no rhyme or reason to the size and shape of my layers. I just started cutting, and this is where it landed me.

I knew that I wanted to add some mixed media peeking out from behind the large cluster, so I glued all the pieces together for me to move it around as one piece.

I pulled out a stencil from my stash and used a sponge painting technique to add Vibez in Mustard Seed to my page in a more controlled manner.

Then I reached for a few ephemera pieces to finish off my clusters and finally completed my layout with a little bit of journaling.

I hope this inspires you to dive into your mixed-media stash and start playing. You check out the Shimmerz Shop for more information on this awesome kit. If you make a purchase, don't forget to add my name to your order for a FREE Shimmerz product!

For The Shimmerz Paints Design Team, Sunshine And Spring

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new page for the amazing Shimmerz Paints! Go and see all the fun                       treasures there!

To make this page, I stenciled Prima Platinum Texture Paste with a small spatula onto watercolor paper. I taped on watercolor paper under the image to make it stronger and to lie flat, and made a mat also. I took a piece of corrugated cardboard, ripped some of the paper off, and brushed on white gesso.  I added layers of corrugated cardboard in between the layers. I taped on  flowers, chipboard, and taped and glued on beads and other items. I brushed on Shimmerz Paints.I made thin layers of them. I rubbed on gold and pearl mica powder on different  areas.

I made the flowers out of polyester chiffon, there are six layers of three different sizes. I dyed them with Peacock's Plume, then held each layer over a candle to make the edges curl up. I sewed the layers together and glued a pearl on. I tried doing the edges before I dyed the layers, and it worked much better. The paint burns very easily and the edges got blackened.

To add visual interest I added microbeads, seed beads, glass beads, sequins, sisal, tulle, crystals,a shell, pearls, glass glitter, chipboard, flowers, and bling and metal from my stash.
Many of the items are glued on individually with Glossy Accents.
