Hello (Kitty) Using the May Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all, Nicole here with my first layout using the May Color Kitz Bundle.  I am documenting my sweet kitty cat Malcolm... he actually stole my spot on the couch here, but I could never be mad at him, I'll just sit somewhere else :)

I started this layout by using all the paints that come in the kit this month.  I just brushed them on the paper in big strokes.  The paints are absolutely beautiful!

I then used papers from the kit that are the same colors as the paints to add to my layout.  I tore little strips and popped them up on the strips of paint.

Next I used die cuts, stickers, and one of the dotz to add my embellishing with like colors again!  I finished this layout by adding my journaling and some little doodle hearts.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  I hope it gets you in the mood to use your paints!  You can grab the kitz here and don't forget to use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a little freebie with your order... Color Kitz Bundle

Until next time, Nicole

DIY Painted Embellishments | May Color Kitz | Melissa Minor

Hi crafty friends! I am so excited to share a new layout with you. I used the beautiful May Color Kitz. Everything included in the kit is perfect for documenting Spring memories. I love the floral patterned paper included in the kit. I wanted to bring more attention to it. So, I decided to make some floral embellishments that matched the paper. I dug through my stash and pulled out an old Close to My Heart die set (this company is now closed). I painted a sheet of mixed media cardstock with the Bahama Mama Inklingz. I painted another sheet using Olive Branch Spritz. These are both available in the May 2025 Paint Kit. Then I used my dies and created flower embellishments. I added a little extra detail to the flowers by brushing a hint of orange with Punkin Pie. I think the floral embellishment clusters turned out gorgeous!
Next I started working on my layout. I used a cut file that I purchased from Scrapbook Generation/Allison Davis titled Triangle Pattern #2. A few of the triangles that I cut out I painted using Butter Believe It-Shimmerz. I love the sparkle and shine that the Shimmerz Paints adds. Some of my triangles have the floral patterned paper and others have the Butter Believe It. I adhered this to my page behind 2 other strips of the patterned paper included in the Color Kitz.
I pulled out a few embellishments that matched the paper and adhered to the layout using foam tape. I also used a few of the sequins from the May 2025 Bonus Bundle. I have a full tutorial on YouTube linked below.

As a reminder, you can add my name Melissa Minor to the notes section of your order and Shimmerz will send you a free paint! You can add my name to every order you place and each time earn another free paint!

Celebrate | Brandy Vaughn | May 2024 Color Kitz

I have been waiting for the perfect products to come along for this photo. I knew instantly the May Color Kitz are exactly what I had been waiting for.

I went straight for the color page and painted some roses then fussy cut them. I pulled out the other roses and some leaves from the ephemera pack. Then I decided that the scalloped cut file would make a beautiful frame for the photo.

Once I arranged the flowers and leaves where I wanted them, I dipped a paintbrush in the Spritz "Powder Puff" and added some more color coming out from under the florals. Then I added my title and some gems and this one was done. It came together so quickly and easily!

I would love for you to check out my process video below. Also, if you make a purchase and add my name to the comment section of your order you will receive a FREE product!
Have a lovely, crafty day!
xoxo
Brandy

Hello Summer | Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz May 2022 | Lorimar Ortega

Hello Shimmerz Paints Fans!

Today's layout features the oh-so-stunning May Color Kitz (click on the name to grab it before it sells out). I decided to focus on the colors, vellum flowers, and dots for my layout, but know that there are 2 cut files included with your purchase. Also, remember to type my name (Lorimar) in the comments section of your next order to be able to receive a freebie!

Let's get started with the process. I began with a non-gessoed sheet of white cardstock and sprayed No Yolking and Palm Reader in a grid-like format; then, I splattered For Shore and Meet Me At Sunset on top. While this dried, I dove into my stash and picked out embellishments which were green, yellow, or neutral in color AND/OR had a summer-y feel to them. For an extra pop of color, I colored the vellum flowers with Palm Reader and Here I Yam.

The arrangement of my layout is basically a grid format with the larger photo on the upper right-hand quadrant and the smaller ones in the center and lower left hand side. The bigger embellishments were nestled into the open spaces and the rest were arranged around those. The vellum flowers were layered beneath some of the embellishments in places that needed a pop of orange and green. I was inspired by the cut files from the color kit to use up some lemons and I was so thankful that I had stashed them. Then I popped some Dots around the layout. To finish off my layout, I wrote the journaling with a green marker and added some doodles here and there as well, and splattered Here I Yam and For Shore to tie everything together.

That's it! I had loads of fun with this layout and hope that I've inspired you!
Take care,
- Lorimar

May 2022 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends! Brianna here today sharing a new layout using the super gorgeous May 2022 Color Kitz!  This months kit is so bright and happy, you'll want to use it to document all of your Summer memories.  Here's my layout, make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post:

I thought it would be fun to change it up a bit and I only used the positive pieces from the title cut file.  I painted each one using the colors from the kit and outlined them in black faux stitching to make sure they stood out from everything else.

I popped them all up on foam tape and set them aside.  It's such a fun phrase for a title!

One more photo of the letters:

Next, I created my background by spraying the Vibez Palm Reader and painting on the Shimmerz Here I Yam around the page.  I spritzed water and let the colors run and blend.  I even added a bit of the Creameez For Shore for some extra shimmer.

I took one of the lemon cluster cut files and offset the inner lemon pieces so that they were sized perfectly when I went to back it.  I painted them using the Coloringz No Yoking and Inklingz Meet Me @ Sunset.  I painted the leaves using Palm Reader.

After everything was adhered down, I matted my photo and put it down next to my cut file title.  I added some ephemera and included one of the Dotz.

Here's another cluster:

One more final shot of this fun layout:

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way!  Make sure to add my name to the notes/comments section of all of your Shimmerz orders and you'll receive a free gift!  See you next month friends!

May 2021 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here with you today and I'm super happy to share my newest layout using the gorgeous May 2021 Color Kitz!  Here's my layout:

For $27.95 + shipping, this is what you get in this months kit:
*NEW* Rule of Plum Vibez
Daffodil Creameez
Lettuce Get Together Creameez
Sugar Plum Shimmerz
Meet Me @ Sunset Inklingz
1 exclusive layered process "Blooming Ideazcut file created by Shimmerz Paints
1 set of Dotz
1 package of Baby Rosez

To start, I cut the exclusive cut file from the kit out on some textured white cardstock and then painted it using Sugar Plum, Rule of Plum and Lettuce Get Together.  This cut file is super intricate so I thought it would pop more if I painted it.  While it was drying, I started working on my background by painting both Daffodil and Meet Me @ Sunset onto a piece of thick white cardstock.

Next, I popped the entire cut file up on foam adhesive and adhered it down to my background.  The new Vicki Boutin Color Study collection matches perfectly with this kit so I used it to embellish my layout.

I ended up painting the Rosez using both the purples and yellows in the kit.  They turned out so pretty and shimmery!

I originally just wanted the yellows from the kit to be on my background, but I did end up adding some splatters with the purples.  I also pulled in a Coloringz in Night Moves from my stash to bring in some pops of black.

After adding in a few fussy cut flowers, my title and a subtitle, I layered in the Dotz from the kit and tangled thread under each one.

Here's another up close shot!

To see how this layout came together and for an up close view of each product in the May Kitz, check out my process video below!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that I've inspired you in some way today.  Don't forget to add my name in the notes/comments section of your next order to receive a free gift!  See you in my next post!

Color Kitz May Collection | Brianna Lepper

Hey y'all!  Brianna Lepper here with my layout this month using the May Color Kitz!  The kit this month has the prettiest colors!  Here's what comes in each kit!

A Bright Fuchsia Coloringz: A new exclusive color to this kit. This color is a vibrant pink color spray with red undertones and no shimmer.
Mustard Seed Vibez
Angels Kiss Inklingz
Paradise Punch Creameez
Moulin Rouge Shimmerz
1 exclusive Blooming Butterfly cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
1 set of Silver embellishing floss
1 set of "Sweet Thing" Dotz

1 set of Watercolor Butterfly Ephemera stickers

I loved working with this kit and loved all of the pinks with the pop of yellow.  Here's my layout, I hope you like it!

To start, I cut the Blooming Butterfly cut file out twice on some textured white cardstock.  I sized one of them large and the other one small.  I wanted to have the large butterfly be a main focus with the smaller one as an accent piece.  When they were finished cutting, I applied some white gesso onto each one.  Then I started painting on the colors from the kit.

Starting with the Bright Fuchsia Coloringz, I sprayed it directly onto the large butterfly and then went in with the lighter colors in the kit.  The Paradise Punch Creameez is so beautiful!!  The Angel's Kiss Inklingz has so much shimmer, it's stunning!

Since I applied gesso on both butterflies, the paints were able to blend nicely together instead of being soaked up into the paper.  I then took the Mustard Seed Vibez and sprayed it onto the smaller butterfly and blended some of the pinks out towards the bottom.  While the butterflies were drying, I took all of the colors from the kit and splattered them around the page.

I then adhered the butterflies to my page, being careful not to add glue to the entire pieces.  I wanted to make sure parts of them would pop up and give my page some dimension.  The Sweet Thing Dotz are so cute!  I scattered them around my page and made sure to tangle up some of the silver embroidery floss from the kit underneath each one.

Next, I took a few of the butterfly ephemera stickers in matching colors and added those around my page as well.

I just love all of the texture and dimension on this page!  I love how intricate the cut file is and when adding color to it, it just makes it pop so much more.  I added some patterned papers underneath my photos and embellished with a few stickers and puffy stickers here and there.

Check out my process video below for a more step by step process.  Also, don't forget to add my name in the comments/notes section of your order and you'll receive a free gift!  See you next month when I create a new layout using the June Color Kitz!
