Look which new Pearlz color just "Blue Into Town"!!
These new Pearlz colors are the perfect addition to the Shimmerz family. There are so many rich colors to choose from! Within all the Shimmerz product lines, my favorite colors are the various shades of blue – Sea Foam and Sapphire Spritz, Jeni-B-Blue Vibez, Tickle-Me-Turquoise Shimmerz – so it was no surprise that my favorite of all the new Pearlz colors is Blue Into Town (don’t ya just love that name??!!!). Here’s a layout I made with the new Blue Into Town Pearlz alongside some of my other favorite Shimmerz products. I paired them up with some beautiful Teresa Collins papers and gorgeous Petaloo flowers:
The new Pearlz look great by themselves, but you can also pair them up with acrylic paint for a neat effect. To create a vibrant photo frame, I first outlined the photo area with teal acrylic paint. Once that was dry, I added Blue Into Town Pearlz around the outside of the frame.
I also used Blue Into Town Pearlz on some of these lovely Petaloo flowers. The rich Blue ones were colored with the Pearlz, and the other flowers were colored with either Sea Foam and Sapphire Spritz or Wintergreen Shimmerz. I added a little white glitter on top of a few of the flowers.
I can’t wait to play with all the new Pearlz colors. I think that Carrot Top is calling my name!!

Handmade
My sweet mom decided to take up sewing a few years ago so that she could make clothes for my girls. She went out and bought a fancy machine and took sewing lessons, and since then she has made many beautiful dresses and skirts for my daughters. This layout features a picture of my daughters wearing the first dresses Grandma made for them.
I cut out a dressform shape and used it as a mask with Red-Y-Or-Not Shimmerz Vibez. I outlined my masked and "Vibez'd" dressform with a little Stickles. It was the perfect spot for my journaling:
The papers are by Cosmo Cricket, and I cut the dressform shape from a sheet of Prima canvas.

Pearlz and Teresa Collins
Just wanted to share with you all some pictures from the Teresa Collins booth at CHA. She was showing off her gorgeous new lines and the new Shimmerz Pearlz.....what a gorgeous combination!!
Stacy and I had the opportunity to meet with Teresa in her booth and get some pictures. :)

And some shots from inside Teresa's booth.....Shimmerz Pearlz was featured on many of the gorgeous projects!

And our very own display of the Pearlz right in her booth!! Stephanie Ackerman used Pearls on the gorgeous roses she created in many of the projects and taught with Pearlz in the classes at CHA!

A picture of me and sweet Stephanie....she is so creative!!

Shimmerz made quite a splash at CHA, even though we didn't have a booth! I can't wait to see what is in store for Shimmerz this year!

Lots of Shimmery Goodness!
Here's a layout I made using Prima's stitched papers and lots of Shimmerz, Blingz and Spritz. Shimmerz products look so pretty on Prima's thick mulberry papers.
I love these pictures of my husband and daughter at play on the beach during one of our annual family photo shoots.

I went to town with Shimmerz on this page. I painted the edge of the stitched paper with Tickle-Me-Turquoise Shimmerz. I used Pixie Dust Blingz on the torn paper "waves" and on the white Prima flower.

And what beach page would be complete without Sea Foam Spritz?? I used the Prima butterfly as a mask and sprayed Sea Foam Spritz over it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spritz on burlap
I love to play with Spritz on fabric. On this layout I sprayed Sea Foam and Eucalyptus Spritz on strips of burlap. I cut out a "frame" from the patterned paper, then I tucked the burlap strips underneath the frame for a little extra added color and texture.

This is me and my daugther. There is nothing better in the world than having her little arms wrapped around me. Oh how I ADORE this little girl!!!
The papers and the chipboard alphas and arrow are from Bo Bunny.

Free Spirit
Happy Saturday!! I have a layout to share today. This page features pictures of my sweet daughter.

I created the mat for the doily by tracing and cutting out the shape from a piece of white Bazzill cardstock. I then sprayed it with Sea Foam Spritz and painted the edges with Tickle-Me-Turquoise Shimmerz (my two favorite colors lately!).
Let me tell you, I have SO much cardstock in my scrapbooking stash (Bazzill, Core'dinations, DCWV and more), and I probably have every color under the sun. But there is no cardstock as vibrant or as shimmery as white cardstock that has been sprayed with Spritz! That's why I often like to make my own bling cardstock by "Spritzing" away. A little Spritz goes a long way . . . I saturated this whole piece of cut cardstock with Sea Foam Spritz and it barely made a dent in my bottle.
The products on this page are from the A Million Memories November kit. The papers and some of the flowers are from Prima (I made the rolled flowers), and the alphas and chipboard frame are from American Crafts.
Have a fantastic weekend!!

A (not so) spooky Halloween layout
I love this time of year . . . my girls have been busy with fun Halloween festivities at their schools and parties and they can't wait to go trick-or-treating. And I'm looking forward to capturing some great pictures of them in their costumes. The fact that there will be lots of yummy candy all around is an added bonus (I happen to have a major sweet tooth!).
Here is a Halloween layout I created with Shimmerz that was recently published in the October (and the last) issue of Memory Makers magazine. I was honored to have my page included in their very last issue.

Since no layout is complete without a little shimmer and shine, I used Coffee Shimmerz on the jagged edge of the paper to give it some extra sparkle.

Have a Happy Halloween!!!!

A little more pink
I wanted to post another pink layout before the month comes to an end. Here's a page I made featuring a special picture of my "sleeping beauties." The journaling reads: One night when Daddy was out of town, I let you girls sleep in bed with me. I caught this special moment when you two were sleeping in the same position facing each other. Your bodies formed a perfect heart. Even when you’re sleeping, you girls are magically connected . . . heart to heart.

I used Spritz to dye the Prima flowers -- Bed of Rose for the pink one and Sea Foam for the blue one. I painted the chipboard alphas and the edges of the leaves with Hi Ho Silver Shimmerz.

Sleep tight tonight and don't let the bed bugs bite!!

In the pink
I have a "pink" layout to share today!
One of my favorite ways to use Shimmerz paint and Spritz is to use them to color white Prima flowers.

I sprayed the flower with Bed of Roses Spritz, then I painted the edges of the petals with Pink Shimmerz paint for a little extra definition. For the blue flower, I sprayed it with Eucalyptus Spritz and painted the edges with Under the Sea.
The papers are from Webster's Pages' "Postcards from Paris" line. The photo was taken by Melissa Walker-Scott.
Have a fantastic day!!

Frolic
I just love all the great projects everyone has posted using the beautiful new fall vintage colors!!
Here's another project I made using some of the new colors. I was lucky enough to be the guest designer for Pencil Lines sketch challenge blog last week, and this was the layout I made to go along with the sketch I created for them:

I used Treasured Hymn Spritz and Antique Lace Shimmerz paint on the Prima felt border, and I used Rock-a-fella blue and Sapphire Spritz on the flowers and the butterfly.

I added some crocheting and a little glitter for good measure. The papers are from Webster's Pages (I was thrilled to also be their guest designer last month!).
Thanks so much for letting me share!

A rainbow of Spritz!
I had an idea for Spritz: I used removable Scotch tape as a mask.

I simply added strips of scotch tape to white cardstock in a criss-cross pattern. I made sure the tape strips were nice and secure, then I sprayed four different colors of Spritz over the tape. I used Plum Pudding, Sapphire, Sea Foam and Olive Branch. I pulled off the tape, then I stitched around the edge to give it some definition. I was left with this beautiful white criss-cross pattern surrounded by a sea of rainbow Spritz!
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

A little sunshine
I hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day weekend! Before we say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn, I want to share this little "sunshiny" card.

I used Tickle-Me-Turquoise and Key Lime Shimmerz on white cardstock to make it blend in with the patterned paper.
