Fun Right Here | May 2021 Color Kitz | Niki Rowland with Process Video

Hi everyone, this is Niki (@nikiclairecreates) here with you today with a new layout and video (see below) using the May 2021 Color Kitz. This kit is awesome! I adore the colours. The Kitz contains five colours of Shimmerz Paint: Rule of Plum Vibez, Sugar Plum Shimmerz, Lettuce Get Together Creameez, Daffodil Creameez and Meet Me @Sunset Inklingz. The Kitz also includes an exclusive cut file, a set of three Dotz and a pack of cute little paper flowers.

I started off with the cut file. I cut it three times in white card in three different sizes. I then cut backing pieces for each one from Marshmallow cardstock. I then painted these backing pieces with three colours: Rule of Plum Vibez, Sugar Plum Shimmerz, Lettuce Get Together Creameez. Once dry I attached the cut file on top of each backing piece using wet glue and I also stitched around them with my sewing machine.

I then created a yellow background on a piece of Marshmallow card. I began with the beautiful Daffodil Creameez paint. I activated it with water and let it sit for a while so I had lots of lovely right paint and then I used a wide paintbrush to paint a very large area of colour on the right side of my layout. When that had dried a bit, I applied Meet Me @ Sunset to the background too, mostly around the edges of the yellow area I had created already and then I also added splatters of this colour all over the yellow area. Because the Daffodil paint was already dry, the Meet Me @Sunset paint sat on top and looks beautifully shimmery.

I then set about putting together the rest of my layout. I added torn strips of paper at the top of the layout. I mounted my photo onto yellow and green paper and I added twine to my lightbulbs to make them look as though they were hanging down – they look so pretty!

I added fussy cut flowers to the lightbulbs, as well as gold acetate butterflies, chipboard flowers, gold padded hearts and other embellishments. To each cluster I also added the cute little paper flowers from the Kitz.

I added in all three Dots from this month’s kit, they are such perfect clours and coordinate beautifully with the paint colours. I added in a few acrylic Perspextives: ‘&’ frame to the left of the photo, two pretty swans and little yellow starbursts on the yellow painted area.

I finished off with some sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps (Jewel of the Nile) and some more splatters of Daffodil paint. Here's another look at the finished layout:

I think this layout turned out really pretty! I hope you have enjoyed it. Don’t forget if you place an order via the Shimmerz Store, put my name in the comments to receive a freebie. Enjoy the process video below:

Beary Christmas | Ericka Strange

Hello everyone, Ericka here with one last Christmas card that hopefully gets mailed out tomorrow.
For my card today I used a mixture of Vibez sprays and Shimmerz paints along with this cute Christmas Bear from Reverse Confetti.

I started out by creating the background using the Reverse Confetti Stiched Burst Cover Die and then spraying the background with Vibez Glorious Day and Jeni B Bleu. I then used a Versamarker to make small dots in the middle of the star burst and gold heat emboss them. I love these two colors together and the gold Glorious Day is so pretty!

I then stamped the images on watercolor paper with Versafine ink and heat embossed them with a clear sparkle powder for some extra glittery shine.

I used the following Shimmerz and Creamz to paint up my images.

For more information about my card, feel free to stop by my blog Strangely Creative. I hope you have a wonderful shimmery Christmas and that it is filled with happiness.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget if you make a purchase, type in ERICKA in the comments and you'll receive a freebie with your order!

You Make My Heart Smile | Julee Tilman

Hi Shimmerz friends! It's Julee Tilman popping in to share a card with you. I had so much fun playing with my Shimmerz paints for this card.

I started with the Heart Dangle chipboard from Scrapaholics, painting it with Moulin Rouge, Berry-licious and Sugar Plum Shimmerz. Isn't this a dreamy combination? While this was drying, I taped down and masked off a rectangle with post-it note tape to start on my background. I used the same colors of Shimmerz paint to paint the background, spritzing with water and lifting with a paper towel to get the splatter look.  Here's what it looked like before I pulled up the masking. Love that shimmer!

I thought a flower would look perfect in the center of my painted chipboard heart, so I pulled out the Fresh Start Stampz set and did some three step stamping for the flower and leaves in pinks and greens. I stamped two flowers and two leaf sprigs, then cut just portions of the second ones to layer and give the flower and leaves a bit more dimension. I curled up the top layer flower petals, too. Here's what it looked like when I was done building this portion of the card.

I thought my flower needed a little more pizazz, so I pulled out the Angel Wings Shimmerz and gave the flower and leaves a good coating. This is one of my favorite ways to add a bit of wow factor to stamped images. Love the shimmer it adds!

Done with my elements, I picked a sticker from the Small Talk idea-ology collection for my sentiment, snipped it in two and added to the bottom of the card. I layered everything together, outlined the background panel with a black permanent pen to give the illusion of a mat without extra bulk, then finished off with some sparkly scattered holeless sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you're inspired to add a little Shimmerz to your next creation. And if you hadn't heard, the March Shimmerz Color Kit kicks off at 9AM Mountain today! Snow Very Much

Happy Wednesday Shimmerz fans! It's Ericka here and I can't believe it is almost December. I hope you had a chance to take advantage of some of the awesome Shimmerz Paints deals this last week as well as getting some Christmas shopping done. I'm continuing with our fun Design Team Challenge this month. I used Elfin' Magic Vibez along with some other awesome Shimmerz products and our new stamp You're Snow Amazing.

Isn't this snowman adorable? I love his hat and his cute little friends, such a perfect winter scene.
I started by stamping the image in Versafine ink on watercolor paper and heat embossing it with Polysparkle embossing powder. I then used my Elfin' Magic Vibez as a paint and colored in the hat and scarf. I love the bright green of this spray as well as the shine it has on paper.

I used a little Gold Glimmer Blingz on the snowman to give him a little shine and added some Vibez Snow Storm to blend in a whiter look.

I love the bright colors of the Shimmerz so used a variety in my card. See below for my supply list.

I finished the card by painting the sky using Shimmerz Ultra Marine, Sugar Plum and Royal Purple to give it a cold night air look. I added white paint splatters and the snowflakes included in the stamp set for snowy look.

I love how easy these Shimmerz products are to use together and how well they blend together leaving behind a beautiful shimmer to any project.

Thanks for stopping by and remember, if you make a purchase to put my name, Ericka Strange, in the notes for a special freebie.

Bedtime Stories | Niki Rowland

Hey there! Niki here today with this layout that is a little out of my comfort zone. I usually like to create on white backgrounds but today I'm working on a black background, eek!

I've seen these awesome Galaxy layouts around recently and thought I'd give it a go. So I took a piece of black cardstock and then set about adding lots and lots of light coloured flicks to my background.

I used original Shimmerz paints for this as they are highly pigmented. Sprays are more fine as they have to go through a spray applicator, but the original Shimmerz are in pots so I just took my paintbrush, dipped it in the pots and flicked away!

I used Shimmerz Sugar Plum, Shimmerz Peacocks Plume, Blingz Hi Ho Silver. I also added some flicks of white acrylic paint to add to the effect.

When all the splatters were dry, I then took Shimmerz Sugar Plum and a wetwipe and applied the paint directly to the background, swirling it around in a circle shape. I did two of these.

Once the swirls were dry I added white machine stitching around and around in messy circles. This challenged my machine stitching skills!

Once my background was complete I added a black and white photo with some tissue paper behind it and a frame. I also added my title using irridescent glitter alphabet stickers. I then went crazy with stars - some punched from patterned papers, some stickers, some puffy stickers and I also added lots of enamel dots in coordinating colours.

I had loads of fun making this layout even though it was way out of my comfort zone. I love the way the paint sits on top of the background card and dries true to colour too - oh and the shimmer, did I mention the shimmer!!!

Don't forget that if you place a Shimmerz order and put my name in the comments you will recieve a free gift - happy days!

Happy scrapping xx

Trick or Treat Smell My Feet | Niki Rowland

Hi Shimmerz Fans! Niki here today with this fun Halloween layout! I absolutely love Halloween, for my children it is the best night of the year - when else can you knock on people's doors and get given sweets?! We also love dressing up and now there are awesome Snapchat filters too that have awesome Halloween effects!

I started off by cutting a large pumpkin on my cutting machine. I then painted it with Original Shimmez 'Orange Sherbert'. This is a very intense orange colour and it is perfect for a Halloween pumpkin. Once it was dry I applied 'Dreamscicle' Dazzlerz Texture Paste through a polka dot stencil to give the pumpkin lots of texture.

I decided to put the orange pumpkin onto a sheet of black patterned paper but I wanted lots of paint splatters on that background so the pumpkin had a glow around it. I flicked on two colours: the Orange Sherbert Shimmerz and also Sugar Plum original Shimmerz too,  which is a deep purple colour. I love how intense the Shimmerz paints are - they really sit on top of the paper and keep their vibrance when they dry.

Once the paint splatters on the background are dry I positioned the pumpkin back onto the layout. I then built up my layout...I added my photos and added some embellishments from a few of last years Halloween collections that I've been hoarding!

Here's another look at the finished layout, I had such fun making this layout!

Thanks so much for joining me today - what Halloween projects will you make?
