Beautiful | Julee Tilman

Hi Shimmerz friends! It's Julee Tilman, popping in to share another card I made with the May Missy Whidden Color Kit. This one was inspired by one of the May Flowerz Dotz in the kit.

I started by smooshing the two exclusive kit colors, Rip van Periwinkle Vibez and Iris My Case Shimmerz onto a newsprint tag.  I then added in some Lapis Dance Creameez to bring out some of the blues in the dotz embellishment. I added some cheesecloth to the tag to soften things up, then painted a little Lapis Dance circle to mat the dotz embellishment and layered onto some white cardstock die cuts.

The sentiment is cut with a word die, then painted with the three colors I used above.  The dotz image reminded me of some Lavender Pieces Scrapaholics chipboard I had in my stash, so I pulled th em out and watercolored with the periwinkle, iris, and lapis to tuck behind the tag.

The card is finished off with a regular A2 sized card base, embossed with a diagonal stripes embossing folder and then splattered with the leftover inks on my palette.  I layered everything together and accented the tag with a seam binding bow for the final touch.

If you haven't picked up your May kit yet, be sure to head on over to the shop, while they're still available. These new colors are totally a-MAY-zing, and available exclusively in the kit right now.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! As always, if you place an order in the Shimmerz shop, mention my name, Julee Tilman, in the comments so they know who sent ya! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope your day Shimmerz!

You Make My Heart Smile | Julee Tilman

Hi Shimmerz friends! It's Julee Tilman popping in to share a card with you. I had so much fun playing with my Shimmerz paints for this card.

I started with the Heart Dangle chipboard from Scrapaholics, painting it with Moulin Rouge, Berry-licious and Sugar Plum Shimmerz. Isn't this a dreamy combination? While this was drying, I taped down and masked off a rectangle with post-it note tape to start on my background. I used the same colors of Shimmerz paint to paint the background, spritzing with water and lifting with a paper towel to get the splatter look.  Here's what it looked like before I pulled up the masking. Love that shimmer!

I thought a flower would look perfect in the center of my painted chipboard heart, so I pulled out the Fresh Start Stampz set and did some three step stamping for the flower and leaves in pinks and greens. I stamped two flowers and two leaf sprigs, then cut just portions of the second ones to layer and give the flower and leaves a bit more dimension. I curled up the top layer flower petals, too. Here's what it looked like when I was done building this portion of the card.

I thought my flower needed a little more pizazz, so I pulled out the Angel Wings Shimmerz and gave the flower and leaves a good coating. This is one of my favorite ways to add a bit of wow factor to stamped images. Love the shimmer it adds!

Done with my elements, I picked a sticker from the Small Talk idea-ology collection for my sentiment, snipped it in two and added to the bottom of the card. I layered everything together, outlined the background panel with a black permanent pen to give the illusion of a mat without extra bulk, then finished off with some sparkly scattered holeless sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you're inspired to add a little Shimmerz to your next creation. And if you hadn't heard, the March Shimmerz Color Kit kicks off at 9AM Mountain today! You are my Sunshine by Samantha Robles

Hi Friendz! So excited to be back with you all, sharing this fun layout using the Shimmerz Fall Color Challenge. My color that was chosen was: Hold the Mustard Paste-eez, mixed with some Mustard Seed Vibez. I love this color's vibrant hue and gold shimmer. It's perfect for all seasons, but here in Idaho, it reminds me of the gorgeous colors on the trees right now.
I've been saving this oh-so-adorable photo of my son for weeks. I finally found the perfect sunny and bright color to go with his cute bright self. I've been saving this cut files by Paige Taylor Evans . I took some Hold the Mustard and a tiny dropper of Mustard Seed and mixed the two together, then spread it over my cut file. What I found that works best for my projects is I do the spraying, painting, pasting right before bed. Then let it sit over night to get 100% dry without checking every 10 minutes. The next morning, I cut the cut file right in half and glued it to my white cardstock.
Soon after, I let my sheet dry and started on this amazingly cute chipboard piece from Scrapaholics titled "You Are My Sunshine". I started with some gesso and did a light coat of acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby to get the dark edges lightened up. After that dried, I then added two coats of Paste-Eez "Puttin' on the Glitz"
This adds that POP of sparkle that shines from my little turkey's personality.
I finally added some small little drops of Sweet Heart Vibez to add the finishing touch, along with these cute tiny heart stickers I've had stashed away for months. I'm Samantha, and I'm a craft supply hoarder, hehe!

Thanks so much for tagging along. Make sure to check out Scrapaholic's amazing selection of chipboard pieces and don't forget to join the color challenge with Shimmerz.

XOXO
