Sunshine in my Pocket | June Color Kitz | Niki Rowland

Hi everyone, it's Niki (@nikiclairecreates) here with you today with a new layout using the June Color Kitz and a process video too. The Kitz comes with five Shimmerz Paints, a pack of exclusive Dotz, customizable die cut tags and an exclusive cut file: I’ve got that Sunshine in my Pocket which is super fun. The Shimmerz Paints colours are: Sapphire Spritz, Powder Puff Spritz, Elfin Magic Vibez, Strawberry Fields Creameez, Great Fruit Creameez. I love these colours so much, they totally remind me of summer!

I started with a sheet of Marshmallow cardstock for my background and then added the five colours of Shimmerz to the background in wide vertical stripes. I started with Sapphire on the right side. I used a wide paintbrush to get this effect but it wouldn’t fit in the bottle, so I poured some of the paint onto a craft sheet and picked it up from there. I did the same with Powder Puff, then Elfin Magic. For the two pink colours of Creameez, I added water to the pots, let them sit for a couple of minutes, then painted directly out of the pot. I left my background to dry then splattered all over it with white acrylic paint.

I then worked on the cut file. I just wanted the words ‘sunshine in my pocket’ so I trimmed the cut file so I just had the words I wanted. I backed the open words in a red patterned paper from Simple Stories Sunkissed. I then added the cut file title to my layout on the darker pink stripe. I raised it on foam pads for extra dimension.

I also painted the customizable die cut tags with the same colours and set those aside to dry.

I added my two photo to the layout and arranged the painted die cut tags in the same colour areas of the layout. I then carried on with this with the other embellishments I used. I used lots of word labels and I stuck those in the same orientation as the cut file title. I added the three exclusive Dotz to the layout, again in the colour blocking style.

I finished off with some sequins by Spiegelmom Scraps, a few more embellishments and my journaling which I wrote directly onto the painted tags! I really love how this one turned out. Here is another look at the finished layout:

Thank you so much for joining me today and happy scrapping. Don't forget that if you place an order via the Shimmerz store, add my name in the comments to get a little freebie! Enjoy the process video below.

June 2021 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends! Brianna Lepper back again with a brand new layout using the stunning June 2021 Color Kitz!  For $25.99 + shipping, here's what you get in the kit!

Sapphire Spritz
Elfin' Magic Vibez
Strawberry Fieldz Creameez
Great Fruit Creameez
Powder Puff Spritz * New Color*
1 exclusive  "Sunshine in My Pocketcut file created by Shimmerz Paints. Available in JPEG, SVG and PNG format in a zip folder.
1 set of "Oh My Heart" Dotz
1 set of 4 customizable watercolor journaling cards

This kit has so many beautiful colors that are perfect for all of your Summer photos!  Here's my layout:

To start, I sized and cut the cut file out on a piece of white textured cardstock.  I cut it again making sure to offset the inside pieces to the letters so that I could paint each one and immediately back the cut file with them.  I like to use this method when backing cut files with mixed media.  It really saves time in the end!  Once everything was cut, I started applying all of the colors from the kit onto the letters.  I wanted to paint the "sunshine" word in the cut file yellow, so I pulled a Vibez in Mustard Seed from my stash and painted it on.

I set the letters aside to dry and got to work on my background.  I sprayed on the new Powder Puff Spritz and blended on a bit of the Sapphire Spritz to create a sky kind of look.  I sprayed some water to help the colors move and also added in a few splatters.

I set that aside to dry as well and pulled out the watercolor paper shapes that also come in the kit.  I sprayed/painted on the colors onto my glass mat, added some water and smooshed each piece in the paints.  The butterflies ended up being my favorite because the Elfin Magic Vibez and the Sapphire Spritz are beautiful together!!!

Once everything was finished drying, I backed my cut file with the mixed media letters and popped the entire cut file up on foam tape.  I then adhered it on an angle to my background.  I have been loving the diagonal designs on my layouts lately.  Do you like doing diagonal layouts?

Next, I got to work on embellishing.  This kit goes with so many of the newly released collections!  I ended up choosing the Sunkissed collection from Cocoa Vanilla and adhered some of the patterned papers to two of the corners so that they sandwiched my cut file.  I then took the 3 Dotz from the kit and used them as a starting point for 3 embellishment clusters.  I love adding tangled thread under each one too.  It just adds another element of texture!

Here's another embellishment cluster:

I layered a few floral ephemera pieces and added in some text stickers and that completed my layout!  I love how this one turned out!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I've inspired you in some way!  If you haven't picked up this beautiful kit yet, make sure you grab one before they sell out!  (they usually do!) Don't forget to add my name in the notes/comments section of your next order to receive a free gift!  To see how this layout came together, check out my process video below.  See you next time friends!

Skiing By | Ericka Strange

Hey Shimmerz fanz I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Ericka here with a cute Christmas card using the Pinkfresh Studio stamp Skiing By.

I love these cute little critters and the sparkle of all the Shimmerz Paints products is perfect for a snowy look.

I stamped the critters with Versafine ink and clear heat embossed them. I used Coffee Shimmerz on the bear and Dear John Inklingz on the bunny.

For my background I sprayed a piece of water color paper with Deep Blue Sea Vibez and another piece of watercolor paper with Elfin' Magic Vibez. I love this set especially since it has die cuts for the mountains, hills and snow caps.

I used Neenah Metallic paper for the snow and then adhered my scene using foam tape for dimension. For more information on how I created my card, check out my blog Strangely Creative.

That's all for me today. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget if you make a purchase on our new website, type in ERICKA in the comments and you'll receive a freebie with your order!

All Things Grow With Love | Ericka Strange

Hello Shimmerz fanz! Ericka here with a Spring Bunny card using the new cut file designed by Paige Evans which is part of the NEW Missy Whidden Kit from Shimmerz Paints.

Below is all the items included in this awesome kit which is only $17.95, a real steal! You'd pay way more than that if you bought these products individually.

Shimmerz also has an April Card Kit using Pink and Main "Life is a Circus" set and is available at 20% off retail cost per individual products at $34.95. These circus images are adorable!
http://www.shimmerzpaints.com/shop.php#!/Color-Kitz-The-March-April-Card-Making-Kit/p/132248963/category=33206055
I used several of these colors in the kits in my card today as well as a Pink and Main set called Seeds of Kindness.

I started by stamping the images on some Bristol paper with InkOn3 Fade Out ink so that I could do some no-line watercoloring with my Shimmerz and Vibez. I like to spray a small amount of the Vibez onto my pallet and pick the color up from there.

Once the images were dry, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I then used my Silhouette to cut this gorgeous file from Page Evans on some heavy cardstock. I sprayed the heart with some Glorious Day and Jeni B Bleu Vibez to add some color and attached it to some pink cardstock. I love the sparkle and shade mixing these two colors produced. I cut the heart down so that it would fit on my card and look like the heart was growing.

I attached the watercolored images with some 3D glue dots as well as the sentiment from the set. I love this little bunny and the watering can is so pretty.

There you have it, a cute little spring card using this beautiful cut file and a cute set from Pink and Main.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week! If you want to know more about the products I used feel free to stop over at my blog Strangely Creative.

Sympathy Card | Julee Tilman

Hi Shimmerz friends! It's Julee Tilman here to share a sympathy card made with Shimmerz products. Sadly, I had to put a pause on my holiday making, since a dear friend lost her father this past week. I had an idea for a card with a vibrant flower that would shine and radiate hope against a neutral background and here's what I came up with.

I started by stamping the flower image in jet black amalgam ink twice on watercolor paper. I then watercolored the flowers with Jeni B. Bleu Vibez, Well Blue Me Down Coloringz and It's Mint to Be Shimmerz. I used Elfin' Magic Vibez for the leaves. When these were dry, I fussy cut the two floral pieces on one image and cut a tag with the other flower image. Next I masked off the image and used a brick stencil and some See Ya Latte' Spritz to create a background. When dry, I removed the mask and then added the cut flower pieces, curling up the edges for a little added dimension. I highlighted the little dots in the center of the flower with Spun Sugar Dazzlerz.

For the background, I used a crackle stencil and blended in some See Ya Latte', Jeni B. Bleu and Well Blue Me Down sprays with a blending tool.  I then cut a length of sheer ribbon and dyed it to match the card with some water and Well Blue Me Down Coloringz. I used the excess ink to make some ink splatters on my background and then started layering everything together.

I accented the sentiment strip with a heart die cut, stacked 3 times for thickness and finished off with a bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a shimmery kind of day! Remember, if you see a little something you just have to have in the Shimmerz store be sure to put my name, Julee Tilman, in the comments section for a free surprise.

Snow Very Much

Happy Wednesday Shimmerz fans! It's Ericka here and I can't believe it is almost December. I hope you had a chance to take advantage of some of the awesome Shimmerz Paints deals this last week as well as getting some Christmas shopping done. I'm continuing with our fun Design Team Challenge this month. I used Elfin' Magic Vibez along with some other awesome Shimmerz products and our new stamp You're Snow Amazing.

Isn't this snowman adorable? I love his hat and his cute little friends, such a perfect winter scene.
I started by stamping the image in Versafine ink on watercolor paper and heat embossing it with Polysparkle embossing powder. I then used my Elfin' Magic Vibez as a paint and colored in the hat and scarf. I love the bright green of this spray as well as the shine it has on paper.

I used a little Gold Glimmer Blingz on the snowman to give him a little shine and added some Vibez Snow Storm to blend in a whiter look.

I love the bright colors of the Shimmerz so used a variety in my card. See below for my supply list.

I finished the card by painting the sky using Shimmerz Ultra Marine, Sugar Plum and Royal Purple to give it a cold night air look. I added white paint splatters and the snowflakes included in the stamp set for snowy look.

I love how easy these Shimmerz products are to use together and how well they blend together leaving behind a beautiful shimmer to any project.

Thanks for stopping by and remember, if you make a purchase to put my name, Ericka Strange, in the notes for a special freebie.
