Mixed Media masculine layout with Sandi Clarkson

Hello, scrappy friends!

Sandi  here with you today sharing my first Shimmerz Paint project for 2019!
Here's hoping for a creative year for all of you!!!

My first step after selecting my papers was to coat them with clear gesso and then added Paste-Eez Salt of the Earth texture paste pushed through a stencil.

After that dried, I added my distressed photo layers along with the photo of my grandson. Before moving on, I did some random stamping.

After choosing some chipboard embellishments from Creative Embellishments, I prepared them in a couple of different ways.

This Twig frame with fall leaves was sprayed with my Shimmerz Coloringz Chocolate Brownie.

After that dried, I sprayed the frame and leaves with my Shimmerz Vibez Hot Fudge which gave them a warm glow!

Before adding my florals and other embellishments, I enhanced my focal area by painting on Coloringz Well Blue Me Down with a small brush.

As I worked, I keep some water nearby so that I could dilute and let the color run as desired.

The chipboard title piece is from Creative Embellishments Adventure Word Set.

I decided to alter it a bit differently and chose my Inklingz Penny 4 Your Thoughts which turned out great! It gave it a nice, copper-y look.

In the background, you can see the Paste-Eez Salt of the Earth which was pushed through a stencil.

Here I tried to capture a better view of those copper tones of the Inklingz Penny 4 Your Thoughts.

The leaves were treated with a smattering of Blingz Gold Glimmer along the vein lines.

Finally, I added my florals and bling. Then splattered with gesso as well as Coloringz Night Moves which is black and the primary project color Coloringz Well Blue Me Down.

Thanks so much for coming by today!
Be sure to mention my name if you do a little retail shopping at Shimmerz for a little free paint.

"Get Your Paint On" with Sandi Clarkson

Hey hey, scrappy friends!
It's Sandi here with you today sharing my latest Shimmerz Paints project.
I wanted to have a little fun with some of the newest Shimmerz Paints colors, so I decided to create this little art palette piece and try for an ombre effect using the grays.

The actual Art Palette is a chipboard piece from Creative Embellishments and it's about 7 inches high.  I prepped it with some crackle paste and let that air dry (waiting is the hardest part!) for about 24 hours. Next I adhered some old paintbrushes and decided on my other embellishments.

To achieve the ombre look, I've used Coloringz Night MovesVibez GreyFlannel and lastly Spritz Granny Gray. These were simply sprayed on one after the other.

Before the colors were completely dry, I splattered on Shimmerz Teal the End of Time and Vibez Snow Storm. And then because I couldn't stand NOT to, I splattered on some of the new Shimmerz Pip Pip Cherry O. I thought it would be a nice pop of color and it's perfect!

When that was done, I colorized my chipboard title (also Creative Embellishments) with the Coloringz Night Moves. After adhering that, I moved on to adding my other embellies.

I finished everything off with some white gesso splattering and highlighting.  Lastly, I added a few of the new sequins we are carrying by SpeigelMom ... Spigelmom Scraps Sequins Picking Wild Flowers

I'm loving all the dimension and mostly, these new gray colors!
I'm thinking lots of great modern farmhouse projects!

If you are ready to shop, don't forget to include my name SANDI in the comment section, to receive a little free gift.

That's it for today!
Thanks for coming by.

Laugh as Much As You Breathe | Katty Miranda

Hello friends! Katty here to share a Scrapbook Layout with you all. I am scrapping a photo of myself from my Senior year in High School. This was taken during my Senior Photo Session. I chose some soft colors to compliment the colors in the photo.

I began with a Black and white Patterned Paper. I used some gesso to prep the page and added a few colors of spray mist. I used all shades of pink, a Coloringz in Pink Stilettos, a Vibez in Pop Art Pink and a Spritz in Cotton Candy. I sprayed them directly onto the page focusing on the bottom right hand corner and around the area where my photo would sit.
I then used my favorite Paste-eez in the color Tree Hugger and used that through a Lattice stencil in two areas, to the left of the photo and on top of the photo. I layered a few patterned papers behind the photo and also used some beautiful fussy cut flowers around the photo.
Lastly, I added my tittle as well as a few other stickers, keeping everything around the photo. I used a Coloringz in Night Moves and also added some Ink Splatters as a finishing touch.

I love how it turned out.
Products Used: Coloringz: Pink Stilettos, Night Moves
Spritz: Cotton Candy
Vibez: Pop Art Pink
Paste-Eek: Tree Hugger

Cherish These Moments Layout | Katty Miranda

Hello friends! Katty here to share another 12x12 Layout with you all. I love the month of February and all colors associated with this month of "Love." I decided to use a mix of Pinks and Reds to create a fun blend of colors. At first, I wasn't quite sure what I was going to create. I just love playing with all of the fun Shimmerz Paints and blending colors to create a fun look. I am documenting two photos of my adorable niece. She wanted to wear her grandmothers hair curlers. She is just adorable and so full of personality. To document this moment, I wanted to create something fun. In the end, I really love how it turns out.

I began with a white piece of cardstock. I used Coloringz in Pretty in Pink, My Bleeding Heart and Pink Stilettos. I used Vibez in Pop Art Pink, Sweet Heart and My Blushing Bride. I also used a Spritz in Cotton Candy. I used several techniques to create the look I was going for. I sprayed some of the mists, I used the packaging technique and I added splatters with the nozzle. Once I was happy with the blend of colors I also added splatters with Coloringz in Night Moves and Vibez in Glorious Day.

I then used a heart punch and punched out several hearts from the sheet of paper. I also cut out some hearts from tracing paper. I decided to use a 12x12 Heart Cut File from The Cut Shoppe. I didn't use the whole 12x12 piece. I cut some of the hearts from the edges. I backed the cut file with the colored hearts as well as with the hearts I cut out of tracing paper. I added foam to the back of the hearts so that the whole cut file was raised from the background paper.

For the background paper I chose a light wood grain pattern from the Crate Paper Snow and Cocoa Collection. I added my two photos over the cut file.

I embellished very simply using a few pieces from the Crate Paper Heart Day Chipboard sheet. I decided I wanted to add a little more interest to my layout. I used a Heidi Swapp circle stencil and added a few circles in three areas using the new Paste-eez in Puttin' on the Glitz and Raspberry Sherbert.

I added a simple tittle using a white Amy Tangerine Foam word Thicker and some Websters Pages pink tiny alpha stickers. I love how it turned out.

There is a video on my channel if you'd like to watch my process.

Go See Explore with Guest Designer Adrienne Alvis

Hello Shimmerz fans! I'm here again with you today sharing another layout that I created using a mix of Coloringz, Creameez, and Dazzlerz dimensional paste.

I started creating this layout by misting some of the Coloringz Night Moves spray onto my background patterned paper. I just randomly picked an area to spray and added a few larger drops from the cap as well.

Next, after the mist dried completely, I used one of my favorite acrylic masks and placed it on top of the misted area and secured it using some washi tape so it wouldn't move around while I added the Dazzlerz Spun Sugar dimensional paste.

As you can see in the photo below, I didn't lay the dimensional paste on super thick because I wanted to add only a slight bit of texture and dimension.

After the paste dried, I added a 12" long strip of patterned paper that I placed my photo and page title on and adhered it using some foam tape.

Using a watercolor brush, I added some of the Creameez Ride the Tide watercolor to the chipboard letters in my title and squirted a few drops around my entire layout to coordinate with the light blue elements in the patterned paper I chose.

After placing a few more embellishments around my photo and adding my journaling, my page was complete!

As I mentioned in my previous guest post, I was always a little shy about using a lot of paint and watercolors on my layouts, but the Shimmerz paints are so easy to use and I'm always amazed at how quickly they dry!
