Mixed Media masculine layout with Sandi Clarkson

Hello, scrappy friends!

Sandi  here with you today sharing my first Shimmerz Paint project for 2019!
Here's hoping for a creative year for all of you!!!

My first step after selecting my papers was to coat them with clear gesso and then added Paste-Eez Salt of the Earth texture paste pushed through a stencil.

After that dried, I added my distressed photo layers along with the photo of my grandson. Before moving on, I did some random stamping.

After choosing some chipboard embellishments from Creative Embellishments, I prepared them in a couple of different ways.

This Twig frame with fall leaves was sprayed with my Shimmerz Coloringz Chocolate Brownie.

After that dried, I sprayed the frame and leaves with my Shimmerz Vibez Hot Fudge which gave them a warm glow!

Before adding my florals and other embellishments, I enhanced my focal area by painting on Coloringz Well Blue Me Down with a small brush.

As I worked, I keep some water nearby so that I could dilute and let the color run as desired.

The chipboard title piece is from Creative Embellishments Adventure Word Set.

I decided to alter it a bit differently and chose my Inklingz Penny 4 Your Thoughts which turned out great! It gave it a nice, copper-y look.

In the background, you can see the Paste-Eez Salt of the Earth which was pushed through a stencil.

Here I tried to capture a better view of those copper tones of the Inklingz Penny 4 Your Thoughts.

The leaves were treated with a smattering of Blingz Gold Glimmer along the vein lines.

Finally, I added my florals and bling. Then splattered with gesso as well as Coloringz Night Moves which is black and the primary project color Coloringz Well Blue Me Down.

Thanks so much for coming by today!
Be sure to mention my name if you do a little retail shopping at Shimmerz for a little free paint.

Fall Tags with Sandi Clarkson

Hello, Shimmerz Paints fans!

Sandi here with you today sharing a couple of Fall tags that I created one rainy morning here in Texas.

These were my finished tags which started out as regular old office supply tags.
I primed them with white gesso and after allowing that to dry, I added some texture with super heavy gesso and a stencil.
Then I applied water and misted them with  Glorious Day Vibez,  Palm Reader Vibez and then added the new So Sappy Shimmerz with a paint brush allowing the colors to run in a downward pattern. I reversed the order on the second tag, so they are mirror images. To add more depth, I splattered some Hot Fudge Vibez.

Here they are before the embellishments were added. Look at that Shimmer!

After the color was dry,  I added some punchinello ribbon beneath the florals, a couple of wee buttons and then a couple of chipboard Autumn Set title pieces from Creative Embellishments which were darkened with Chocolate Brownie Coloringz

Some various ribbon at the top completed them. I'm so happy how they turned out.

This photo shows the top portion of the card a bit better.

Just another shot at all that Fall color.
These were so, so fun to do! I hope you'll give it a try.

Don't forget to include my name "Sandi" on your retail order. Stacey will send you a free little goodie! How fun!

Thanks for coming by.
See you next time!

Live your dream with passion, mixed media project with Astrid

Hello Shimmerz friends, - today I have a a project to share with you using a Tim Holtz etc tag as my substrate
.
These tags are huge, made from thick chipboard like stuff and I had great fun playing with the following Shimmerz products:
Spritz Treasured Hymn
Coloringz: Chocolate Brownie
Vibez: Before Dawn.
Below a few process photos:
Cover the tag with gesso and when dry some crackle paste. Add base colour with brown toned acrylic paint, then play around with the sprays until you are happy with the result. Finally add some stencilling and splatters using gesso.

Next create focal embellishment, - a butterfly. To create this effect I stamped a Tim Holtz stamped into triple embossed bronze embossing powder using black archival ink, Once dry I then deepened the colour using by sprays,
Next I layered everything up using a background panel, made from scrapbook paper, covered with a thin layer of gesso and then enhanced with the Treasured Hymn spray. I added a pen nib to the centre of the butterfly, again first given a light coat of acrylic and then deepened the colour with the sprays.
A stamped sentiment and and metal crown embellishment finished it all off.

Well, that's it for today. Don't forget our incentive programme, you can find the details below:

Thanks for your visit like always and happy creating!

Friendship card with Astrid

Hello lovely Shimmerz friends, - today I have a card to share celebrating friendship.

The card is made with two different panels and here is the list of products I used:
Paints:
Inklingz: Meet me @ Sunset, Miner Miner 49er Penny 4 Your Thought and Tarnished Treasure.
Creameez: Sage It Isn't So
Sprays:
Vibez: Egg Noggin
Coloringz: Chocolate Brownee
Spritz: Olive Branch, Treasured Hymn
For the dark background panel I used Kraft card and painted it first with Penny 4 Your Thoughts. Then I used Tarnished Treasure through a stencil to add a bit of variation.

The central panel was dry embossed with an embossing folder and then colour was added with the help of the paints and sprays.
The large leave cut and embossed with the Tim Holtz layered leaf die and embossing folder was first painted with Sage Is N't So and then I added some Olive Branch Spritz for a bit more variation.
The little wooden butterflies were first stamped with a script stamp in Archival ink and then coloured with Miner Miner 49ner and then darkened with Penny 4 Your Thoughts and Tarnished Treasure.
The friends label was just a little embellishment from my stash...
Well, that's it pretty much, - hope you like my card and of course, - thanks for your visit like always!
And if you decide to order some of the lovely Shimmerz products from the store
