Mixed Media masculine layout with Sandi Clarkson

Hello, scrappy friends!

Sandi  here with you today sharing my first Shimmerz Paint project for 2019!
Here's hoping for a creative year for all of you!!!

My first step after selecting my papers was to coat them with clear gesso and then added Paste-Eez Salt of the Earth texture paste pushed through a stencil.

After that dried, I added my distressed photo layers along with the photo of my grandson. Before moving on, I did some random stamping.

After choosing some chipboard embellishments from Creative Embellishments, I prepared them in a couple of different ways.

This Twig frame with fall leaves was sprayed with my Shimmerz Coloringz Chocolate Brownie.

After that dried, I sprayed the frame and leaves with my Shimmerz Vibez Hot Fudge which gave them a warm glow!

Before adding my florals and other embellishments, I enhanced my focal area by painting on Coloringz Well Blue Me Down with a small brush.

As I worked, I keep some water nearby so that I could dilute and let the color run as desired.

The chipboard title piece is from Creative Embellishments Adventure Word Set.

I decided to alter it a bit differently and chose my Inklingz Penny 4 Your Thoughts which turned out great! It gave it a nice, copper-y look.

In the background, you can see the Paste-Eez Salt of the Earth which was pushed through a stencil.

Here I tried to capture a better view of those copper tones of the Inklingz Penny 4 Your Thoughts.

The leaves were treated with a smattering of Blingz Gold Glimmer along the vein lines.

Finally, I added my florals and bling. Then splattered with gesso as well as Coloringz Night Moves which is black and the primary project color Coloringz Well Blue Me Down.

Thanks so much for coming by today!
Be sure to mention my name if you do a little retail shopping at Shimmerz for a little free paint.

Floral Hello by Isha Gupta

Hello Shimmerz friendz, Isha here sharing a clean and simple winter card with you.

I decided to use the Stampz: Fresh Start to create my card. It's a pretty layering set but for today, I simply used the outline and created a monochromatic card.

I started by applying the PASTE-EEZ: Salt of The Earth to the cardbase and let it dry. Once dry, I applied a light wash of Shimmerz: When Skies are Gray.
Meanwhile, I stamped the florals and colored them using Creameez: Berry Hot. Once colored, I fussy cut them.
Here is a close-up to check out the shimmer and texture.

I then flicked some splatters of  Creameez: Berry Hot to the base. Adhered the florals and the leaves. To finish, I adhered a die-cut word "HELLO"
I really like the dimension we can get using various products, still keeping the card as one layer, easy to mail :)

Here are the products I used:
Stampz: Fresh Start

Thank you for stopping by!! Hope you like my creation and got inspired to create monochromatic CAS mixed media cards. If you decide to add some shimmery goodness in your stash, please don't forget to put my name "ISHA GUPTA" in the comments and get a free surprise freebie :)

Quick, Fun Christmas tags with Sandi

 Hello, scrappy friends!

Sandi here today sharing some quick, fun Christmas tags to use on those Christmas gifts you're busy wrapping!

Although my own Christmas colors are neutral white, creams and copper, I decided to let the Sugar Plum Fairies dance in my head for a few minutes and produce me some sweet, sugar-y colors!

So, I chose Vibez Forget Me NotVibez Snow Way Man and Vibez Pop Art Pink for my base colors and Paste Eez Salt of the Earth for my background texture.

Using ordinary office tags, I had me a little "play" in the craft room!

I started by swiping the tags with clear gesso and then adding my Paste Eez Salt of the Earth through
a stencil.

While that was drying, I chose and painted a bunch of Christmas chipboard pieces with white acrylic paint. For a flocked and textured effect, I added some glitter snow to the trees.

Next, I went back to my tags and applied the colors with a paintbrush.

Above is a close-up of the Vibez Forget Me Not. Look at that shimmer!~

Here is the sweet Vibez Pop Art Pink one! This is a really pretty baby pink!

The last thing I did was add the ribbons and splattered some white paint over the tags for a snowy, uniform look.

I've been looking for a chance to use my Vibez Snow Way Man blue. It is so gorgeous. Depending on the intensity that you desire, you can of course, water this down for a lighter touch.

Doing these little tags is also a great to get familiar with the colors you have on hand before trying them a special project!

So, now I'm all set with at least 3 tags for my Christmas presents!
You can be too by shopping the Shimmerz Paints Store for the colors you need.
Don't forget to use my name SANDI for a little free gift with order!
See you next time!

"Handsome Boy" by Tina Ollett

Hello crafty friends and welcome.

So today's project layout is titled "Handsome Boy" and you will see why when you scroll to the photo below.........

Please meet Rafael, my chocolate shadow and partner in all things! The reason I say this is that this big guy does not leave my side pretty much at all.  I will leave a room and regardless of wether or not I only just entered the room he will only be two steps behind me. And don't ever close a door behind you because he will sit and wait and wait and wait and .............wait! I love this boy and his special ways. Never have I owned a dog that is this loyal and patient.

So now about the project.
My starting point for "Handsome Boy" was selecting my background paper which is of course from Captured Adventures.  I have selected Wander Aimlessly as it a neutral piece that I can add the colours that I need. And to do this I spritzed the background paper with some gorgeous Shimmerz Spritz in the colour of Bamboo Leaf. What a great colour. It worked perfectly with my photo. And to pull the paper into the spritzing I did some stamping focusing on the area around where the photo will sit with the Faded Damask Stamp.

Wander Aimlessly

I used a second piece of Wander Aimlessly and cut some matting for my photo which is a landscape
4 x 6 inch. I also did a little tearing and tucked these pieces at either side of the matting layers.

I firstly adhered the matting to the layout and then went to work on add my chipboards. These were painted in Dusty in Colour Soot. I then swiped some Shimmerz Paste-eez (Salt of the Earth) very randomly over this to create highlights. And to make the chippies a little more noticeable I have also added in some sprinkling of gold prills and Dress My Craft Sequins in golden black.

Here you can see more closely the layering of the Fleur de Lis. I used the whole set plus one extra and cut them in half to go most of the way around the photo to help make it pop a little more.
I have also added to these layers a 6 x 6 skeleton clock that I have coloured with a brown ink and random splatters of Dusty in Colour Soot and white Gesso.

From this view you can see the bottom half of the Swirly Frame. I cut the frame in half and elongated it. I added some leftover pieces of Wander Aimlessly to the oval sections of the frame and wrote Rafael's name in the top part and the year date at the bottom. You can also see the Fancy Flourish #2 here which has been layered amongst a large clustering of flowers and vines. I have also added a heart dot from the Decorative Dots pack in black. Just too darn cute these little dots.

And below are the flowers that I chose to accompany the page.
I have to say Sage is a great colour.  I have also added in some leftover vines from other packs of 49andMarket flowers. And the new release packs of the Vintage Shades now have the cute stemmed flowers that are just adorable and I just love to use.

Please remember that if you are looking to purchase any products used in this project you can just click on the link below the photo which will take you straight to the website. And also if ordering from Shimmerz just add my name in the contents box and you will receive a free gift with your purchase.
Well I think that is pretty much all from me today. Until next time take care and big hugs.
