Laugh as Much As You Breathe | Katty Miranda

Hello friends! Katty here to share a Scrapbook Layout with you all. I am scrapping a photo of myself from my Senior year in High School. This was taken during my Senior Photo Session. I chose some soft colors to compliment the colors in the photo.

I began with a Black and white Patterned Paper. I used some gesso to prep the page and added a few colors of spray mist. I used all shades of pink, a Coloringz in Pink Stilettos, a Vibez in Pop Art Pink and a Spritz in Cotton Candy. I sprayed them directly onto the page focusing on the bottom right hand corner and around the area where my photo would sit.
I then used my favorite Paste-eez in the color Tree Hugger and used that through a Lattice stencil in two areas, to the left of the photo and on top of the photo. I layered a few patterned papers behind the photo and also used some beautiful fussy cut flowers around the photo.
Lastly, I added my tittle as well as a few other stickers, keeping everything around the photo. I used a Coloringz in Night Moves and also added some Ink Splatters as a finishing touch.

I love how it turned out.
Products Used: Coloringz: Pink Stilettos, Night Moves
Spritz: Cotton Candy
Vibez: Pop Art Pink
Paste-Eek: Tree Hugger

Positive Art Journal Spread | Katty Miranda

Hello friends! Katty here to share a fun Art Journal Page with you all. I was in the mood to paint so I pulled out my handy dandy Art Journal. I am using my Daler Rowney Mixed Media Travelbook. I love the size of the pages in this journal, not too big, but enough space for me to get creative. I created a fun and colorful spread.

I began with a stencil and one of my favorite paste-eez in the color Tree Hugger which is a gorgeous teal. The stencil I used looks like pomegranate seeds. I love the texture the Paste-eez and stencil immediately add to my page. It looks pretty all by itself but of course I needed to add lots more color to it.

I pulled out some of my awesome Shimmerz paints in several colors, I used a Coloringz in Mandarin Mai Tai and Pink Stilettos and three Creameez in Trippin in the Tropics, Boogie Boardin Blue, and Lettuce get together. I used a watercolor brush and scattered the colors around the page in between the stenciled image. I mixed it up and added the intense colors in some areas and used a little more water to soften the same colors up in other areas. I love the look of this mix.

I used a black sharpie pen and added some faux stitching around parts of the stenciled image to add some additional interest. I love the detail that the faux stitching adds. I also added some positive coordinating word stickers to finish it off.
Supplies Used:
Paste-eez: Tree Hugger
Coloringz: Mandarin Mai Tai, Pink Stilettos
Creameez: Lettuce get Together, Boogie Boardin Blue, Trippin in the Tropics

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Remember...

In the frame by Astrid

Hello lovely Shimmerz friends, it's Astrid here today sharing a little project with you.
I have a friend who is going through a hard time, so this is a little gift for her.
These are the products I used:
Past- Eez: Tree Hugger
AcriTonez: Peas be Mine
Coloringz: Don't Be Suede
Schimmeringz: Concrete
Vibez: Don't Rain on My Parade
All available in the Store of course

I started with the frame. On a bit of mount board I dabbed some of the Paste_Eez with my finger to created texture. While still wet I dropped in some Ancient Silver embossing powder and some little artstones and then dried with my heat gun.

Next I went to work with my chosen sprays until it looked like this:

Sadly the photo does not show how the bright turquoise paste turns into a beautiful patina with the help of the sprays..

For the inside panel I took a piece of scrapbook paper, covered it with clear gesso and when that had dried some clear crackle glaze. Once the cracks had appeared I scraped on a thin layer of the Acritonez paint just here and there with a little palette knife and then added some of the same spray lightly around the edges, dabbing any excess with some kitchen roll.

I matted the central panel on some white card for contrast, adhered it to the background and that was pretty much it.

Thanks for your visit and  if you order something from the store, just mention my name in your order and you will get a free gift, - how cool is that?
