Halloween with Shimmerz

Hiya All!! Happy Halloween!! Hopefully this day is a long one because I am not ready for November 1st!! I needed to squeeze in one more Halloween card before my cute stamps are put away for good.

My image is stamped with Brilliance Graphite Black and then colored with my copics. I knew that I couldn't have a Halloween image without the sparkle so I painted the cauldron with Coal Shimmerz, the buckle on the witches hat and the pumpkin eyes with Sunflower Shimmerz, and the stems with Key Lime Shimmerz. Doesn't the Shimmerz make the image look amazing!!

So what are your costume ideas for Halloween? My kids are all very different this year, we have Wonder Woman, Bumblebee Transformer, and Minnie Mouse. I am looking forward to having a whole day to do lots of fun activities with them, they should make Halloween Saturday every year.

Hope you all have a FANTASTIC night!

Shimmerz and CPS

Shimmerz is sponsoring this week's sketch on CPS, I will admit to being a subscriber to the blog and oohing and aahing over the sketches each week but never having a chance to play. But I had a great reason to get it done this week. I also wanted to stick with a pink color scheme to fit right in with the Shimmerz "Show us your Pink" promotion. I am sorry they are a touch blurry, it was a crummy weather day and I had to hurry and mail it with her package so it would get there on time.

The image is stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Copics. I used Pink Shimmerz and Flashee Fushia Blingz to paint the present, hats and candle.

Hopefully you will get a chance to play this week, it is a great sketch and you can even use pink and upload it to the Shimmerz flicker group for your chance to win something pink from Shimmerz.

Hope you have a great Sunday!!

Thinking Pink in Gifts

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Shimmerz is showing their support by showing off our pink. For the Month of October all the Shimmerz girls will be creating different projects using Pink Shimmerz, Blingz and Spritz. You can get in on the fun by creating a project using Pink Shimmerz, Blingz or Spritz and uploading it to the Shimmerz Flicker Group throughout the month of October, just make sure and tell us what Shimmerz product you used. Each member of the design team will pick a winner so you have lots of chances to win.

For my pink project I decided to make a birthday gift for my friend. The candy doesn't match but it is her favorite so it had to work. I used the adorable Phoebe Ketto from Stamping Bella and the paint can is from Stampendous.

Here is a close up of the card, you can see how well the Shimmerz and Blingz compliment this card.

My Phoebe is stamped with Brilliance Graphite Black ink and colored with Copic Markers. I used Pink Shimmerz on the lighter hearts and the wings, and the darker hearts are painted with Hottie Pink Blingz. These 2 colors together are some of my favorites!! I love the light shade of pink and the bold color of Hottie pink.

This Phoebe is colored the same as the card and I used the Pink Shimmerz on the light hearts and wings and Hottie Pink Blingz on the darker hearts.

So lets see that pink!! You have lots of time to order you some Pink Shimmerz if you don't have any yet, and get your creations posted.

Hope you have a great Friday!!

Shimmerz + Home Decor = FABULOUS!!

Hiya!! So I have been in the mood for home decor lately, and I completed a project today that I am in love with thanks to Shimmerz!! I bought this cute little door hanging at Hobby lobby but when I hung it on the door it just didn't stand out. So I decided I would paint the letters so that you could see them. (I took this picture after I started painting Hay Rides, it was yellow before).

Once it was painted it looked great but I knew it needed a bit more, so SHIMMERZ to the rescue!! I pulled out my choc-o-lat shimmerz and got to work putting on one more layer.

It looks so much better now, I love it!!

Here is a close up and you can see the shimmerz, but....

When the sun is shinning right on it it looks AMAZING!! Hopefully I have inspired you to use some shimmerz and give your fall decor a little face lift!!

Tickle me Turquoise Wings

Happy Tuesday!! I hope everyone had a safe and fun Labor day weekend. Today I have a fun project to show you using one of the newest Shimmerz colors Tickle me Turquoise. I stamped Kristen with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it in with copic markers. I love to have all wings sparkle and I wanted these wings to really pop so I used the bold Turquoise shimmerz color.

Since it was a clean and simple design I wanted the image panel to really stand out against the card so I sprayed the chocolate chip layer with Baby's Breath Spritz to give it some extra sparkle.

I hope you have a great Tuesday, and a short week!!

Shimmery Accents

I hope you are having a great weekend so far, I have been having lots of fun creating in my new space and wanted to share one of the projects with you. I stamped this adorable little bitty bloom with Momento Tuxedo black ink and colored her with my copics. She was cute just like that but I knew that I wanted to give her just a bit more so I added in some highlights to the flower with my Lilac shimmerz.

I dabbed just a tiny bit of lilac shimmerz on my smallest and flattest paint brush and then ran it along the lines of the image to highlight the flower. It just gives it a extra small pop that it would not have before. There are so many colors of shimmerz that you are sure to find your match for adding highlights to your image. Why not give it a try?

I hope you all have a great weekend!! Thanks bunches for stopping by.

Happy Harvest

Happy Tuesday!! Today I am so excited to share with you my project for the swap that the Shimmerz team did with Cornish Heritage Farms Stamps. I was given a set called Happy Harvest from their GM Series to work with. I loved all the fall vegetables and fruits that were included with the set and I knew that I wanted to use them. I stamped them on my white sheet and colored them in with my copics. I then masked them off and sprayed the whole sheet with Baby's Breath Shimmerz. Using Baby's breath shimmerz is a very inexpensive way to get the look of the expensive sparkle paper. Plus when you mask the images and then spray it, the images seem to stand out more than they would if the whole paper was sprakley. I also wanted the ribbon to sparkle so I painted it with my Choc-o-lat shimmerz.

Stay tuned to see what the other design team members have created for you!!

Hope you have a great Tuesday!! Thanks bunches for stopping by.

Hair Accessories for little Girls

Are you getting your kids ready for school? Mine started last week and I have been busy making hair accessories to match their new outfits. I thought I would show you how easy they are to make and how Shimmerz makes them better than anything you could buy in the store. So grab your favorite drink and get ready to learn something fun that will put a smile on that special little girls face!!

First I go to my local hobby store and pick out some flowers that I really like, here I mainly bought large daises but you can use almost any type of flower you want as long as they are not single petals.

You next want to pull of the stems and the backing so that you can separate all the layers to the flower.

When you are done you will end up with a pile something like this. Pick out a few flowers that you would like to layer to make one big flower cluster. I usually do about 5 or 6 or different sizes.

Next I lay out my flowers and spray them with my Spritz. I am using baby's breath but if you want a certain color you can always spray your white flowers with any of the 21 colors of Spritz. Set them aside to dry, or you can use a heat gun if you are in a hurry.

Sometimes your flowers may be bent in funny directions, you can flatten them out by spraying them with your spritz and then using a heat tool or blow dryer to dry the spritz. Because the Spritz is water based it makes the flower wet removing any previous folding.

Once you have them all sprayed you can layer them to get your exact design before you make it permanent.

Start with your bottom flower and put hot glue in the center and then lay the next flower on top of it. Keep gluing and layering until all the flowers are in place.

At this point I like to give it one final spray with my baby's breath spritz, after all you can never have enough sparkle when it comes to little girls.

I always have to finish my centers, you could use a button or a brad whichever you prefer.

I use a 2 1/4 inch barrett for the back of my flowers so that it will fit in my 2 year old and 6 year old daughters hair. I glue it on with the hot glue gun and make sure to push the flower all the way down so there is flower glued to the entire barrett.

And now it is already to be used.

This flower was on the larger size but I like the big ones for pony tails and for pulling their sides up. You can make them smaller if you want to use them on pigtails or just one small flower to use with their hair pinned up. There are so many options with these!!

And the Shimmerz spritz gives them the sparkle that every little girl loves. My daughters always call it their fancy princess hair.

I hope you have learned something new to help make the first day of school special!! Thanks bunches for stopping by!!

Fairy Wings

I just love Arianna the fairy kissing the frog, she has to be one of my favorites. And I love to make all Fairies sparkle. I love that Shimmerz has such a wide variety of colors that no matter what color my fairy is there is going to be a color that will match perfectly for their wings. Because all fairies need to sparkle!!

Since she is dressed in pink I had to put Pink Shimmerz on her wings, she had to match *wink*. Have you tried the pink shimmerz yet? They are one of my favorite colors and if you love pink and use it a lot it is defiantly a color you need in your collection.

Hope you have a great Sunday, thanks bunches for stopping by!!

Impression Obsession meets Shimmerz

I am so excited to be able to participate in the swap between Impression Obsession and Shimmerz. Their images were so much fun to play with. I really loved these 3 ladies from the set On the beach, it just looks like something I would love to be doing right now instead of cleaning house. Plus there is lots of room in the images to add some shimmerz and make them sparkle.

My image is stamped with Momento Tuxedo black ink and then colored with copic markers. I wanted to add some sparkle to the sand so it smooshed my paint brush where the sand is with my Carmel Shimmerz. The ladies swimsuits are painted with Angel Wings shimmerz. And for the last finishing touch I sprayed my Pink back groundpaper with Cotton Candy Spritz to give it a nice subtle sparkle.

Don't you think these images work great with Shimmerz!! I am excited to play more with these images and to see what the other Design team members have done.

Thanks bunches for stopping by!!

Birthday Cake

Are you having fun on the blog hop? I figured that since we are celebrating Shimmerz birthday I would show you another sparkly birthday card. I don't think you can have a birthday card without a little sparkle and shimmez is so great because it doesn't overpower it just adds some pop!! I didn't want to make this card girly since is is for my Nephew but it can still have some sparkle and be manly.

I stamped Flopsey in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with my Copics. I painted my cake with Mellow Yellow Blingz, I just love this sparkle!!

Hope you have a great day!! Thanks bunches for stopping by.
