Sweet Summer June Color Kitz || Natalie Dill

Hi friends! Natalie here with the June 2020 Color Kitz. These Kitz are so full of summer fun & a great value with tons of product!

For $29.95 you receive
  • Boogie Boardin' Blue Creameez
  • Sunset Strip Vibez
  • Sunkissed Inklingz
  • Pool Me Close Shimmerz
  • Pretty in Pink Coloringz
  • Orange Sherbet Shimmerz
  • 1 exclusive Sunkissed Flower cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 wavy textured stencil
  • 1 set of "Summer Vibez" Dotz
  • 1 package of Minty Meadow Sequins from "Spiegelmom Scraps"
So much goodness!

For my layout, I decided to feature all the colors at once, a grid design would work best. I grabbed three photos of my son and sectioned my gessoed paper into 6 parts.

I used the awesome wave stencil from the kit to fill a couple of the squares. I then swirled the Boogie Boardin' Blue Creemez over the dried sand texture paste.

That Orange Sherbert Shimmerz is delicious! I mixed it with a tiny bit of  water on my stamping block to apply the color to the page. I like to use the stamping block to create a packaging technique when I need maximum control.

I added the color to each quadrant with the stamping block. I then added splatters oft he corresponding color to the color square.

For the monstera leaves, I gessoed my paper, cut them with my Cricut and used Don't Citron Me and Palm Reader to color them. These colors aren't included with this kit, but it's always good to have a stash for additional needs. In this case, I NEEDED monstera leaves!

I added black journaling under the title, so black splatters completed the page by adding a pop.

You can also watch a process video on my YouTube channel f you want to see how the full layout came together.

I placed all three of the Kit's Dotz on my layout, and I used a visual triangle to place them with the yellow sun at the top of the page. The Speigel Mom Scraps Minty Meadows sequins are the perfect ending touch to top the sparkle off your page!

Make sure to grab this HOT summer kit before it's sold out!
You can get yours in the Shimmerz Shop.

xoxo, Natalie

Adore Able | Niki Rowland

Hi Everyone, Niki back today with another mixed media layout to share with you. I am continuing my love affair with Creameez and Inklingz and these are what I used to create my background.

I started off with a piece of Marshmallow cardstock. I then used three colours of Shimmerz to create the background using the packaging technique. The colours I used are:
Red Necking Creameez
Witches Blue Creameez
Coral Reef Inklingz.

Red Necking is a soft red, if that makes sense. It's not a bright Christmas red, but has more of a pink tone, however it's still recognisable as red rather than pink. I'm using quite a bit of red at the moment and Red Necking is absolutely the perfect choice.

Witches Blue is a deep navy and it is my favourite navy to use at the moment. Navy is appearing in loads of collections right now but a navy spray on a background can be very dark and is sometimes a bit too intense. Witches Blue is great becuase it is a Creameez, meaning you have to activate it with water. You can choose how much water you add and therefore the intensity of the colour. If you add loads of water the colour will not be as strong. If you add only a little then the colour will be much richer. This means you can customise the colour for your individual layouts.

Once I had applied all three colours using the packaging technique, I then added lots of splatters in the same colours. I just use a paintbrush for this.

When my background was dry, I used Spun Sugar Dazzlers through an Echo Park Stencil. I applied it in small areas rather than all over. When that was dry I outlined some of the shapes with a black pen.

I then started to build up my layout. I had just the one photo and I created a photo stack behind it. I then added in some fussy cut flowers from a sheet of Dear Lizzy It's All Good Paper, and ephemera and flowers from Paige Evans Horizon.

I also used the Paige Evans Horizon swatch books to make the patterns on the two sides of this layout. I distressed the edges and stuck them in place and added machine stitching too. I finished off by adding a title using an acrylic word by Bramble Fox and some alphabet stickers, Blue Bonkers Sequins by Spiegel Mom Scraps and a few more splatters!

Thanks so much for joining me today, I had great fun creating this layout and I'm really happy with the result. Don't forget that if you place an order via the Shimmerz website, put my name in the comments for a freebie.

Happy scrapping xx

Good Vibes | Niki Rowland

Hi everyone, Niki back with you today with a very colourful layout to share! I went rainbow crazy with lots of Shimmerz Paints and the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happiness collection.

To create the background I started off by finding the middle point of a piece of Marshmallow card. I then drew a starburst very lightly in pencil. I then filled in each section of the starburst with different Shimmerz Paints.

I'm in love with Creameez at the moment, The colour is so intense. The more water added, the less intense they are, but if you only add a small amount of water the colour is very rich.

The colours I used are:

I applied all these using the packaging technique. I blotted the colours inbetween applications so that they didn't run into each other too much. When they were a little bit dry, I then added flicks of the same colours over each coordinating colour block.

When my background was dry I added my photos and a few layers of patterned paper. I then went crazy with the colour-on-colour embellishment where I used ephemera, sequins and stickers.

I love how this layout turned out! It is so bright and happy and I am really in love with rainbows at the moment! Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you have enjoyed this layout.

Don't forget that if you place an order via the Shimmerz website, enter my name in the comments and you will receive a little freebie in with your order. Happy scrapping xxx

#Happy layout with Sandi Clarkson

Hello, Shimmerz Paints fans!

Sandi Clarkson here with you today sharing a layout of baby grandson Joel.
He has been quite ill and this is the first time I have dared to scrap him.
Such a sweet photo!

I wanted to highlight our new Ahoy Matey Coloringz, so I chose a Creative Embellishments chipboard panel layering piece and a title to do just that! I've saturated both pieces with the Ahoy Matey Coloringz which is a great dark saturated Navy color, yum! And just to define it a bit better, I added just a hint of navy blue embossing powder in a few places.

Here is a close-up of the panel piece. You can also see my splatters of Glorious Day Vibez and Jeni B Bleu Vibez. And because they are new, I've included some of our partner Spigelmom Scraps Sequins Boymomlife sequins.  So perfect for a boy page!  (Just some gesso to blend.)

Here is, of course, the title piece and the bottom ridge of the Heart Panel. Once again you can see the great Ahoy Matey Colorings and the 2 Vibez colors as well as the sequins.

I'm notorious for adding flowers to my boy pages especially when they are still little like this, haha!
 Aren't those sequins fantastic?

One last close-up to show the dimension.
