Painting a Holiday Die Cut | Audrey Yeager

 Hello everyone and Happy Holidays!

Each year, I do 12 Days of Holiday Scrapping with process videos on my YouTube Channel.  On the first day of scrapping, I used my true love: SHIMMERZ paintz!  :)

I cut this cut file from white cardstock with my Silhouette, and then used a paintbrush to paint the leaves.  For the leaves, I used: Creamez "Pining for You"; Inklingz "Holly and Ivy"; Shimmerz "Celery"; Inklingz "Twinkle Twinkle";  and Creamez "Red Neckin". 

I backed just a few of the leaves with patterned paper, and on the silver ones, I used some sparkly, snowy confetti to add some shine and texture.  I backed my word die cuts with coordinating patterned paper as well.

I gessoed my background patterned paper, and used the packaging technique and some water-coloring to add a place for my photo to rest. For the background I used: Shimmerz "Going Peach Side";  Shimmerz "Pink Caviar"; and Creamez "Red Neckin".  Then I splattered with some Inklingz "Twinkle Twinkle".

Finally, I glued everything to my page, machine stitched over the edges of the die cuts, and added a few embellishments here and there.

Born To Explore | Boy Layout using Run! Forest, Pumpkin, Bumbly Bee | With Process Video

Hello Shimmerz friends!

Hope you are doing well and bright! Sharing this gorgeously starry layout with you today using oranges, yellows and greens. Link to process video can be found at the end of the post:

Started out with a white piece of cardstock that I've trimmed down to 11.5 by 11.5 in order to fit a border behind it later. Played a bit with the placement of patterned paper and pictures before getting out my colors:

- Can't Elope - Inklingz

- Bumbly Bee - Shimmerz
- Olive U Truly - Inklingz

- Run! Forest - Shimmerz

- Pining For You - Creameez

- Pumpkin - Pumpkin

- Orange Sherbet - Shimmerz

- Marigold - Shimmerz

I added the mixed media by colors; I began with the oranges (Can't Elope, Pumkin, Orange Sherbet) and let them dry a bit. Then added in the yellows (Bumbly Bee, Marigold) and finally worked with the greens. Each color group was worked with the packaging technique and splatters.

Once all the colors were dry, I glued my patterned paper (Amy Tangerine | Slice of Life | Rainbow Hall) and placed my pictures on craft foam for dimension. Added two small clusters of embellishments near my pictures. Had some leftover stars from a cutfile I had previously used (Circle Of Stars by Virginia Walker | COAPA Cutfiles); sprayed some of them with Tuscan Sun (Spritz) and others with Goldie Lox (Shimmeringz) and formed a sort of star burst effect on the layout with them. Each white star was added in on craft foam; I was punched out a few vellum stars and glued them unto the cardstock. Finished off the layout by added some Nuvo Drops, placed my title, wrote my journaling and then mounted the white cardstock unto a patterned paper (Amy Tangerine | Hustle and Heart). Turning Leaves

Hello!

Lee Ann here, with another fall inspired card for you.  The leaves are changing, but in my neck of the woods there are no vibrant colors yet.  This is what my card reflects. It's kind of how I feel too, lol.  Not ready for summer to be over but looking forward to all things fall! 

I colored my Technique Junkies image with lots of Shimmerz goodness.  I used a combination of products to give me varying degrees of shimmer.

This card was so easy, just coloring, with no special technique to explain!  I used the coal Shimmerz in the very back of the foliage to create depth on my card.

All of the different products blend beautifully, so no worry about one being Creameez, which is a watercolor paint with minimal shine and another being Coloringz, highly pigments spray without any shimmer.

Paradise Found with the Missy Whidden Color Kitz | Natalie Dill

I am so excited to have my first Shimmerz project on the blog today using the Missy Whidden Color Kitz - August Edition!

This color kit includes:

I had so much fun using this gorgeous color combination to create a Hawaiian layout! You can find the entire process video on my YouTube channel.

I cut the gorgeous, intricate cut file on gold metallic cardstock. I backed the flowers with vellum painted with the Beets Me and Plum Pudding. It paired so gorgeously with the DOTZ!

I used a small dotted stencil to apply texture paste down the middle of my 9x12 layout, and then I patch painted in the Pining for You & Rita on the Rocks greens and let them fully dry before applying the Plum Pudding and Beets Me colors, so as not to create a muddied color palette.

The colors are so vibrant, only minimal embellishment was needed to complete the layout. I let the Plum Pudding be the star of the show by letting the purple bleed out of the texturized rectangle & using it to color the word "paradise" in my title.

Even though the cut word gave me fits (probably because I was impatient and didn't let it fully dry), I love how the color dried darker around the edges, giving a natural emphasis around the title!

Embellishing with gold glitter and gold foil really gave this tropical layout the lush feeling I was craving!

Those Dotz are just the cutest and match perfectly with the Kitz colors! I love the versatility of the cut file. Changing the type of paper its cut on, or the size it is cut can be a super fun way to create a variety of styles on multiple pages using only one file!
