Magical Fun | Shimmerz Paints April Color Kitz | Sarah Millerhouse

Hello! I am excited to share my layout featuring the April 2023 Color Kitz and the Paper Color Kitz, combined with the Blooming Wild Collection! The colors in the April Kitz are so beautiful, and they worked perfectly for sunshine and water!

I have a link to the full process video at the end of this post!

I started this layout by creating the water at the bottom. I used texture paste and a Peartree Cutfiles stencil to add the textured dots. Once that dried, I sprayed on the Vibez - Deep Blue Sea. It is rich and vibrant, and it's my absolute favorite blue created by Shimmerz Paints! I then layered on the Inklingz - Me & Blue. It is shiny and shimmery, and it added the sparkle I was looking for. I also added the Inklingz - Ice Sage to the water, and these two Inklingz helped me achieve the shine I wanted to capture, mimicking sunlight on the water.

Once the blue section was dry, I added on another stencil from Peartree Cutfiles to create the sun rays. I put down a little Distress Oxide with a blending brush, and then I sprayed the Vibez - Here Comes the Sun on top of that. This gave me that bold golden yellow! While it was still wet, I splattered on Shimmerz - Limoncello from my stash. This added those lighter yellow sparkles peeking out of the sun rays.

Across the center, I tore strips of paper from the April Paper Color Kitz and the Blooming Wild collection in blues and yellows. This gave me the central foundation for my photo placement.
I added my sweet photo from our Jamaica trip and layered it up with patterned paper, chipboard frames, tags, and tabbed cards to create a focal point. I also added the title and embellishments, all from the Blooming Wild collection.

At the top of the layout, I added handstitching in between the rays of sunshine and a few more shiny embellishments from Buttons Galore. I loved creating this layout using all of the beautiful Shimmerz Paints goodness! If you place a Shimmerz Paints order, be sure to add my name, Sarah Millerhouse, in the comments section to receive a free gift!

Layout "Fantastic" | Anna Komenda

Hello Shimmerz fans. It's Anna here with my next project created with gorgeous Shimmerz products.
Today I want to share with You a layout full of hand painted flowers. I've gone wild with drawing, painting and fussy cutting many florals. I had so much of them, that I didn't need to add a lot more embellishments to my page :)

There is also a process video for You.

I am not a watercolor artist, I didn't take any classes, I am no expert at all. I just love flowers and decided to give them a try. I watched few YT videos about painting flowers. I also checked some flower sketches to get some ideas about shapes and forms. I sketched my own flowers. They are not the copy of real flowers - just a variation.

I used a lot of Aqua Huez and Creameez to color my sketches but I also used mists as a liquid watercolors. I mixed colors to get new shades. I chose two small pictures of me and my little girls because, after all that work, I didn't want to cover the background.

I used a hot glue to attach the flowers. It helps to add dimension to the page without using 3D foam squares. Just be careful with You fingers. I lost my thumb prints long time ago :D

I like using multiply colors so I painted flowers using blue, pink, red and purple. Leaves and twigs combine all the flowers together creating this "wildflower bouquet" effect.
I really love how this page turned out. It's quite thick - perfect for framing and hanging on the wall.

I used a lot of products:
Creameez - Refresh mint
Spritz - Bamboo leaf

Remember - if You want to get a free product while shopping at Simmerz store, don't forget to mention my name.

XO
Anna

A Victorian Heart Placard

Hi Shimmerz Peeps,

It's Katie today sharing an altered Styrofoam heart together with a Victorian chipboard frame onto a 4" x 6" chipboard... Valentine is just round the corner, instead of making cards, I decided to do up a placard as a form of display art piece...

I started off by adhering scrap pieces of vintage dictionary papers onto the chipboard and began to build up the background using Spritz and Inkingz, with a little stenciling using Dazzelerz... To give an old gold vintage look, I altered the Victorian chipboard frame, and hearts using several gold shades with ruby red...

Hope such a little artwork can inspire you a little for this coming Valentine...

Cheers!!!

MORE Project Life Cards!

Hi everyone.

I am getting ready for starting my PL this year.  (yes I am already behind!  LOL  What ever!)

But I have fun making these cards.  super easy with Shimmerz Paints.  This time I used Inklingz.  Love the variations in colour I can get from one paint.  Have a look at the sweet cards I ended up with.  Really, really easy BTW.... Just Watercolour Paper (I used Canson 300gsm) Inklingz in a few colours and pens.  I used stencils in a couple which turned out great as well!

Heres the stash I played with this morning!

as you can see.....I enjoyed the process!!!!

It does not get easier than this!
Love it!!!
Inklings are AWESOME

See you again soon.
