I couldn't resist using this fun candy jar image to create a Thank-You card for the crew at Impression Obsession. They were super sweet in sponsoring our Shimmerzteam this week!

Once again, I colored the image in different colors of Shimmerz, then went back and added shading with coordinating colored pencils. I love this effect! Take a closer look:

Shimmery Impressions

I am a scrapbooker at heart and I've never really thought of myself as a stamper or even a card maker for that matter, but when I heard that Shimmerz was teaming up with Impression Obsession, I knew I had to give it a go! IO has so many different types of stamps that I had a hard time trying to choose, until I came across the Noah's Ark stamp set. I have a few friends that have had babies very recently or are about to deliver any day now and I thought this set would make some really adorable cards!

To create this uber cute card, I used 3 stamps from the set, sea foam shimmerz spritz, ultra marine and orange sherbert shimmerz, gold glimmer, choc-o-lot, and pixie dust blingz.

I colored the rainbow, lion's mane, and ark with markers and colored pencils before adding shimmerz and blingz. For the roof of the ark, I just painted directly on white cardstock.

I painted along the stamped waves with ultra marine shimmerz and then spritzed them with sea foam shimmerz spritz before cutting them out and adhering to the card.

"New baby" is one of the stamps from the set. I mimicked the font with my own handwriting for "may your"; I wrote and stamped on white cardstock before spritzing with sea foam spritz. The inside of the card reads "shower your life with joy and happiness".

There you have it! Now if I can get over my hesitation and get my stamp on...so can you! Go ahead and give it a try!

Shimmery IO Birthday Butterflies!!

When I heard that we were going to do a swap with Impression Obsession, I was so excited! I just love their stamps and I love Shimmerz! So what a perfect match! I decided to use IO's Butterfly Frame set. I just love using butterflies on cards. I love to make them look as if they just landed on there.I first ran my card base through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder and then I sprayed some Shimmerz Spritz in Cotton Candy onto it. I then adhered the stamped frame to the front of the card and cut out the center using a craft knife. I only used Shimmerz to color in everything, no other coloring mediums. There is Under the Sea, Hotty Pink and Pink Poinsettia Shimmerz Blingz on the Butterflies and Gold Glimmer, Pink Poinsettia and Celery on the frame. I stamped the Happy Birthday onto an oval piece of paper, sprayed it again with some Cotton Candy Shimmerz Spritz and adhered it to the inside of the card along with another butterfly. (The single butterflies on the card, actually come in a cluster on 1 stamp, but I simply inked each one individually and then trimmed them out.) To finish it off, I added some gingham ribbon and a bow.

Sweet on Impression Obsession & Shimmerz

We've gotten to enjoy some fabulous projects so far with this fun partnership with Impression Obsession this week. This has been so much fun!

I'm a big fan of cupcakes. Even though there is so much color going on in my project, I wanted to make sure that the cupcake is the star of the show. I chose to do this by bringing attention to the flower petals by making them sparkly, thereby drawing the eye to the center where the cupcake resides.

Usually when I spray flowers with Spritz or paint flowers with Shimmerz or Blingz, I start out with white flowers and build color with the paints only. This time, the flowers were already colored at the outset. The flower in the background was a peachy-pink and the flower in the front was a light yellow-green. I built the color on the background flower by spraying it with a very light coating of Bed of Roses Spritz. I didn't want to change its color too much. With the yellow-green flower, I wanted more of the yellow color to be accented. I sprayed it three times with the Chick-a-dee Spritz, allowing time for it to dry between layers.

For a pretty dot of sparkle, I painted the cherry at the top of the cupcake with the Fire Engine Red Shimmerz. It's the perfect shade for a ripe summer cherry, wouldn't you say?


I added the closeup photo to show just how sparkly the beautiful Spritz'd flowers are. It also highlights the pretty shine in the cherry.

Merry Shimmery Christmas with Impression Obsession

Wow! I am super excited about this Impression Obsession and Shimmerz swap. I got to make a Christmas card in July :)
The stamp set I used on this card is called Christmas Tree Mouse. I just love this cute mouse and know it will be one of my favourites for this year's Christmas cards. Christmas is the season of shimmer and glitter and I just love using shimmery products on the cards. And the Shimmerz works so well with this image.
Here you see the image coloured with ink refillers, before I used some Shimmerz on it.

And on this picture you see the image after I used Shimmerz on it! Double click the picture too see all the shimmery details;) Do you see the difference?!?! It's just amazing!! On the hat I used a little bit of Choc-o-lot. The star was painted with Candle Light and on the tree I used Green Olive. Around the image I painted twice with Mint to really make it sparkle a lot and to make an impression of the snow!

The snowflake chipboard was painted with Mint. When it was dry I sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz Babys Breath.
The flowers and leaves are sprayed with Spritz Mudpie.

On this tag I used the text stamp and the holly from the stamp set. I sprayed it all with Spritz Mudpie.

Out to Impress!

When I first heard that Impression Obsession was going to do a Product Swap with Shimmerz, I was so excited! I have several Impression Obsession images and have been long been a fan of their stamps. The pairing is absolutely perfect, too - Shimmerz makes the perfect medium for coloring in these great images. Just take a look at the shine I was able to add to this coffee cup image from the "Smell the Coffee" set:

All I added there was a touch of pink and celery Shimmerz! The image was initally colored with Copics; I applied the Shimmerz right over the top for a great look.

One of the things that is so fun about Impression Obsession is the wide variety of stamps that they carry. This stamp is such a beautiful garden scene, and I used a bunch of Shimmerz products on it without it being overpowered. The background is covered in Shimmerz Spritz in Baby's Breath, which shows well here:

This picture lets you see the Evergreen, Sky Blue, and Royal Red that I used on other areas:

I added a little Flower Soft and pearls and created a gorgeous card with tons of detail!

This series of topiaries is just a delightful stamp! I knew right away that this image was just MADE for Shimmerz! I painted the image first, then added in shading with matching colored pencils. Just look at how beautifully it turned out!

Shimmerz and Impression Obsession Meets Vintage

Hi All, the Shimmerz and Impression Obsession match-up continues today and here is one of my makes using some gorgeous Impression Obsession Stamps with the yummy sparkly Shimmerz paints. Thanks guys for letting me have a play :)

Details: I just felt that this wonderful vintage dress stamp Feminine Form matched beautifully with a vintage feel card. I've coloured the stamp with distress inks and Shimmerz Paints Aqua Marine and Angel Wings, the background under the doily is the fabulous Porcelain Crackle stamped onto patterned paper that had been sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz Baby's Breath. Both the doily and the patterned paper yo-yos where also sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz Baby's Breath. I finished the card with some paper distressing, partial sewing, buttons and a bead charm recycled from a broken necklace.

Shimmerz and Impression Obsession

We are super excited because Impression Obsession is sponsoring the Shimmerz Design Team this week. If you're not familiar with this stamp company, you should really check them out. They offer wood mounted, unmounted and acrylic stamps and with thousands of images in their catalog, there's something for everyone's taste. And both their line art and solid images are perfect to use with Shimmerz!

For my project I made a gift set, which includes a card, reading journal and bookmark.

Both the card and journal use the clear stamp set Damask Floral. The leaves and flowers in this set reminded me of peacock features, so I paired it with their Peacock stamp on the bookmark. Keeping with the peacock theme, I chose shades of blue, green and gold for my project.

The main panel of the card is a piece of water color paper that I created a salted background on with yellow ink. To create the flowers, I stamped three different images from the Damask Floral set with navy ink and colored them with Celery and Evergreen Shimmerz. I highlighted some areas with a gold paint pen and added extra sparkle with Gold Glimmer Blingz. Here's a closer look:

For the reading journal, I covered a chipboard album with Basic Grey patterned paper and sprayed it with one coat of Baby's Breath Spritz. The leaves are one image that I stamped onto the front of the journal with black ink and onto a piece of cream c/stock. I colored the three leaves with Copic markers and painted them with Celery and Evergreen Shimmerz and December Sky Blingz. I cut out the leaves, accented them with pearls and added them to the journal with foam pop dots.

And finally, the bookmark.

I sponged the background with numerous shades of green and blue inks, then covered it with a wash of December Sky Blingz. I stamped this gorgeous Peacock over the top with black ink and highlighted him with a gold paint pen. I cut the image into three, mounted it onto black card stock and added an eyelet and fibers. Spritzing a Butterfly

I have a really fun little project to share with you today that uses the new Shimmerz Spritz and a fun Impression Obsession stamp set. Impression Obsession is sponsoring the Shimmerz design team this week, and I chose this very versatile Butterflies and Blossoms set to use on my project. I have been having such a great time playing around with my Spritz, and have tried it on so many different materials. This technique I actually discovered accidentally.

My plan was to stamp the image with Black Versafine ink and heat emboss it with clear embossing powder....so far so good... Well, then I spritzed it heavily with my favorite Spritz color - Tuscan Sun. I was going to wipe it off the embossed areas, but the phone rang. When I came back in, the Spritz had settled into all the little grooves of the embossing and given it this almost stone-like effect which I just love! I also spritzed the primas before adding them. This container is just an empty Crystal Lite container. For the topper on it, I made a little ribbon flower with some cream colored ribbon and spritzed it with Eucalyptus. Then I stamped this really cool Sun image and embossed it too. I punched it with a circle punch and layered it with a spritzed prima and one of the Bloom centers.
