Roses | Fresh Start Stampz | Melinda

Happy Saturday Shimmerz friends,
Melinda here and today I am sharing a card featuring the Shimmerz Fresh Start Stampz Set. This is the perfect stamp set to pick up to get your Valentine's day projects done!

Here is a look at my completed card. It  is an A2, top folding card created with some black cardstock as the base. I then added another piece of black for a mat.

Here is a closer look at the background. I cut strips of 3/4” wide white cardstock and then ran them through my die cut machine with a wood grain embossing folder. I then spritzed the paper with some Jeni B Bleu Vibez spray. I hit the raised parts with my white pigment ink pad and then dabbed some additional spray onto various areas to get the depth and variation of color.

Here’s a closer look at the square mat the roses sit on. It to started out as plain white cardstock. I spritzed that with a combination of Jeni B Bleu Vibez and some Glorious Day Vibez Spray. I love the mix of warm and cool colors. I matted that onto a decorative square panel I created and cut from my craft cutting machine.

Here is a closer look at the flowers. I used two of the three layered stamps in the Fresh Start Stampz Set. I then brushed just a touch of Pink Bubble Gum Blast – Shimmerz Paint to the flowers and added some pearls to the centers.

I stamped the sentiment with some gray ink and then mounted it to my card. Here you can also see the little pearl embellishments to accent the frame.

I finished of the card by adding a border of seam binding down the middle and then adding a bow to that.

Here is one last look at my completed card. It really is not too hard to reproduce and is a lot of fun to add these beautiful sprays and paints to see what beautiful effects they create!

Color Challenge Floral Wreath Balloon Card | Melinda Beltran

Happy Saturday crafty friends,
My name is Melinda and I am so super excited to  be on the Shimmerz Creative Card Design Team!  I can't wait to share some projects with you. Here is a look at my first one.

Our challenge this month is to use one of their products as the focus. The product I chose was Pip Pip Cherry – O Shimmerz Paint.  For my project, I started by creating the cut files that I used. I then cut all of the pieces out in white cardstock.  I used some of the Pip Pip Cherry – O Shimmerz  paint to paint my flower petals. For the larger flower, I did also use some Bubble Gum – Shimmerz paint.

For the wreath, I layered 3 of the die cuts together to give them a sturdy, chipboard type feel. I then used some of the Puttin On The Glitz – Pasteez to add some glimmer and texture to my die cut. It is hard to capture that sparkly shine, but it is on there and looks so pretty. In this view you can also see that I used the Bed of Roses Stamp Set to stamp both my gray and pink cardstock to create a background.

Next, I turned to my flowers, I used some of the Pip Pip Cherry – O Shimmerz to paint my flowers the beautiful Hot Pink. For the larger flower I did add some Bubble Gum – Shimmerz for a gradient look. I staggered, layered and curled the flower petals to give them some dimension.I added a pear to their centers and a soft bow from some seam binding ribbon.

For the balloon, I used the Lovely Balloons Stamp Set. I stamped it with some light gray ink and then used a fine point paint brush to brush some Pip Pip Cherry – O Shimmerz, Bubble Gum – Shimmerz and some Puttin' On The Glitz – Pasteez. I fussy cut it and then used some foam tape to give it a little lift.

I added a sentiment from the Lovely Balloons Stamp Set by stamping the banner and one of the words with my gray ink. I fussy cut it out and added it to my card. I finished off my card by adding some pearls to my frame.

Valentine's Day has passed, but we can always find the time to think about love.The amazing thing about the products Shimmerz is that the richness of the color and the shimmers is not lessen even if you use it on fabric and wood.

I cut the hearts from a piece of black velvet and I colored them with Razzel Dazzel Berry Vibez and Bubble Gum Shimmerz.

Painting with Shimmerz

Shimmerz Paints will create the most shimmery, glowing, watercolor effect when used on a Prima Paintable. I love the amazing, translucent quality here!!

I started by painting the swirl with Jilted Jade And Sunny Shimmerz, blending the colors together.

Then misted over the painting with Cotton Candy Spritz. While it was still damp, I opened the bottle of Sea Foam Spritz and painted the edges with a brush, like a watercolor wash.

As a finishing touch I painted the butterflies and flower centers with Bubble Gum and Sugar Plum Shimmerz.

A shot to show some of the dimension I put into this piece.

My daughter paid me the highest compliment when she saw this project.....it is hanging in her room, at her request.

Love wall hanging using Shimmerz and Blingz

I created this HOME wall hanging using January kit from My Scrapbook Nook and Shimmerz paints and Blingz. All the little elements are hand cut by me. The chipboard cloud base is an album I had laying around.

After I adhered the paper to my chipboard base I sanded the edges and then painted all around with Bubble Gum Shimmerz and Hi Ho Silver Shimmerz Blingz.

I have a bag of make-up sponge wedges to use for dabbing and painting. They are inexpensive and I can wash them out and reuse. The clouds are hand drawn and cut from patterned paper. I painted each one with Hi Ho Silver Blingz. I added Hi Ho Silver Blingz to the roof, as well.

Blingz is just like Shimmerz, except they have more sparkle and are thicker than Shimmerz. That is why you can see nice, big sparkles on my project.

CPS #138 and Shimmerz

Hi, Daniela here, with my take on CPS #138 sketch. I made this card with polka dot paper that I made by stamping and embossing. The background is Crate Paper and then I used a journaling note, for my butterfly and the sentiment.I die cut the butterfly from old book pages using my Cuttlebug die. I sprayed the butterfly with Licorice Shimmerz Spritz and then painted with December Sky Blingz, Golden Wheat and Bubble Gum Shimmerz. I used a heat gun to set each color before moving to the next color.
The journaling note is sprayed with Tuscan Sun, Sea Foam and Licorice Shimmerz Spritz.
