Strong Together | Ericka Strange

Happy Monday Shimmerz Fanz and I hope the start of this new week finds you healthy and well. Ericka here with another card I made for the Shimmerz Spring Forward Challenge. The challenge is all about making a layout or card WITHOUT using PATTERNED PAPER!! I made a fun background using Tidy Widy Texturz with some Sprtiz and Coloringz.

I started with some Bristol Smooth cardstock and sprayed a couple of layers of Chick-a-Dee Spritz. Once it was dry, I mixed some Tidy Widy Texturez with some 4 Leaf Clover Sprtiz. Texturez have a grit or snady texture in the paste and I used my palette knife to spread it around my background. I sprayed some In Deep Coloringz on some plastic and added smooshed it on the background to give it additional texture.

I knew I wanted to use this Strong Sentiment from Ellen Hutson but my card needed something else, so decided to include the Bear from the All Inside set as well.

I sprayed the bear with Grey Flannel Vibez and added a little colored pencil for additional details. I also added some white gel pen to his eyes and a little pink to his cheeks. I painted the bunny with Ride the Tide Creameez and added it to my bear.

I made a little sign by attaching the Together sentiment which is part of the Be Strong set and added a little handle for him to hold.

I finished my card with a die cut sentiment and Glossy Accents for shine!

Rainbow Cupcakes | Ericka Stange

Hello everyone, Ericka here with a fun rainbow cupcake card I made using lots of vibrant Coloringz and Spritz.

I love all these gorgeous rainbow of colors. I started by stamping the Visible Image cupcakes on Bristol Smooth paper and heat embossing them with some clear sparkle. Then I had fun spraying the cupcakes with several layers of color using the following sprays:
Coloringz - Lil' Yellow Skool Bus and Pink Stilettos
Spritz - 4 Leaf Clover, Sapphire, and Cotton Candy

I fussy cut out each of the cupcakes and added then to my stenciled background with foam tape.

I added the Visible Image Happy Birthday sentiment and heat embossed it with WOW Blue Glitz for some more shine.

As a finishing touch, I added these adorable clay polymer Wildflowers from Miss Ink. They are so tiny and adorable!

Thanks for stopping by and check out my blog Strangely Creative for more information on the products I used. Also don't forget we have a Spring Forward Challenge coming up in March! Join us as we create projects without ANY patterned paper.

"Merry Christmas" Scrapbooking Layout | Simone Schermann

Hi Shimmerz friends, it's Simone again with my last 12x12 layout as a member of the Shimmerz Education Team. I had a fabulous year working with the amazing Shimmerz products and loved every minute with you all! Things didn't go so well with my layout this month. I started out with this brilliant idea in mind, but it just didn't translate well onto paper and so after I had pushed through and had finished, I decided I needed to start over. So I salvaged some essential parts and the photo cluster and tried again. I'm very happy that I decided to use a different background and only use four of the mixed trees.

The mixed media trees are cut from green cardstock using a free cut file from the Paper Issues store and then dipped in different paints and splattered on. I had created a whole bunch of them for my first idea this is shown in the video and I love how the different shades of green make the flat trees look more dimensional.

For the title I used gold glitter thickers, I wasn't sure at first if that was a good idea because some of the paints had a very silvery shimmer. As you can see, the shimmer doesn't clash at all. I order to justify the gold I added some gold splatters as well as gold enamel dots.

Here is a link to my process video on youtube. Where you can see part of the disaster layout and then the change of plan. If you place an order in the Shimmerz Store, don't forget to mention my name Simone in the comments at checkout to receive a free mini surprise product! Thanks for stopping by today!

Adore - A soft layout with Karine

Hi Shimmerz Paints fans,

Karine is here today to share a soft layout. Here it is.

I started out with the Dramy meadows paper from Out of the blue. I covered it with a thin layer of clear gesso. Then, to add texture to my background, I used modeling paste through a stencil.

I was after a soft look for this layout about my partner, so I choose the following colors: Freshly Minted Inklingz, Get Glowing and Marshmallow Creameez and 4 Leaf Clover Spritz. As usual, I applied the colors with a brush, making sure each color was dry before I add another one.

I stamped my background to add even more texture. I used two stamps with grey ink, and another one with yellow ink.

I painted my chipboard (the Mod Squares from Blue Fern Studios) with white gesso.

I added Art Stones, mini Art Stones, some Sage mini Prills and some yellow grained grit, for an extra texture.

I used grey wire thread, a flair and a Blue Fern Studios title which I painted with white gesso.

Most of my flowers are from Prima.

I made a video tutorial to show you my creative process.

And don't forget to mention my blog if you order some Shimmerz, you'll get some free paint!

Have a nice day!

Lovely, by Karine Gagnon

Hi,

Karine is here today and I'm here to share my second creation for September. Here it is.

Lovely

I love the subtle colors of this layout against the contrasting black and dark greys.

My background is made with a few colors. I used three shades of green: Feshly Minted Inklingz, 4 Leaf Clover Spritz and Hermit the Frog Vibez. I used water to blend the two together in some places, while I left them separated in other areas. On the picture above, we can see that I also used some Licorice Stick Dazzelerz through a stencil.

I used Taupe of the Morning Vibez and Taupe of the World Spritz (both part of the Mono Tonez) to add contrast to my layout. I even used the Vibez to color a flower.

I wanted to add lace, but I didn't have black lace. I ended up making my own by spraying white lace with Taupe of the Morning Vibez. I love the result.

My title piece was covered with white gesso first, and then, I used Freshly Minted Inklingz to color it.

A grungy, book page, Shimmered background

Hi Everyone!
Its my turn again to share a page I created today.....

I used primarily what was sitting on my table today!
Some tags from a clothing store, some left over tickets and bits and pieces I pulled for another page but did not use or return to their packets yet, a die cut or two.....Unfortunately my table is still messy and it did not have much impact on its tidiness!!!!

I used Helmar Decoupage medium to glue some bookpages to my background paper

Then tore it off leaving a grungy covering.
(I added more and tore off, again and again, to get it the way I wanted.)

I used Gesso here and there over areas of the page to dull down the text and the dotted paper in places and
I sprayed Sea Monkey and Vertigre Vibez and 4 leaf Clover Spritz, starting with the lightest first....
(Sea Monkey)

So then I sprayed some tags and the Alphas and other bits and pieces and mopped up what was on the craft sheet with the items, utilising all the shimmer!

And That was my play day with Shimmerz.

Get out your Shimmerz today!
