Shimmerz Rainbow

I hope you are all doing well and having a fantastic day. Ericka here playing with the Shimmerz Paints and making a fun rainbow card.

I love all the beautiful and bright Shimmerz available and thought I'd play around making a rainbow. I stamped the Essentials by Ellen Over It rainbow in embossing ink so I could see the lines and  I started painting.

I used  the following Shimmerz colors to make my rainbow:

• Crimson Tide
• Orange Sherbet
• Bumbly Bee
• Evergreen
• Tickle Me Turquoise
• Royal Purple

I love how bright and fun this rainbow came out. Once it was dry, I added stars to the bottom and heat embossed them with WOW! Embossing Cloud 9. I added the sentiment in black ink and then for a little extra shine, used WOW! Embossing Pink Fizz for the hearts.

Shimmerz Transformation | Ericka Strange

Happy Saturday Shimmerz Fanz! I hope you are getting some crafting time in this weekend! Ericka here with an Autumn butterfly card using a fun variety of Shimmerz and Vibez.

Since it is technically fall (we're still waiting here in Houston Texas lol), I decided to try some more Autumn colors that I normally don't use.

I started by stamping this Transformation set from The Ton on watercolor paper and gold embossing it. Then I used the folloring products to paint my butterfly and flowers (click on the name for more details): 

• Shimmerz - Ultra Marine, Bumbly Bee, Marigold, Orange Sherbert, Coffee, and Evergreen
• Inklingz - Steely Blue Eyes
• Vibez -  Before Dawn

I watered down the Before Dawn Vibez spray to give the butterfly a shadow after painting the background with Steely Blue Eyes.

I love how well the Marigold and Orange Sherbet blend together. Here is a better picture showing off the gorgeous shine of these products.

More Summer Fun | Ericka Strange

Hello Shimmerz Fanz and Happy Summer! I hope you are all enjoying the your summer and hopefully a more relaxing pace. Ericka here with a couple of cards I made using the free Summer Fun cut file shared on the Facebook page Shimmerz Paints Sharez. Hopefully you are already part of the group, if not click on the name above and join up for some fun giveaways, contest and challenges this Summer!

This cut file was so fun to play with and there are so many great ways to use it. For my first card I used the whole cute file and made a square card measuring 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". I wanted to use all of these fun designs and cut them on my Silhouette. Once they were cut, I used a variety of Shimmerz to paint the images. Check out the products below for a list of colors.

After my page dried, I removed the cut portions and used spray adhesive to adhere it to a white card base.

I was tempted to leave the card just like this since I didn't want to cover up any of these fun images. In the end I used an older cut file and added the sentiment using black vinyl and vellum.

For my second card, I used only half of the cute file and made a regular A2 card.

I traced out where I wanted to place the cute file on watercolor paper and then filled in the blocks with Shimmerz Bumble Bee, Pip Pip Cherry O, Peacock's Plum and Orange Sherbet.

I used the same sentiment for the card with black vinyl and vellum.

For my third card I used Spritz in Caribbean Sunset and Sapphire on watercolor card stock.

I sprayed the Caribbean Sunset and let the layer dried and then used the Sapphire. This cut file has so many great options.

Live laugh Love Together | Niki Rowland

Hiya Shimmerz Fans, Niki here today with another layout to share. I was inspired by layouts I've seen around lately with thick coloured stripes on the background so I thought I'd try that out for my layout today.

I choose four colours of Shimmerz paints that I thought would match my papers well. They are: Going Peach Side, Bumbly Bee, Orange Sherbert and It's Mint to Be. All these are original Shimmerz paints and I used them with a thick paintbrush straight out of the pot. There was no need to add any water as they are already the perfect consistency.

Once my stripes were painted and dry I added a little tone on tone stamping with a set of border stamps. I then flicked paint splatters in the same colours all over the stripes.

To make my layout I positioned my photo and title onto my layout and then added tone on tone embellishments. I've used Oh Happy Day by Simple Stories for this layout as well as an acrylic word by Bramble Fox.

Hi everyone, Niki back with you today with a very colourful layout to share! I went rainbow crazy with lots of Shimmerz Paints and the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happiness collection.

To create the background I started off by finding the middle point of a piece of Marshmallow card. I then drew a starburst very lightly in pencil. I then filled in each section of the starburst with different Shimmerz Paints. 

I'm in love with Creameez at the moment, The colour is so intense. The more water added, the less intense they are, but if you only add a small amount of water the colour is very rich.

The colours I used are:

Yellow: Shimmerz Bumbly Bee

Green: Shimmerz Celery

Mint: Shimmerz It's Mint to Be

Blue: Creameez Witches Blue

Red: Creameez Red Necking

Pink: Creameez Pink Champagne

Orange: Shimmerz Orange Sherbert

I applied all these using the packaging technique. I blotted the colours inbetween applications so that they didn't run into each other too much. When they were a little bit dry, I then added flicks of the same colours over each coordinating colour block.

When my background was dry I added my photos and a few layers of patterned paper. I then went crazy with the colour-on-colour embellishment where I used ephemera, sequins and stickers.

I love how this layout turned out! It is so bright and happy and I am really in love with rainbows at the moment! Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you have enjoyed this layout.
