Hey all, Nicole here today sharing my layout using the September Color Kitz Bundle. I am documenting a beautiful sunset we saw on our walk in August!
The first thing I did for this page was to use my paints to make my own version of the sunset on the background.
I then used some papers from the kit and fussy cut out the details and added the strips to the layout with foam tape.
I then finished my layout by clustering together all the embellishments from the kit.
Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout! I also have a process video for this layout that you can watch here: Desert Sunset Process Video
Hey all! Nicole here with my first page using the September Color Kitz! I am documenting a photo of me in my favorite room from TeamLabs Borderless in Tokyo.
I first cut the butterfly cut file that is exclusive for the Color Kitz out of kraft paper. I then lightly traced it on a sheet of watercolor paper. I used all the paints from the Kitz to make the background behind the butterfly. Once dry I attached the butterfly to the page with foam tape. I then attached my watercolor page to the yellow patterned paper as shown.
Next I added my photo to the right of the butterfly. I then added a little cluster of embellishments from the kit next to my photo.
Lastly I added a little cluster to the top left of my page. I cut out two strips of paper from the patterned papers, embellished with die cuts and then added some puffy stickers and a dot.
Thanks so much for coming on to read about my layout! I hope it gets you in a crafty mood. If you decided to grab this kit from the shop don't forget to use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a free gift with your order!
Hi Crafty Friends! Melissa Minor here on the blog. I'm excited to be sharing another layout with you. Today I'm using the September Color Kitz. I'm celebrating love the whole month long since my boyfriend Dale & I celebrated our 2 year dating anniversary this month. The pictures I'm scrapbooking are of us visiting our favorite sunflower field in Iowa. The very next day after our visit a storm came through and wiped out all these beautiful flowers for the rest of the season. I'm so happy we were able to go and visit when we did.
To begin my layout I started with a piece of Mixed Media cardstock. I pulled a 12x12 stencil from my stash. The stencil actually has flowers and leaves on it. But I only wanted the leaves portion. So I used a foam ink dauber and brushed on a mixture of Distress Grit Paste and Vibez-Moss-Terious Green. The dauber gave me a little more control over where the mixture was applied. I love the soft look of the leaves with the green color mixed into the paste. Then I took some of the Moss-Terious Green and added a bunch of splatters.
For my embellishments I fussy cut the flowers and leaves from the coloring sheet included in the Color Kitz. I placed the pieces on a low tack sticky mat and began painting them. I used Shimmerz-Limoncello for the flowers. I pulled out Vibez-Mustard Seed from my stash and applied to the center of my flowers. For the leaves I painted them with the Moss-Terious Green. It's hard to appreciate on camera how beautiful these embellishments really are. They sparkle and shine since they were painted with Shimmerz. They are so pretty! I wanted to pull the blue color from my dress onto the layout. I used one of the stickers that looks like a piece of washi tape and placed above my focal photo. Then to carry the blue around the page I used the blue sunflower dotz. You can see I also added a blue watering can sticker too. My layout needed a title. I went to my huge stamp collection and found just the perfect title. The stamp is from Close to My Heart - Love Lives Here. Now I have the blue color in three places on my layout.
Did you see the bonus bundle this month? Wow! The sequins are very eye-catching. I pulled the blue, green, and yellows to use on my page. I decided to add a whole line of them along the bottom of the layout. This was the perfect finishing touch! Be sure to add my name (Melissa Minor) to your Shimmerz Paints orders to receive a free gift. This also lets Shimmerz know I referred you. I hope this layout has given you some inspiration for your Color Kit. That's all for me this month. Check out my process video below. I'll be back next month with the October kit.
Hello, friends! I am so excited to show you my newest layout using the September Color Kitz!
For this layout, I chose to use the cut file that comes with kit.
But I wanted to add some splatters to my base paper only. I mixed together Shimmerz-Limoncello and just a drop of Vibez-Mango Tango to create this beautiful golden color. I splattered it onto my paper using a small paintbrush so I could get some fine splatters instead of large, chunky ones.
Then I pulled out some of the cardstock ephemeral pieces that I wanted and clustered them around the frame that I used for my photo. I glued them all together so I could move them around as one piece.
Finally, I chose to place the cluster in the center of the cut file. When I did this originally, it covered up too much of it so I cut apart the top 3rd and angled it on top of my cluster so that more of it was peeking out from underneath. I was so pleased with that result that I chose not to add any further elements to my page.
I hope this helps inspire your next layout using the Shimmerz Color Kitz! Please check out the Shimmerz Shop for more information on all of the goodies that come in the September kitz. And don't forget to add my name to your order for a FREE product if you choose to make a purchase.

Hi crafty friends! Melissa Minor here and I'm super excited to be sharing a scrapbook layout with you using the September 2024 Color Kitz. I created today's layout to celebrate my two year dating anniversary with my boyfriend Dale. We started dating back in September 2022. 💖 This is my favorite picture of us. I've been waiting for just the right papers to scrap it. The Color Kitz this month is it! I knew right away I wanted to use the beautiful cut file that came in the kit. I printed it on black cardstock. I backed the cut file with various patterned papers from the Color Kitz. I think this cut file is the star of my page. It's absolutely gorgeous!
I wanted the cut file to really pop. So, I applied Shimmerz-Limoncello from the kit and Vibez-Mustard Seed behind the flower. I thought the yellow color behind the flower looked like sunshine peeking through. For my title I used a stamp/die from my stash. I die cut the words "I Love". Then I stamped a couple sentiments and backed them with the pink patterned paper. I distressed the edges of all the papers.
Next it was time to embellish my layout. I used the pre-cut flowers from the ephemera pack. I did trim off the white edges with my scissors. I thought the flowers needed some leaves. I took out a sheet of mixed media cardstock and painted the whole sheet with the Vibez-Moss-Terious Green. I used some dies and cut leaves from that sheet. I love how shimmery the leaves look. They are so pretty and just what the page needed. I added the heart dotz and some yellow pearls to finish today's layout. I like how the yellow in the dotz and the yellow in the pearls draws the yellow painting out.
The September Color Kitz is stunning. If you place an order on the Shimmerz Paints website be sure to leave my name in the comments sections to receive a free gift. You can add my name to every order you place. I think today's layout is my absolute favorite page in my album. You can watch the whole process in the linked video below. I hope this has given you some inspiration for the Color Kitz this month! Have a great week!
Happy Crafting,
Melissa Minor (aka Cards By Melissa Minor)
I also have an unboxing video if you'd like to see the full September Color Kitz here.
Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today sharing a layout using the beautiful September 2022 Color Kitz. This months kit has some pretty Fall colors in it and I had so much fun creating my page!
When working with the Color Kitz, I always work with the cut file first. I cut it once and then offset the inner pieces so that after I was done adding my paints to it, it would be the perfect size to back my cut file with. I painted all of my backing pieces using all of the colors in the kit. Make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post so you can see how I painted them all.
I used a piece of thick white cardstock as my base and sprayed/splattered all of the colors (minus Olive Branch) all over the background. I just wanted a little something extra behind my cut file. I popped the cut file up on foam tape and adhered it down vertically.
Here's an up close shot at another part of the cut file.
Next, I matted my photo with one of the Vintage Journaling Cards from the kit and layered a few ephemera pieces from my stash around it as well.
I then added the Dotz from the kit around my page making sure to add one with my title.
Here's another cluster with one of the other Dotz. I didn't embellish too heavily because I wanted my mixed media and cut file to be a big part of my layout.
Here's one last look at my layout using this super pretty Color Kit!
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way! Make sure to add my name to the notes/comments section of all of your Shimmerz orders and you'll receive a small freebie. See you next time friends!
Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here with you today sharing a new layout using the gorgeous September 2021 Color Kitz! For an up close look at the kit contents and to see how this page came together, make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post. Here's my layout:
To start, I took all of the colors in the kit (minus Silver Bells) and put them all down on my glass mat. I then took the inner leaf pieces from the cut file and smooshed them into the colors allowing them to blend and mix together. This technique totally gives it a different look when the paint dries and I love it! It does get your hands messy, but who doesn't like to get a little messy every now and then??
While the leaves were drying, I pulled out a piece of thick white cardstock and added gesso to it. Once it was ready, I sprayed and splattered all of the colors in the kit into a circle shape. I wanted a fun background for the cut file to sit on top of. After it was dry, I adhered the cut file down and added foam tape to all of my leaf pieces and put them back in their appropriate spots. I love how it turned out!
Next, I pulled out the Dotz from the kit and created three different embellishment clusters using some floral ephemera as well. I added in some tangled thread and adhered the Dotz to each cluster. I then took the foliage stickers from the kit and tucked/layered them in. I popped them up on foam tape to give them some extra lift.
Here's another shot of the Dotz:
I embellished the rest of my page and that finished off my page! The background and cut file were both super busy so I didn't want to take too much away from them.
Have you tried the smooshing technique using your Shimmerz Paints? It's so fun! Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope that I've inspired you in some way! Please check out my process video below and make sure to add your name to the notes/comments section to your next order and you'll receive a free gift! See you next time friends!
Hey everyone, this is Niki (@Nikiclairecreates) and I have a new layout
and video to share today using the beautiful September
Color Kitz which contains:
Blue Jeans Vibez
Buttercream Shimmerz
Magenta Shimmerz
Iris My Case Shimmerz
Ice Sage Inklingz - which is a
new exclusive colour.
Also in the September Color Kitz
is a set of three Dotz with super cute designs, and some cute wooden clothes
pegs.
As well as all that, there is an
exclusive cut file. This month it's the 'Stella Flower' which is a beautiful
layered flower.
I cut the Stella Flower quite
small, five times out of a piece of Marshmallow cardstock. While the flowers
and all their layers were all still stuck to my cutting mat, I painted them
using three of the September Color Kitz colours: Blue Jeans Vibez, Magenta
Shimmerz and Iris My Case Shimmerz. I painted directly from the pots/bottle and
just used a paintbrush. I also added splatters. Once dry I carefully peeled all
the layers from the cutting mat and started to assemble the flowers. I pinched
the petals to give them dimension and then stuck all the layers together with a
hot glue gun. The Stella Flower also comes with a rolled flower centre so I
rolled those up and stuck them in the middle. The flowers are absolutely
stunning.
I created the background for my
layout using a mixture of the other two colours from the September Color Kitz:
Buttercream Shimmerz and Ice Sage Inklingz. I applied them to my white
cardstock background using the packaging technique and the added splatters.
I built my layout using a few
small pieces of patterned paper that I cut into heart shapes. I layered the
Stella Flowers around my photo and added three of the little wooden clothespegs
to the side of my photo. I painted these with the Ice Sage Inklingz.
I added two of the gorgeous Dotz
and a few other embellishments. I added some acrylic hearts and some sequins.
Here's another look at the finished layout:
Thank you so much for joining me
today, I hope you have enjoyed this layout and don't forget that if you place
an order with the Shimmerz Store, then put my name in the comments to receive a
freebie. Enjoy the process video below too x
