Embellishing With The Shimmerz Paints June Color Kitz

Hi crafty friends! I am so excited to be creating today with the Shimmerz Paints June Color Kitz. I absolutely love the kit this month. To start my layout I first chose the patterned papers I wanted to use. For my background I picked the paper that looked like it had sand. Last October we celebrated my boyfriend Dale's birthday in Florida. I thought it would be fun to create a beach themed page to document the occasion. Even though my picture was taken at the hotel this will help us remember we were near the beach for his birthday.
Next I chose the paper that looked like water and the paper with the gold shells. I cut these using a Sunburst cutfile from Allison Davis. I used the same cut file and just resized one smaller than the other. I distressed the edges of the papers and adhered to the sand background. My photo I printed at home on the Epson Picture Mate 400. I printed in 4x4 in size. I popped it up using some foam dimension. While my cricut was still out I created a title using the print and cut feature that says Fifty In Florida.

To finish my layout I used several seashell stamps from my stash and painted them up using the beautiful paints that came in the kit. I absolutely love the way this layout turned out. I have a full process video linked below.

Happy Fall Y'all | Shimmerz Paints November Color Kitz | Brandy Vaughn

I am so excited to be back here to show y'all my first layout using November Color Kitz from Shimmerz Paints! This kit was so perfect for documenting these precious photos of my niece's family.

I jumped right in coloring the color sheet with all the paints and sprays from the color kit plus a few extra from my stash, including the way cool new Twinklingz!

Next, I created my own cut file in Cricut Design Space and backed it with a pretty piece of paper from the kit.

After I had it backed, I realized there wasn't enough contrast between the white cardstock of the cut file and the patterned paper I backed it with. So, I painted the cut file with the Twinklingz in Bark Up the Wrong Tree.

Then chose my element from the kit as well as some felt alphas from my stash to embellish all around my photos.

I love how fun this layout is! Everything came together so easily and I couldn't be happier. If you would like to see this one come together you can check out my process video below. Don't forget to check out the new November Color Kitz as well as the new Twinklingz in the Shimmerz Shop. Add my name to your order if you would like to be sent a free product!

Thankful for every little moment - Emilie Chamel

Hey friends! Emilie here today for another autumn-y layout as part of the Shimmerz Design Team. I am using the stunning November 2020 Color Kitz. which contains:

  • Misty Morning Inklingz
  • Don't Rain on My Parade Vibez
  • Precious Metal Shimmerz
  • *NEW EXCLUSIVE COLOR* Show Me the Honey Inkling
  • Going Peach Side Shimmerz
  • 1 exclusive "Thankful For Every Little Moment" cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 set of "Hello Fall" Dotz
  • 1 package of Pearl Embellishmentz

The colours are stunning and they are all now part of my firm favourites. So much so that I have finished the "Going peach side Shimmerz" pot!!!

As always, the Color Kitz matches perfectly with the trendiest collections of the moment. I love that I can use my kitz with papers I have just gotten my hand on!

The mists can easily be used for some packaging technique too by spraying it first onto a plastic surface and then picking it up was my packaging.

The cut file part of the kitz are a great way to create an easy layout. Painting it with my inklingsz gives it a unique look that "pops" off the page.

This layout was created using very easy entry level mixed media techniques for a minimum amount of risk of wasting material. Try it for yourself!

Make sure you grab this gorgeous, November kit from the Shimmerz shop before they are gone and add my name "Emilie" in the comment section at checkout for a free surprise gift! See you soon!

September Color Kitz with Emilie Chamel

Hey friends! Emilie here today for my first project as part of the Shimmerz Design Team. I am super fortunate to be using the new September 2020 Color Kitz.
The kit contains:

  • Blue Jeans Vibez
  • Magenta Shimmerz
  • Iris My Case Shimmerz
  • *NEW EXCLUSIVE COLOR* Sage Advice Inklingz
  • *COMEBACK COLOR* Butter Cream Shimmerz
  • 1 exclusive Stella Layered Flower Design cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
  • 1 set of "My Happy Place" Dotz
  • 1 package of Mini Rustic Crafting Clothes Pins

Find the process video on my YouTube channel.

I used the gorgeous Stella flower cut file on white cardstock. I sprayed them with the Blue Jeans Vibez and then added a bit more color with spots of Magenta, Buttercream and Iris My Case Shimmerz. The cut file has two floral bases, 5 petal pieces and one centre rolled flower. I decided to give them even more volume by splitting some of the layers and gluing petals together.

I used the packaging technique to add more colour to my background with a touch of Magenta Shimmerz and then added flickers of colour in Magenta and Iris My Case

I folded the top left corner of the striped paper and added one of the Dotz for added detail and embellishment

I also added a small brad in the middle of the Stella Flowers for extra detail but also to make sure it will stay together throughout the years.

The colors of this Kit are right up my street and I am completely in love with them!

Make sure you grab this gorgeous, fall kit from the Shimmerz shop before they are gone and add my name "Emilie" in the comment section for a free surprise gift! See you soon!

Boys Rule | Boy Themed Layout using Mists from November Color Kits

Hello friends!

Lorimar here sharing a new boy-themed layout! I just loved the rich, deep color mists found in both November Color kits; and loved them even more when I saw how well they paired up with Chance of Rain (Vibez). Rather than document a Christmas picture, I went with more of a colorful, boy-themed, winter-feel layout.

Here's how I made it: Using a 12x12 white cardstock, I added clear gesso using a palette knife to the whole sheet; set it aside to dry. In the meantime, I started pulling out boy-themed embellishments from my stash. Once the base was dry, I began adding color by spraying it on one side (enough to form a puddle) and then lifting and turning the base just so to form the drips. I did this twice with all four colors just to get a bolder look; I alternated the placement of the puddles and drips. They were: Rolling In The Hay, Rose Gold Red, Hot Fudge, and Chance of Rain. Finally finished the base by adding splatters.

Once my base was dry, I trimmed an inch off of each side to get a 10x10 inch square of cardstock; ruffled up the edge with a distressing tool and glued it in the center of my patterned paper. For my pictures, I matted them with from red cardstock and black and white gingham patterned paper. Added some craft foam behind them and tied some red and white twine along the bottom portion of the picture.

For finalizing my layout, I used a variety of boy themed stickers, chipboard stickers, puffy stickers, sequins, ephemera and wood veneers. Wrote my journaling in black ink in the left hand corner of the layout and splashed some Rain of Chance all around the finished layout to tie everything together.

So that's it! Pretty simple, and yet so stunning! Hope you're inspired to create something like and get your stories documented. Thanks for stopping by! Remember to type my name in the comments section of your next Shimmerz order to receive some free paint!
