Cool Kid | Color-Blocking Layout Using the April Color Kitz w/ process video

Hello everyone!

Lorimar here sharing a new layout for Shimmerz Paints! I mainly used the colors from the April Color Kitz  (Sold Out) and also added some other colors from my stash to create this color-blocking, tone-on-tone layout.

Let's get started:

Using a sheet of white textured cardstock, I made three distinct color swatches using Don't Citron Me, Heidi Ho Blue, and Chick-A-Dee. I then layered some more colors unto the swatches with Someone Like Blue, Limoncello, and Key Lime. Added some splatters with the same colors. Set Aside to dry. 

While it dried, I went into my stash and selected embellishments in greens, blue, and yellows. Afterwards, I added some modeling paste using the rain drop stencil from the April Color Kit. Once it was dried, I began to layer in the embellishments in their corresponding colors. Finished off the layout with some sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps and some splatters of Hi Ho Silver. Turning Leaves

Hello!

Lee Ann here, with another fall inspired card for you.  The leaves are changing, but in my neck of the woods there are no vibrant colors yet.  This is what my card reflects. It's kind of how I feel too, lol.  Not ready for summer to be over but looking forward to all things fall! 

I colored my Technique Junkies image with lots of Shimmerz goodness.  I used a combination of products to give me varying degrees of shimmer.

Coal Shimmerz

Bahama Mama Inklingz

Pining for You Creameez

Just Peachie Creameez
Witches Blue Creameez

Well Blue Me Down Coloringz

This card was so easy, just coloring, with no special technique to explain!  I used the coal Shimmerz in the very back of the foliage to create depth on my card.

All of the different products blend beautifully, so no worry about one being Creameez, which is a watercolor paint with minimal shine and another being Coloringz, highly pigments spray without any shimmer.

Floral Thanks

Hello All!  Lee Ann here;  I am excited to be sharing my first official Shimmerz Paints blog post!

This background came together super easy.  I selected two colors that complimented
each other and then I got messy!

I started white gesso and a credit card.  I loaded the credit card up at the narrow end and then very lightly, in an almost flat (along the paper) position, I pulled the credit card/gesso down the water color paper I was working with.  I did this several times.  This leaves streaks of gesso on your paper.  This will add lovely texture and color variation to the painted panel.
 Once dry, I brushed on some water across the top of the panel.  Then I applied  Key Lime Shimmerz paint and held the paper upright, allowing the Key Lime Shimmerz paint to drip.  I added more paint and water to get the drips until I got the desired effect.
Next, I covered the Key Lime Shimmerz paint across the top and spritzed on the Well Blue Me Down Coloringz just below it.  I uncovered the top of the card and spritzed on some water, allowing the Well Blue Me Down Coloringz to drip and mix in with the Key Lime Shimmeringz.  This created a wonderful blend of color and shine. When I had the desired effect, I dried the watercolor paper with the heat gun.

Once dry, I splattered on some Key Lime Shimmerz and Well Blue Me Down Coloringz.
My flowers, from Sweet n Sassy Stamps, were colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I die cut the
background panel with a scalloped rectangle frame and stamped the sentiment in Versafine black ink.  The scalloped frame portion was flipped for interest and popped up on dimensional tape.

Ice Cream Dream! Scrapbook Layout & Process Video | Amanda Baldwin

Here's a closer look for you.....

For this pretty page, I hand paint the Floral Frame 01 cut file from Cut To You, with Shimmerz Celery and Key Lime for the leaves, and then Shimmerz Lilac Blossom & Vibez Sweet Heart for the blooms. I just love how good this combination looks! Super pretty!

For my cardstock base, I apply a Peonies stencil with Dazzlerz: I Lilac You. Once dry, I fill around the stencil area with Creameez: Sky's The Limit & apply a few splatters of Vibez Princess too! 

It's a really soft and subtle result, and flatters the delicacy of my design! 

To embellish my darling photogrpah & page, I am using the beautiful Ice Cream Parlour digital collection from Tinker N Co Digital. I love that with digital collections you can print off as many die cuts and papers as you need! 

You'll also spy some of the Freezin' For A Reason sequins from our friends at Spiegel Mom Scraps. Yay! Everything coordinates so beautifully!

Forward Together | Niki Rowland

Hey there! It's Niki here today and I have a school layout to share today. I know school photos and layouts are usually more common in September, but we have our school photos taken in November and I didn't receive them until January! I don't always like school photos, mainly because I don't like school uniform all that much, so my policy is that they have to be scrapped immediately, otherwise they never get done.

So I started off by working out approximately where the photos were going to go. I then created a water colour effect background using the packaging technique. I used three colours:

Key Lime Shimmerz,

Pool Me Close Shimmerz, 

and Mustard Seed Vibez.

To apply the paint to put a small amount onto a piece of packaging. I then add water if necessary. I tend to find that the Shimmerz Paints need a bit of water added to make them more fluid. The Vibez sprays don't usually need any water added. I apply one colour at a time and if time is on my side, I let each colour dry before applying the next colour.

After adding the large areas of paint, I then added lots of splatters. Once dry I then added my photo and embellishments. I really love the lime green colour in this layout with the birght yellow, it gives a slightly alternative take on the usual primary colours!  

I added paper strips at the top and the bottom of the layout. I got my photo and embellishments all stuck in place, and then realised I have covered up most of the background! This seems to happen to me quite a lot. So I added in lots of extra splatters around the edges of my photo and embellishments. I love the way the splatters dry...you can really see the beautiful shimmer in these paints.
