Hello Sunshine 12x12 Scrapbooking Layout

Hey all!  Nicole here with my layout using the April Color Kitz!  I'm making this page to document my sweet little kitty laying on my lap...I just love that!

The first thing that I did for this layout was pick the paper I wanted to use.  I went with this green paper with white flowers on it and the reverse side had this beautiful orange.  I placed that papers where I wanted on some 12x12 watercolor paper to see where to add my mixed media.  I used the Marigold and Lawn and Order Shimmerz pots to make the painted background.

When my paint was dry, I added my papers down as well as my picture.  I then started embellishing.  I remembered that there was a paper with black and white flowers so I decided to fussy cut some of the flowers for my embellishment clusters.

I then added one of the dotz and some of the die cut pieces to my layout, including my title, Hello Sunshine!  I finished off the layout by adding some sequins from my stash.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  I hope it gives you an idea of how to use your kit and paints.  I also have a process video for this that you can watch here: Hello Sunshine Process Video

Fly With Me Scrapbooking Layout

Hey all! Nicole here with another layout using the February Color Kitz to document a pic of me and my hubby on our way to Japan.  I had such a fun time creating this layout for such a special pic :)

I started by making my background.  I wanted to use the paints in the kit to make what looks like a color study in the background.  I added the paints with varying amounts of water to achieve this look.  I then cut down my watercolor paper and added a border with patterned paper.

I added my photo with a patterned paper mat to my page.  I then cut out my title using one of the patterned papers and some metal dies from my stash.

I then added 3 clusters to my page with die cuts.  I also added brown buttons and sequins from my stash.

Thanks for popping on to read about my layout.  I hope it gives you some crafty ideas on how to use your kitz!

I *heart* You Scrapbooking Layout

Hey all!  Today I'm using the new February Color Kitz to make this fun mixed media scrapbooking layout documenting me and my hubby at the tea garden in San Antonio!

The first thing that I did for this layout was to use 3 different paints from the kit to make the background.  I basically just added the colors in 3 separate blobs around the page.  I then added some ink stenciling with the Love stencil that came with the kit.

I then did my paper piecing.  I cut 3 strips of patterned paper to make the photo mat and the little banners on the side of my layout.

I then added my embellishments.  I added some die cuts as well as fussy cut the green flowers to add those around the page.  I also added some little bits from my stash as well.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  I hope it gives you some ideas on how to use you kitz :)

Winter Memories Scrapbooking Layout

Hey all, Nicole here with my second scrapbooking layout using the January Color Kitz!  I am documenting a sweet winter moment in the Rose Garden at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens last month!

I started with adding the Loose Lips Pink Ships Inklingz onto my watercolor paper for the background.  I added it in a kind of L shape to the upper right of the layout.

Next I made some winter flowers using a die and patterned paper from the kit.  I added the flowers and lots of die cuts to the L shape. I matted my photo on patterned paper and added 2 strips to the top and bottom of the page.

I finished the page by making a little cluster down in the lower left of the page with the title.  I added some sequins from my stash and my journaling.

Thanks for popping on to read all about my layout!  I hope it gets you in a crafty mood!  You can still grab the January Color Kitz over at the shop and use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a free gift with your order!  I also have a process video for this layout here: Winter Memories Scrapbooking Process Video

Just Chilling Using the January Color Kitz

Hey all! Nicole here with my first layout using the January Color Kitz!  These kits are full of soft winter colors and just perfect for all your seasonal memories! Today I'm documenting me and my hubby at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.

The first thing that I did was create the background!  I used all the paints in the kit to make a blob of beautiful on a 12x12 watercolor paper.  I then added some splatters and set aside to dry.

Next I did some paper piecing.  I have a little wedge that I use for a template and cut 5 of the patterned papers to make this circular element to the left of my photo.  I distressed all the papers and my photo and then attached to the background!

Lastly I added die cuts and one of the dotz from the kit, making sure to add the title "Just Chillin'".  I also added some journaling and some little iridescent bubbles to the page to finish it off!

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout!  I hope I gave you some good tips on how to use your Shimmerz product.  If you decided to grab this kit or anything else from the Shimmerz shop, please make sure to use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a free gift with your order.

Thankful Scrapbooking Layout using the November Color Kitz

Hey all, Nicole here using the gorgeous November Color Kitz to make this fun layout documenting a beautiful fall sunset!

I started by making these cool die cut fringe pumpkins using paper from the kit and fussy cutting the THANKFUL banner.  I then used the rest of the patterned paper from the THANKFUL banner page, as well as the golden star paper to make my background.

I added my fringe pumpkins, picture and the THANKFUL banner to my background and then started to embellish.  I used the little medallion stickers from the kit and then die cuts to make three clusters on my page.

I finished my page with some journaling and splatters from the two vibes that come with the kit.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  You can still grab the November Color Kitz and use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a free gift with your order.  You can also watch my process for this video here: Thankful Scrapbooking Layout Process

Fall Scrapbooking Layout Using the November Color Kitz

Hey all, Nicole here with my first layout using the November Color Kitz.  I made a very fall inspired layout documenting me and my friend out for dinner.

The first thing that I did for this layout was to make the banner pieces.  I cut the strips of paper to 2 1/2 inches wide.  I then used a banner punch to make the pieces.  I distressed all the pieces then used foam dots to adhere to my watercolor paper.  I used all 5 paints that come with the kit to add color above and below the banner pieces.

I then embellished with goodies from the kit in two clusters on the banner.  I also added sequins and thread to my clusters.

I just loved the way this layout turned out!  The November Color Kitz were absolutely perfect for this!  I hope you got some inspiration from this layout on how to use your Shimmerz kitz.  You can still find this kit available in the shop and don't forget to use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a free gift with your order.

Happy Halloween Scrapbooking Layout Using the October Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all, Nicole here with a spooky fun scrapbooking layout using the October Color Kitz Bundle.  I am documenting me and my girls making some haunted gingerbread houses last year for Halloween.

The first thing that I did for this layout was to make these mixed media flowers.  I covered a watercolor paper with the orange and pink colors from the kit and then sent it through my cricut to cut these flowers.

Next I paper pieced my pattern paper and my photos on the page.  I then added the flowers to the upper right and lower left corners of my page.  I used black sequins from my stash to add the middle of the flowers.

I added embellishments from the kit to my clusters as well as a haunted house and a title piece.  I finished with my journaling and some Black Hole splatters.

Thanks for popping in to read about this layout.  I hope it gives you some ideas on how to use your kit!  You can find the kit here and don't forget to use my name in the shopping cart notes to get yourself a free gift with your order:

Waiting For Dad Scrapbook Layout

Hey all! Nicole here with another fun layout using the Color Kitz Bundle.  I am documenting my black lab peeking out the curtains waiting for her dad to come home.  She is sooooo cute!

To start this layout I used the Mustard Seed Vibez to make a swatch card (used as a layering piece) and the background of this layout.  I used Foundations paper to make both the card and the background.

I layered up the swatch card, the white and orange giant grid patterned paper, the blue floral paper, and my photo to make a statement for the middle of my layout.  I distressed all of them and popped them up on foam tape.

Next I fussy cut out the black and white flowers and created little groups of them cascading down my layout.  I then used ephemera and stickers from the kit to add to those little clusters.

I added a title which I die cut from some black card stock.  To finish off this layout I added some black sequins and my journaling.

Thanks for popping in and reading about my layout.  I hope it gives you some ideas of how to use the kit.  You can still grab the kit from the website, just remember to use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a little freebie with your purchase.

Until next time, Nicole

Making Memories | Melissa Minor | January 2025 Color Kitz

Hello friends! Melissa Minor here on the blog today. I'm sharing a layout I made using the beautiful January 2025 Color Kitz. I first started with a piece of mixed media white cardstock cut to 11x11. I then outlined with a pencil where I wanted to paint. I applied Pink About It Inklingz all around the page. I backed my photos with the patterned paper from the kit. I matted the mixed media cardstock to a sheet of green cardstock from my stash. I really love all the paint colors in the kit this month!

Beach Glass-Vibez

The Holly & The Ivy-Inklingz

Buddy's Favorite Color-Shimmerz

Golden Wheat-Shimmerz

*Pink About It-Inklingz

Snow Joke-Twinklingz (Available in the bonus bundle)

Next I came in with a holly leaf stencil and Distress Oxide ink in the color Iced Spruce. I then added some pops of color for berries around the leaves. The puffy stickers in the kit are amazing and we get 2 sheets of them. I used every leaf sticker and added to the layout.
I used a few of the adorable ephemera pieces to make embellishment clusters. The photos I'm documenting are of my family at my boyfriend's work Christmas party. The girls made gingerbread houses and did some arts & crafts. The best part of the party was the magician coming to visit our table. The girls were throughly impressed with his tricks!

I have a full process video linked below. Be sure to add my name to your Shimmerz Paints orders to receive a free gift!

Happy crafting,

Melissa Minor

There's Snowbody Like You | Shimmerz January Color Kit | Brandy Vaughn

Happy New Year, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. It has been crazy at my house but I had to carve out some time to work with this awesome January Color Kit from Shimmerz Paints as soon as possible.

I want to begin by letting you all know that the yellow paper you see is from my stash. There is a little bit of yellow in the photo and I wanted to include that color more prominently onto my layout. When I first reached for my supplies I went for white cardstock, as usual. But I was curious how the colors in the kit would work out on black cardstock instead. My gut told me it would be fabulous and I was right! Although the shimmery goodness in the colors makes it more difficult to see here, the colors are vibrant and gorgeous in real life.

I began by simply splattering each of the colors onto the cardstock. They include Vibes-Beach Glass, Inklingz-The Holly & The Ivy, Inklingz-Pink About It, Shimmerz-Golden Wheat, and Shimmerz-Buddy's Favorite Color.

Next, I chose 3 of the pattern papers and die-cut 3 circles out of each paper. I strategically placed them "randomly" around the page making sure to leave enough room for the photo and embellishments in the bottom right.

I then placed some craft foam behind my photo and glued it down. Once I chose the ephemera pieces I wanted to use I placed some around the layout and clustered others under the photo.

Finally, I grabbed the puffy stickers from the kit and added some of them to the layout as well. I also used a gel pen to add a small amount of journaling to the page. This layout came together in record time for me. I had a clear vision in the beginning and everything worked out just as I had planned. I couldn't be happier.

If you would like to see this one come together you can check out my video below. Don't forget to add my name to your Shimmerz order for a FREE product.
Happy New Year!
xoxo

Gather | Shimmerz Paints September Color Kitz | Brandy Vaughn

Hello, friends! I'm so excited to finally work with the new September Color Kitz!

This time I created a very simple layout that is minimal but still has a lot of interesting things to see.

I began by painting the flowers on the coloring sheet that comes in the kit. I used Vibes "Mango Tango" and Creameez "Rednecking".

I set the flowers to the side to dry and added some clear heat-embossed flowers randomly in the area around where I wanted my photo. Then I used Coloringz "In Deep" and the packaging technique to add color to the white cardstock. I also added some splatters with the nozzle and paintbrush to get different sizes.

Next, I die cut my title from one of the patterned papers and some leaves from whit cardstock. I chose to leave the leaves white because I only wanted a few colors on my page.

Finally, I clustered all of my chosen elements around my photo and framed the white cardstock with another piece of patterned paper.

I love how this layout turned out. There are so many different shapes and textures that add a lot of interest to this minimal layout. If you would like to see this layout come together you can check out the video below. Be sure to head over to the Shimmerz Shop to see more details about the beautiful September Color Kitz! Don't forget to add my name to your order for a FREE product!
