Happy Story | Sarah Millerhouse | August 2023 Color Kitz

I am excited to share this layout featuring the August Color Kitz, combined with the new Color Splash Glossy Acrylic Sprays.

On the background, I used two colors from the August Color Kitz - Vibez - Before Dawn and Shimmerz - Silver Tongue Devil. I love how the colors look with the vellum camera page from the new Main Character Energy collection by Shimelle.

Once those colors dried, I added on splatters of the new Color Splash Sprays in six colors - Pinking of You, Sunset Strip, Squeeze the Day, Once Upon a Lime, Sea Breeze, Rockin' Robin.

I also created an accent layer using the same colors. I blended and layered the colors to create the large square in the middle of the layout. I love how these sprays dry with a beautifiul, bright, glossy finish!

I finished the rest of the layout using ephemera and embellishments from the Main Character Energy collection. I loved using the bright happy colors to capture the memory of my sweet girl celebrating her 4th birthday with two girls she loves!

I hope you have a beautiful day and get to make something creative today!

Adventures | Sarah Millerhouse | June Color Kitz

Hello! I am excited to share this layout featuring the BEAUTIFUL June Color Kitz! The color combinations in this month's kit are absolute perfection!

I started this layout by adding color to the background. I used Foundations mixed media cardstock as the base of my layout. I added the Vibez - Rip Van Periwinkle at the top of the layout. I sprayed it first, and then I spread it around with a paint brush. Around the top and side edges, I added the Shimmerz - Pool Me Close. Towards the bottom of the layout I added on the Shimmerz - Iris My Case. Both of the Shimmerz are so gorgeous and full of sparkle. As these colors were drying, I splattered in the new Spritz - Pipe Cream for some added dimension and variation in color.

On top of the background color, I got busy adding all of the beautiful things from the June Paper Color Kit! I started with the turquoise paper at the top. I cut six inch strips in various widths. I snipped the top corners of each strip to look like a slat of wood and distressed the edges. I glued these down at various heights to look like a wood wall. I then fussy cut many of the embellishments from the ephemera sheets. I added the wood fence, and I used tons of the fussy cut flowers and vegetation to cascade down the fence and around the photos.

In the centers of each flower and around the clusters I added small crystals and half pearls from my stash to adorn the flowers and add sparkle!

I also added Pops of Color in coordinating colors to add dimension and visual interest. I added two perspextives from Bramble for the title and globe to carry the theme of my photos through! As a finishing touch, I splattered on the new Color Splash - Gold Digger to add one last bit of shimmer, shine, and dimension!

I have a full process video up on the Shimmerz Paints YouTube channel! I hope you will check it out and have some time to create with these beautiful products! Happy Days | Sarah Millerhouse | Shimmerz Paints - Color Splash

Hello, Shimmerz Paints Friends! I am SO excited to be sharing my first layout using the brand new Color Splash Glossy Acrylic Sprays! They are simply amazing, and they might very well be my new favorite mixed media product on the planet!

These sprays are fabulous in so many ways! I first noticed how beautifully they coat the surface you spray. They have a beautiful opaque quality, and a little goes a long way!

The next thing I noticed is that when sprayed together and swirled around with a brush, the colors stay true to themselves, and I didn't get any muddy colors. The photo above depicts how amazing they are when swirled around and mixed together.

If you know me or my style, you know that I love a good splatter on a page! For me, this is where the true magic happened with this medium. I had a whole bunch of color on my page, and it was still wet and swirling around. As I splattered on other colors, they sat where they landed, held their shape and tone, and added texture to each spot. Coming from a person who loves to play with every medium available to figure out what works, I am telling you that this is a rare quality!

The Color Splash sprays also have a magical finish! The glossy effect is stellar! With some mediums, as they dry, you get a fading of vibrancy and the colors tend to continue to mix until set. That didn't happened here! The medium sits on top of the paper and coats it with color! I LOVE these sprays!!!

Magical Fun | Shimmerz Paints April Color Kitz | Sarah Millerhouse

Hello! I am excited to share my layout featuring the April 2023 Color Kitz and the Paper Color Kitz, combined with the Blooming Wild Collection! The colors in the April Kitz are so beautiful, and they worked perfectly for sunshine and water!

I have a link to the full process video at the end of this post!

I started this layout by creating the water at the bottom. I used texture paste and a Peartree Cutfiles stencil to add the textured dots. Once that dried, I sprayed on the Vibez - Deep Blue Sea. It is rich and vibrant, and it's my absolute favorite blue created by Shimmerz Paints! I then layered on the Inklingz - Me & Blue. It is shiny and shimmery, and it added the sparkle I was looking for. I also added the Inklingz - Ice Sage to the water, and these two Inklingz helped me achieve the shine I wanted to capture, mimicking sunlight on the water.

Once the blue section was dry, I added on another stencil from Peartree Cutfiles to create the sun rays. I put down a little Distress Oxide with a blending brush, and then I sprayed the Vibez - Here Comes the Sun on top of that. This gave me that bold golden yellow! While it was still wet, I splattered on Shimmerz - Limoncello from my stash. This added those lighter yellow sparkles peeking out of the sun rays.

Across the center, I tore strips of paper from the April Paper Color Kitz and the Blooming Wild collection in blues and yellows. This gave me the central foundation for my photo placement.
I added my sweet photo from our Jamaica trip and layered it up with patterned paper, chipboard frames, tags, and tabbed cards to create a focal point. I also added the title and embellishments, all from the Blooming Wild collection.

At the top of the layout, I added handstitching in between the rays of sunshine and a few more shiny embellishments from Buttons Galore. I loved creating this layout using all of the beautiful Shimmerz Paints goodness! Happy Days | April 2023 Color Kitz | Sarah Millerhouse

Hello! I am so excited to share this new layout featuring the April 2023 Color Kitz and the April Paper Collection! I love how beautifully the colors and patterned papers and embellishments coordinate! I have a link to the full process video below!

I started this layout by making the giant egg! I cut an oval on scratch paper, and then I cut 1.5 inch strips from the patterned papers in the Paper Collection. I used my herb shears (in place of fringe scissors...my herb shears work so much better!) to create the fringe along the edge. Once I layered up the paper, I added some pink ribbon from my stash to match the butterflies from the embellishment sheet.

Once the egg was complete, I traced around it and moved it out of the way. I added the beautiful mediums from the April Color Kitz around the edge. I started with the Vibez - Deep Blue Sea and added it with a brush. I then layered on the Inklingz - Me & Blue. While all of that was still wet, I added on the Inklingz - Ice Sage. By adding the mediums while they were still wet, I got great movement and blending! I love how it looks!

On the bottom right side of the layout, I used the Inklingz - Loose Lips, Pink Ships from the March Color Kitz to tie in the pink on the layout.

After adding my sweet Easter photos, I fussy cut out all of the beautiful embellishments from the Paper Collection. I absolutely adore the bunny and ducklings! The beautiful flowers were perfect for layering.

I added detailing in the middles of the flowers using Pops of Color and lots of shiny bits. I love how layering the elements brought the theme of the layout to life! I added the title pieces from my stash and adore the final layout capturing a beautiful Easter memory!

Art journal page Love yourself | Rocío López

Hi!!

Rocío here with a new project to inspire you to use your paints. In this ocasion I've created an art journal page. I think that art journal gives you a freedom to create that other projects don't and I get so much fun when I am creating one page.

In the background I added some scraps of decorated paper to get some texture. Then I applied a coat of gesso and draw my whimsical face.

One I had my girl, I started to play with my Shimmerz's paints to add color to the background and to the girl. I used Vibez Deep Blue Sea, Vibez Grape Escape, Shimmerz Peacock's Plume, Inklingz Green Goddess and Inkling Plum Crazy for the background.

For the girl I used: Inkling Lover's Lips, Shimmerz Magenta, Inklingz Green Goddess and Dazzlerz Tutti Frutti.

When I got the background and the girl colored, I used a few stencils with Dazzlerz Tutti Frutti, Dazzlerz Sea U in the Mornin', Dazzlerz Grapetastic and modeling paste to get more texture.

Of course, I had to use my new Stampz! I used the set Fresh Start in some places around the border with black permanent ink (Archival).

Now I leave you with some close ups of the details and the process video.

Don't forget to write Rocío in the comments of your order to get a freebie

Another vintage photo with Karine

My dear crafty souls,

I hope this post finds you well. I'm here on the blog today to share my most recent layout. Recently, I found some old pictures of my dad and his family. Don't you think he is handsome? :)

Cherish

I went for a soft color combo on this one. I thought it matched the picture well.

On my background, I used The Cream Team Paste-Eez with a grid stencil.

I used Tuscan Sun, Bamboo Leaf and Caribbean Sunset Spritz and Keep Palm Coloringz, making drops with each color and drying before adding another one.

I used chipboards, flowers and die cuts to embellish.

Sweet, a girly layout by Karine

Hi crafty friends,

It's Karine here and I'm on the blog today to share with you my second layout for this month. I went with a girly layout this time. Here it is.

Sweet

As usual, I started my layout by covering my paper with clear gesso. After that, I used Salt of the Earth Paste-Eez through a stencil to add texture to my background.

To match the colors on the paper I chose, I selected Moody Mauve Coloringz and Tuscan Sun Spritz to create some drops here and there.

It was pretty, but I wanted to add a bit of softness to the background, so I sprayed some Caribbean Sunset Spritz here and there, to add a bit of soft pink color.

I used the Moody Mauve Coloringz to color some lace that I glued here and there in my clusters. It's so easy with the sprays!
