Color Kitz May Collection | Brianna Lepper

Hey y'all!  Brianna Lepper here with my layout this month using the May Color Kitz!  The kit this month has the prettiest colors!  Here's what comes in each kit!

A Bright Fuchsia Coloringz: A new exclusive color to this kit. This color is a vibrant pink color spray with red undertones and no shimmer.
Mustard Seed Vibez
Angels Kiss Inklingz
Paradise Punch Creameez
Moulin Rouge Shimmerz
1 exclusive Blooming Butterfly cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
1 set of Silver embellishing floss
1 set of "Sweet Thing" Dotz

1 set of Watercolor Butterfly Ephemera stickers

I loved working with this kit and loved all of the pinks with the pop of yellow.  Here's my layout, I hope you like it!

To start, I cut the Blooming Butterfly cut file out twice on some textured white cardstock.  I sized one of them large and the other one small.  I wanted to have the large butterfly be a main focus with the smaller one as an accent piece.  When they were finished cutting, I applied some white gesso onto each one.  Then I started painting on the colors from the kit.

Starting with the Bright Fuchsia Coloringz, I sprayed it directly onto the large butterfly and then went in with the lighter colors in the kit.  The Paradise Punch Creameez is so beautiful!!  The Angel's Kiss Inklingz has so much shimmer, it's stunning!

Since I applied gesso on both butterflies, the paints were able to blend nicely together instead of being soaked up into the paper.  I then took the Mustard Seed Vibez and sprayed it onto the smaller butterfly and blended some of the pinks out towards the bottom.  While the butterflies were drying, I took all of the colors from the kit and splattered them around the page.

I then adhered the butterflies to my page, being careful not to add glue to the entire pieces.  I wanted to make sure parts of them would pop up and give my page some dimension.  The Sweet Thing Dotz are so cute!  I scattered them around my page and made sure to tangle up some of the silver embroidery floss from the kit underneath each one.

Next, I took a few of the butterfly ephemera stickers in matching colors and added those around my page as well.

I just love all of the texture and dimension on this page!  I love how intricate the cut file is and when adding color to it, it just makes it pop so much more.  I added some patterned papers underneath my photos and embellished with a few stickers and puffy stickers here and there.

Check out my process video below for a more step by step process.  Also, don't forget to add my name in the comments/notes section of your order and you'll receive a free gift!  See you next month when I create a new layout using the June Color Kitz!

Here's what I've created with these beautiful paints,

"Here & Now"

Oh.my.heart!
For the love of color!!!
The May Collection Color Kitz is swoon worthy to say the least!

Let's take a closer look at my scrapbook layout.....

Sigh! Such bright and pretty details!

***You can watch how I created this stunning page in my process video at the end of this post***

To begin with, I sprayed the large geo heart with the beautiful new A Bright Fuchsia Coloringz.
Once dry, I hand stitched the outline of it using the silver embroidery thread (which is also included in the Color Kit). On some watercolor paper, I traced around the geo heart with a pencil, and then painted up this heart with the super shiny Angels Kiss Inklingz, followed by splatters of Paradise Punch Creameez, Moulin Rouge Shimmerz & Vibez Mustard Seed. I cut this painty heart out and then adhered it to the back of the silver stitched, fuchsia, geo heart. Simple, but so effective!

Before foam mounting the pretty painted geo heart to my cardstock base, I traced around the heart with a pencil. Using the packaging technique with the vibrant Vibez Mustard Seed, I created that stunning base to layer the geo heart onto. For added interest, I also applied lots of splatters and droplets in Paradise Punch Creameez, Moulin Rouge Shimmerz and A Bright Fuchsia Coloringz.

With my geo heart in place, I then embellished with lots of fussy cut blooms and embellishments from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio: Happiness collection.

The exclusive butterfly stickers and You Make My Heart Soar Dotz were the perfect adoornments to add that finishing touch to my page!

So super beautiful!

Do What you Love with Process Video | Spring Forward Challenge | Niki Rowland

Hey everyone, this is Niki with you today with a new layout to share for the Shimmerz Spring Forward Challenge.
The challenge is to make a layout with NO PATTERNED PAPER!! I actually quite like this challenge as even though I have been trying to use more patterned paper recently, using none (or very little) is actually well within my comfort zone!

There is a process video for this layout that can be viewed at the end of the blog post.

For my layout, I decided to go with a rainbow theme. I have used six different Shimmerz Paints:

I have applied them to the background using the packaging technique and also a paintbrush. I also added splatters to each colour.

After completing my mixed media background, I added my photos and then began embellishing. I added the large rainbow together with a rainbow Dotz. I fussy cut some clouds and used those as embellishments all over the background too.

I finished with stickers, gold thread and some teeny tiny rainbows that I fussy cut from a journaling card and added to the clouds. Here's another look at the finished layout:

I hope you have enjoyed my layout today. There is a process video too which can be viewed below.

I hope you play along with the Spring Forward Challenge - I look forward to seeing what you create! You can simply share your creation on the Shimmerz Sharez Facebook Group or anywhere on social media using the hashtag #shimmerzspringchallenge.
Don't forget that if you place an order via the Shimmerz Store, put my name into the comments to receive a little freebie.
