Monochromatic Mixed Media Layout with Daisie

Hi everyone!  Do you ever have a photo or set of photos that just inspire you?  I felt that way with these photos of my oldest daughter.  I went on the Shimmerz shop and purchased 5 different shades of yellow and one orange tone just to match!  When I recieved my package I painted big stripes on a piece of cardstock to see how they all looked together.  They were bright and shimmery, just what I needed!

Here is a list of products I used:

I decided I didn't want to waste my swatch sheet so I cut the strips apart and cut them into squares of varying sizes. I thought they would make the perfect embellishment for my layout.  I grouped my set of 4 3x4 photos in the center of the layout.  Then I started adding all of my squares around, mixing up the colors and creating dimension by applying glue to one side of the square so the other side would pop up a little.  I also put a few of the squares on foam adhesive for an added boost.

To finish, I added a few clear stickers from Maggie Holmes Sweet Story collection.  I pulled out a few sets of Dotz and found the perfect ones to go with the photos.  This was a super simple layout and one that can easily be recreated using any color.

Don't forget to add my name (Daisie) to the comments on your next purchase for a fun mini freebie.  Please check out my video to see the complete process!

I  hope you enjoy!  Go try this easy layout design!  I can't wait to see what you make!

Flowers Makes the Day Special Card with Isha Gupta

Hello Shimmerz friendz, I am Isha Gupta and I am so excited and honored to be joining the Shimmerz design team. I love colors, texture and shimmerz is all about it :)
This month Samantha challenged the team to pick one color and create a project around it. I picked the Creameez: Berry Hot and created a monochromatic card using the Petite Poppies stamp set. Love the soft and subtle satin shine of this color.

I die-cut a watercolor panel and stamped the images using Versafine onyx black ink. I then embossed them using clear embossing powder.
I colored the images using the Creameez: Berry Hot and worked in layers to give some deapth. I also added a bit of Shimmerz: Coal for the centers of the flowers. Once this was dry, I created a background ombre wash keeping the color concentration on the top part to balance the colors on the panel. Then I added some flicks of the same color and let this panel dry and then stamped the sentiment from the Stampz: Floral Grace stamp set.
To finish I added some gold splatter using Inklinkz: Miner Miner 49er
Here you can see the soft and subtle silky shine.

Here are the products I used:

Thank you for stopping by!! Hope you like my creation and got inspired to create monochromatic CAS cards. If you decide to add some shimmery goodness in your stash, please don't forget to put my name "Isha Gupta" in the comments and get a free surprise freebie :)

Make Monochromatic Magic! | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Friends!

Amanda here, & I am so excited to be sharing my first official
Education Team project with Shimmerz Paints
I just love creating with all the gorgeous Shimmerz colorz and products!
If you're not familiar with my style,
you can see a ton of my Shimmerz Paints Social Team projects on my instagram HERE.

Today I wanted to share a lil monochromatic magic with you!
Here's my layout,

"Inspirational"

Sigh! Isn't this dreamy & divine?!!

I was so inspired by that ombre pink pattern paper that I backed my cut file rose with, that I just had to recreate a similar look on my layout! The scrapbook collection that I am using today is the Pink Paislee: Paige Evans: Pick Me Up line, & the cut file called Flower Half is also designed by Paige Evans.

I start with our gorgeous Vibez in
Razzeldazzel Berry
Sweet Heart
& Pop Art Pink
and apply them using the packaging technique.

I then highlight the rose shape by applying coordinating Shimmerz over each color section.
I use a soft brush, and paint the rose petal design using
Going Peach Side over the Pop Art Pink
 Pink-O-De-Mayo over Sweet Heart
& Magenta over the Razzeldazzel Berry.

Very pretty!
I also add droplets and flicks of the Shimmerz around the rose edge, as well as outline the area in which my photo is positioned.

I make a last minute decision to hand color that white cardstock cut file with those pretty Shimmerz colors. From the center of the rose, I apply Going Peach Side, followed by Pink-O-De-Mayo & last but not least, that gorgeous Magenta!

Using similar colors with varying tones and creating a monochromatic effect is SO pretty!!!
I hope I have inspired you to try this with your like colored Shimmerz Paints!

You can check out all the 'how-to' details & Monochromatic Magic in my process video HERE.

Here are a few very pretty close ups for you.....
