My Sweet Boy Using the July Color Kitz

Hey all!  Nicole here with another layout using the July Color Kitz!  Today I'm documenting my sweet dog, Rocky.  This was our last day with Rocky and it brings up such emotion, so I thought it would be nice to document with some bright cheerful colors.

The first thing I did for this layout was to make the background.  I used all the shimmerz and sprays to make this from the kit.

Next I paper pieced from the papers that came with the kit, trying to match the colors with the paints.

Finally I used elements from the kits to embellish!  I also added some buttons and sequins from my stash.  I added my title using a stamp and finished with journaling.

Thanks so much for stopping in to read about my layout!  You can grab the July Color Kitz in the shop and don't forget to use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to grab a free gift with your order!  I also have a process for this page here: Shimmerz Process Video

Summer Memories Using the July Color Kitz

Hey all, Nicole here with my first layout using the beautiful July Color Kitz!  I'm documenting this silly photo of my youngest while we were traveling back in May!

The first thing I did for this layout was add some texture paste through a heart stencil on a piece of Foundations Mixed Media Paper for my background.  I then used all the colors that come in the kit to add lines of paint going down the middle, making sure to add some splatters as well.

I then grabbed the black and white floral paper that comes with the kit and colored 3 flowers with all the colors and painted some leaves with the Evergreen Shimmerz as well.

Next I added some torn patterned paper to my layout along with my photo that was matted with some different paper from the kit.  I added all my flowers and leaves and then I added embellishments from the kit as well as my title.  Lastly I added some splatters of Black Hole to the layout to add that finishing touch.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  You can grab the kit and the Black Hole paint in the Shimmerz shop and use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a free gift.  You can also watch my process video for this layout here: Summer Memories Mixed Media Scrapbooking Layout

July 2022 Color Kitz | Brianna Lepper

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing a new layout using the super gorgeous July 2022 Color Kitz!  Here's my layout and make sure to check out my process video at the end of this post:

To start, I took the stencil from the kit and applied some glimmer paste from my stash through it.  For my base, I used a thick piece of white cardstock that I had prepped with gesso first.  Once the paste was finished drying, I painted the Frosty Buns Inklingz around the page and added some paint splatters using Pip Pip Cherry O Shimmerz and Razzdazzle Berry Vibez.

Next, I cut the cut file out on textured white cardstock.  This months cut file has eight different butterfly layers and I chose to only use three of them.  I chose the solid (bottom layer) and the top two (most intricate layers) to layer on top of the solid ones.  While they were still on my cutting mat, I sprayed them both using all of the colors in the kit, except for Frosty Buns.  I wanted the pinks, oranges and yellows to really pop off of the page.

Once they were finished drying, I layered them up and ran them through my sewing machine.  I adhered them down to my now dry background and fluffed up their wings a bit.

I got to work on the rest of my layout by matting my photo and building embellishment clusters.  I pulled out the Dotz from the kit and used them as foundation pieces for each cluster.  I always add tangled thread under each one to give them more color and interest.

Here's another embellishment cluster:

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that I've inspired you in some way.  Don't forget to add my name to the notes/comments section of all of your Shimmerz orders to receive a free gift!  See you next time friends!

Here Comes the Sun | July Color Kitz with Process Video | Niki Rowland

Hey everyone, this is Niki @nikiclairecreates here with a new layout and process video using the July 2021 Color Kitz. The July Color Kitz consists of five colours of awesome Shimmerz Paints, an exclusive Here Comes the Sun cut file, a set of three Dotz and a pack of paper flower Embellishmentz.  The paint colours are: Frogget Me Not Vibez, Mandarin Mai Tai Coloringz, Caribbean Sunset Spritz, Green Olive Shimmerz and There She Rose Again Shimmerz. These colours are so perfect for Summer.

I loved the 60s hippie vibe of the Here Comes the Sun Cut file. I cut it multiple times. First I cut the letters from an orange cardstock, then I cut two backing pieces: one in white and one in a coral pink coloured cardstock. I painted the white one with the There She Rose Again Shimmerz paint and then layered the three pieces together. The coral backing I just used as a narrow shadow and the orange words I popped up on foam pads. What an awesome title!

I created the background using a sheet of white for the base. I cut a starburst design from yellow paper. I then cut smaller triangles out of a sheet of white Marshmallow cardstock. I then set about painting these to achieve a ombre sunset effect. I spritzed the middle section of each with Caribbean Sunset Spritz, then spritzed the outside edges with Mandarin Mai Tai and painted the point with There She Rose Again. I blended the colours with additional water where needed but they blended pretty well! I blasted them with my heat tool to dry them off and the effect was really stunning! It worked so well! I then layered these onto my yellow triangles.

I then cut smaller pink star print triangles to go on as another layer. I distressed the edges of all layers and stitched through them centrally with my sewing machine. I then stuck them all to the background and the result is a triple layered starburst – loads of hippie vibes there and it reminds me of tie-dying!

I positioned my cut file title in the middle of the starburst. I added my photos and then began to add a few embellishments. I used a few pieces of floral ephemera, a tag and some other ephemera pieces. Really there is SO much going on this layout that I needed to keep the embellishments to a minimum. I added two of the three Dotz: the green one with a flamingo, ad the yellow one that says ‘summer vibes’.

I painted the paper flowers using the two green paints from the Color Kitz. I began by spraying three of the with Frogget Me Not Vibez. The other three are painted with Green Olive Shimmerz. I also added some Green Olive Shimmerz details to the Frogget Me Not flowers too. The paper flowers took the paint so well. I added these either side of my photos. I also added a paper cocktail umbrella which I also painted with Green Olive so that it matched my layout!

I finished off with a few Spiegelmom Scraps sequins and some label stickers around my photos. Here's another look at the finished layout:

Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope you have enjoyed this crazy layout! Happy scrapping everyone. Don't forget if you place an order via the Shimmerz Store, add my name to the comments to receive a freebie! Enjoy the video below.

July Color Kitz Inspiration & Process Video | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Shimmerz Friends & Fans!

Amanda here, and boy oh boy was I excited when I saw the July Color Kitz!
SO.much.awesomeness!!!
I just couldn't wait to get creating with this fabulous kit!
But enough chatter, let's get straight into the good stuff!
Here's what I created with the July Color Kitz....

"Shine Bright"

Whoa! Talk about wow factor!
This month's kit is simply spectacular! La la LOVE!!!

If you missed kit release day, you can check out The July Edition below....

Kit Contents:

Vibez Seas The Day - Exclusive New Color only available in this kit!
Shimmerz Royal Red
Blingz Pixie Dust
Inklingz Blue My Mind
Spiegelmom Scraps Gold Stardust Sequins

Yay!!!

Told you it was awesome!
If you're super quick, there might just be one or two of these lovelies still left in the store!

Let's take a closer look at my layout....

Seriously so cool!
I've combined the July Color Kitz with the Elle's Studio July Kits & stamps as they're truly a match made in heaven! All the July 4th colors, and so many creative possibilities!
I opted for a messy mixed background & lots of luscious layers!

I started my layout by creating that divine blue base using both the Seas The Day and Blue My Mind paints. The golden shimmer in the Inklingz Blue My Mind took me by surpsise - it's completely phenomenal! Blew my mind is an understatement!

I applied a few paint layers of these two colors, & then added in some Blingz Pixie Dust too!
Gor-jus!
I splattered all these colors throughout the layout for added interest.

Next came lots of paper lovelies and scrapbook supplies from the July Elle's Studio Kit & New Releases. I just love a good layered photo cluster - don't you?

I scattered lots of the Gold Stardust sequins throughout the page - they're so super tiny and the perfect amount of sparkle for my masculine design. Also, they're stars & stars are errrything!
They're kind of my go to embellishment for boy layouts, & also perfect for documenting all your July celebrations. Stars for the win!

For finishing touches, I added droplets of Shimmerz Royal Red, and lots of repeat stamping with the Elle's Studio: You Are My Sunshine Stamp.
Both my title, Shine Bright, & subtitle, Fun Is Here, have been created with the Title Builder Vol.3 Stamp Bundle Set. Fabulous!

Wanna see all the details?
You can watch my process video of how it all came together HERE.

Thanks so much for watching!
I hope I have inspired you to get painting with the July Edition Kitz today!

Thanks so much for visiting,
til next time,
