  • 1 package of Mini Rustic Crafting Clothes Pins

You can find my process video on my YouTube Channel.

Lately I have been finding my Faith again and part of my ritual is to write down in mini-book I created several months ago Verses and Scriptures which "Talk" to me and adding a text or Prayer which came out of me reading this verse. I really love and enjoy this time with Him as well as the creative process.

My Shimmerz Paintz, Vibez and Inklings have found a central place in this book and I reach for them every time I create a new entry. I even added a little bit of  24 Karat Gold Foilz to this spread. I can't get enough of this gold and have been using it loads!

One of the thing I love to do is cerate an ombre effect with my Shimmerz, which I did here with Buttercream, Magenta and Iris M y Case.

I colored the wooden peg with the Blue Jeans Vibez and mixed some 24 Karat Gold Foilz with a little bit of Magenta on my Velum.

A few flowers and embellishments for added details and my entry was completed!

I have so much love for these products!

Make sure you grab this gorgeous, fall kit from the Shimmerz shop before they are gone and add my name "Emilie" in the comment section for a free surprise gift! See you soon!

Be Strong and Courageous.

Hey there!  Lydell here again sharing a page from this week in my Bible.  My bible group is reading Joshua, and this particular verse reminded me of a song I listened to as a teen, when life was not always so easy.  I love how music brings back memories and feelings associated with particular times and people......So I just had to do this verse from the chapter.

I used Shimmerz Aqua Huez, and a couple of Creameez colours and a gold Inklingz (a favourite...Miner, Miner  such a beautiful Gold!)

I drew out my design and inked it with a Black .1 Micron Pen. Once dry I added colour, lightly at first and adding deeper colours in the folds of the roses and where shadows might be in the leaves.

I wrote the text with an embossing pen and covered it with white embossing powder and then melted with a heat tool.  Then the background colours were added with the white resisting the colour.
A technique that is not too tricky, and quite eye catching!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have an awesome weekend.

Thrive- A Song Journal Entry By Stephanie

Hello everyone, I’m so happy to be here today! I hope everyone is doing well and having a great day!  I have a fun song journal entry to share with you guys, with a super easy background. Lets dive in a little bit.

This time around I chose to go with the song “Thrive” by Casting Crowns, it’s so good you guys! I have a lot of changes happening in my life right now, so this song really hit home for me the other day when I started listening to the words. This past year or so it has felt like we’ve been  on a roller coaster ride, not necessarily a bad one but things have been moving so quickly and changing just as fast. Now honestly change isn’t always my favorite thing, sometimes it rockets me out of my comfort zone and I feel a little crazy in life. I like routine and structure but am learning that God is usually trying to speak to me through the rocket rides. When I’m saying “but i’m so comfy here where I’m confident in what I do”, He is saying “trust me I have something awesome in store for you.” I am learning to step out of my ordinary and trust where He leads us. Sometimes it’s hard but an adventure with God is a safe bet to happiness even if you have to go through a bit of crazy to get there.

For this page I decided to switch up my background a bit. Instead of doing my usual painted background I chose to pull out my Martha Stewart fringe scissors and cut up some white cardstock strips. I decided to layer them randomly on my page then dropped in some paints here and there for a watercolor droplet look using my Shimmerz Creameez. After that I layered on some stamps. I added my journaling on a piece of patterned paper that I cut into a banner shape.

For my title I used some black letter stickers, I really like the contrast the black letters gave my white background, it just looks crisp to me. After my title was in place I layered on some of the flowers and other goodies from the She Blooms Paper Pieces then the “bloom where you are planted”. To finish off my page I put the song info on a blue chipboard label and scattered some enamels across my pages.
Even though this was a super easy page to create, the texture of the background packs quite a punch. I hope you like it!
Stephanie.

Jesus You Are All I Need- Stephanie Buice

Good morning everyone! Stephanie here today with my very first Shimmerz blog post, and I've been so excited to share with you!
I will be bringing you guys bible journaling and faith art pages like this one from my Song and Praise journal, to hopefully inspire you to try it out for yourselves.
My Song Journal is mainly where I document little tidbits of my heart that get stirred up by worship music, and bible journaling is all about documenting prayers and thoughts on scripture in my bible or other little faith journals. Both are just fun ways in which I get to use the talents God gave me to glorify Him and let Him know how thankful I am that I have His love in my life.

Music is one of my favorite things, I love how I can always find something to match my mood or even lift me up when I'm having one of those days. My favorite part about music is how the lyrics can often put into words so easily what I can not, I may be feeling or thinking it but find it hard to articulate. Then bam! I'll be driving down the road and I hear some song and think "Yes, that exactly it! How did YOU get into my head!?" Haha it never fails!

So I grabbed my Shimmerz paints and got right to work on creating the background for this page.
First I started with using some of the Creameez by just brushing them here and there around my paper, layering the colors until I got a base that I liked.
After the Creameez were dry I added in some Dazzlers brushed in on top, then I
set it aside so it could dry a bit.

While I was waiting for my background to dry I decided to paint some flowers for the bottom corner of my page. I used a mix of Dazzlerz, acrylics and Creameez for these. I'm not sure why, but flowers are one of the most challenging things for me to paint. I'm not really a drawing artist so I just king of winged it then cut them out in the shape and sizes I wanted. They worked perfectly even though they are very imperfect, ha!
After all my paint was dry I added in my title, journaling and a few stamps here and there.
It really is such a simple page but the feelings that went into it are ones of so much love and thanks.

This entry is inspired by the Gateway Worship song "Dwelling Place", as I sat there listening to this song, I couldn't help but feel crazy love for God. I was amazed by how even through music He takes the chance to draw nearer to us.

Starting this new year I feel like I have a thousand resolutions, some are tiny and some are so large they almost seem impossible. I was trying to make a list of them when this song can on and I almost dropped my pen. "Jesus you are all I need." I could fill an entire note pad with resolutions but if I do not have my heart right with God it is all meaningless.
So at that point I just ripped the page off my pad and started writing this instead: I know that everything I could ever need or want is found in Jesus. Once my eyes are in the right spot my heart will follow and in Him I will find the strength and will power to conquer all of my impossibles. Meaning once He is in the right spot everything else will eventually fall into place.

I hope you've enjoyed my page and that I've inspired you to try journaling your heart out to God in any way you feel led. You may even be surprised by what you end up creating, when something comes right from the heart it seldom disappoints!

Supply List: Dazzlerz: Dreamscicle, Spun Sugar, Sea U in the Mornin', Tutti Frutti, Lemon Drop, Pucker Up Pink, Gummy Berry Blue, Licorice Stick, Red-iculous, Sour Apple; Creameez: Great Fruit, Daffodil, Ride The Tide, My Clementine, Lettuce Get Together, Just Peachy, Tripping' in the Tropics, Piggy Pink, Strawberry Fields; Coloringz: My Bleeding Heart.
