CPS -Shimmerz Grow Card

Hi Everyone,
I'm Maggie Lamarre with the Education team. I'm excited to be here with you as we showcase the fun sketch from Card Positioning and the magic of Shimmerz.
Have you been having fun looking at all the awesome tutorials and inspiration so far?
Grab your  cuppa joe and get comfy for a very very short tutorial, so don't blink :)

I'm an advocate for simple cards specially with the Holiday looming so so soon. This year I said to myself I'm going to get organized and get all my cards mailed out by Nov 26th. I'm very proud of myself for starting this early :)

Supplies:

Marks Paper Company English Garden, Making Memories Metal sentiment, Basic Grey Rhinestones, Jenni Bowling Bingo card, Offray ribbon.Tag. Shimmerz Bamboo Leaf, Bed of Roses, Chik-A-Dee, UHU Glue, Gartner studio cardstock.

How to:

1. Spritz all 3 Shimmerz on non-porous surface then drag the tag onto the surface, then redo 2 times, let dry, drag again by smearing any edges that didn't get saturated.
2.Cut the pattern paper 5x3.5 and distress the edges,adhere to the base.

3.Loop ribbon thru the tag and distress the edges, adhere to the pattern paper.

4. Spritz Chik-A-dee onto the bowling card let dry for 2 mtes or use a heat embossing gun.
5.Adhere the rhinestone to the card then add the Sentiment to the bottom.

Voila you are done in less than 7 mtes :)

Fairy Junebug

I love using Shimmerz products for sprucing up a fairy image. I'm slightly partial to fairies so I usually have a good excuse to use Shimmerz paints. hehe!

I love this gal's long legs....wish mine were that long!

What I used: Fairy Junebug stamp from All That Scraps, Stampin' Up! cardstock, Neenah white, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, Memento ink, Copic markers, Basic Grey half-back pearls, Making Memories pattern paper, Fiskars edge punch, yellow ink for sponging, Shimmerz Spritz in Baby's Breath, Shimmerz Paintz in Marigold.

See in the second picture all that SPARKLE? That is our "new" Shimmerz Spritz with some Marigold painted into her hair.

Re-Introducing Spritz

All of the glitz, glamour and sparkle of Shimmerz with the added fun & flexibility of a spray mist bottle -- it's Spritz! While Spritz may seem like a new product to most of our blog readers, it's not. It's an improved version of Shimmering Spritz which was released back in 1999 and was the original shimmering sprayable coloring medium. Now 10 years after its debut, Shimmerz Spritz is back and better than ever!

"This is the sparkliest stuff I've ever encountered. It is PHENOMENALLY sparkley. I wish y'all could see in person just how sparkley this card is. ... I certainly had no problem getting a nice even application on my acetate sheet using the spritz! I just layed it in a cardboard box, stood about 12-14 inches away and misted it until I got the desired effect. And look! No pooling either like you'd think you'd have when using a water based paint on a piece of plastic paper."

A few important details about Spritz:

What's a scrapbook page without paper and embellishments? (Okay, besides digital!) Anyway, you can see here how easy it is to dress up a page using a little Shimmerz to highlight. I chose to highlight the ribbon used on the tag and the trees on the patterned paper. (I also highlighted my sister's wedding ring on the photograph, but I just couldn't get a good pic of it for this post.)

It's time to CELEBRATE!

First, a little Thanksgiving bird for everyone celebrating Thanksgiving here in the states and those serving and/or living abroad. For this card, since the focal image is stamped on patterned paper, I decided to use white cardstock the for the scalloped layer. I painted the scallops and the outer 1/4" of the oval with Angel Wings Shimmerz. (No need to cover the whole oval since only the little scallops are showing.) That sparkly layer REALLY pops!

Grand Opening & Black Friday Sale

We've got some big news! Starting Thanksgiving Day (Thursday), we plan to open a Shimmerz Shop online -- you will be able to order Shimmerz products directly from Shimmerz!

To celebrate, Shimmerz & Blingz will be sale-priced for the weekend and will go back up to their normal price on Monday, Dec 1. As soon as it's open for business, we'll post the link to the store.
