Hi Shimmerz Friends! 

Spring has finally sprung!!! Yay! 

I just love all the pretty pastels and colors of this season!

Amanda here, & I absolutely can not wait to share what I've created with our newest Color Kitz!

But before I do,  here's a quick peek at The March Collection......

Now onto the good stuff - here's what I've created with this stunning kit, 

"Be You"

Oh my! Sooooooooo pretty!!!

It's like a Sping dream come true!

Such beautiful colorz, butterflies and florals! 

Plus, I'm playing along with the Spring Forward Challenge which means NO pattern paper for the entire month! 

(But that's not really a challenge when we have so many gorgeous colors to play with!)

Let's take a closer look at  my pretty page....

Wow! 

Those colors are errrything! 

The brand new Spritz: Sweet Pea is absolutely DIVINE!!! 

 I think it may even replace Vibez Princess as my fave purple! 

You'll spy that I've also included a few 'extra' colors in my layout today too - because, well, all.the.Spring.feels!!! I just couldn't help myself, ha!

I used the Shimmerz Pool Me Close as an alternative to the Creameez Refresh Mint because regrettably, I have put this mint color in a really safe place....

Yep, you guessed it! 

So safe I can't remember where it is :(

So we'll just imagine that the intricate die cut butterflies are a more matte and minty hue ;) 

(That said, Shimmerz Pool Me Close is a very pretty alternative!)

As I wanted to create a really pretty floral design, I decided to use a different cut file from the kit. This one is courtesy of The Cut Shoppe and is called Floral Wreath. 

(Basically, I'm saving that gorgeous Hot Air Balloon cut file & coordinating stickers for when I have the right photo!)

I backed the Floral Wreath cut file with papers that I created from Spritz: Sweet Pea & Cotton Candy, Creameez Sky's The Limit & Inklingz Meet Me @Sunset. I embellished the flower centers with the Hello Sun Dotz & the brand new enamel dots called, Shimmerz Paints Spotz! Simple, but so effective!

Before adhering my cut file to my white cardstock base, I decided to create a fun background to layer it onto! I used the super vibrant Vibez Snow Way Man and applied it in a crude circular design using the packaging technique. I added quite a few splatters too! 

Once dried, I also added splatters & droplets of the two Spritz colors as well! 

Love how this looks!

I stamped a few butterflies throughout this mixed media background, then adhered my shimmering cut file! I tucked my photo into the wreath, and adorned my page with more pretty butterflies, and a sweet lil title!

For finishing touches, I added a few sprinkles of the Tropical Escapade sequins from our friends at SpiegelMom Scraps, AND more of our fabulous new Spotz!

I am a wife of 17 years and I mostly stay at home to hang out with my two young daughters and drive them to all their activities! We moved to sunny Tampa 3 years ago and love hitting the theme parks, the beach and all the art & craft festivals.  I have loved all things crafty forever but just discovered my own ability to (MAKE stuff!) in the past year.  A few You Tube videos and I was hooked! Mixed media, altered art, and scrapping are my favorite.  I still can't name a definite style, as I want to try something new all time.

Shimmerz Challenge Post- Cards

Hi there everyone.
I have a Challenge Project to share today.  Its a fun one too, right up my ally!  I loved doing this one!

I enjoy typography and lettering, I have done Calligraphy for more years than I care to recall, and I love creating stuff.  My Daughter has a birthday on the weekend, so I made her this little Card and envelope.
I recently caved and bought an envelope punch board, (I love it BTW!!!) and today I set about decorating the envelope with a little envelope art and making a sweet little card to match.

I used Texturez Brickwall in the background, with some sequin waste and a palette knife.

The number and the heart are also covered in the same Texturez Paint.

Such a cool effect!

The matching envelope is handwritten and another little matching heart added to tie it together.

And the back.  

Nice and simple, yet a sweet little keepsake.

Shimmerz October Challenge, a winner & Octobers Guest Designer!

"Here's a LO I created using the bright Dazzlerz, and I love them!!  I have used Gummy Bear Blue and Lemon Drop, as well as some Tiddy Widy Texturez. Thanks for looking."

I love how she selected two brights from the Shimmerz Dazzlerz Ranges and used them as the base for her page with Stamping and stenciling.  She completed her Project by co ordinating her embellishments to the Shimmerz Colours.  

Her page is a fabulous Boy page, that is bright and colourful!

We Welcome Екатерина Алексеева (Catherine) as our October Guest Designer.

Learn a little about her below.

Hello! My name is Ekaterina. I am almost 33. I live in a small town of atomic industry in the Urals, Russia. I am married. We have 4 children - 4 boys. The oldest, Yefim, is 6, twins Matvei and Timofei are 4, and the youngest, Yegor, is just 4 months old. 

I read about scrapbooking about 7  years ago and did my first project in 2007. It took me almost two years to fling myself into scrapbooking. This art came into my life and I believe it'll be with me forever)

In my projects I like to use different paints, texture pastes, stencils, alcohol inks and mists, stamps and embossing, and stitches.

This month I am honored to be a Guest Designer for Shimmerz. I found the products of the company not so long ago but fell in love with them from the first sight. Now I often use the products in my projects, which you can find in my blog.

For her First Project She created using the October Challenge.

Heres Catherine.......

"For this challenge I've done two cards.

The first one is very tender and romantic."

Here is a list of what I used:
Shimmerz – Babble Gum, Sky Blue
Dazzlerz- Spun Sugar

The card is made on the base of a Spellbinders die cut. The background I made with the help of an embossing folder and mists. I singled out the snowflakes with  Dazzlerz- Spun Sugar (mixed with water) and pants Shimmerz Babble Gum and Sky Blue. 

I also painted the die cuts-snowflakes with Shimmerz Babble Gum and Sky Blue.

The second card is more official.

Here is a list of what I used:

Shimmerz – Key Lime, Jilted Jade 
Dazzlerz - Spun Sugar
Pearlz - Sunnyside Up

The background is made with the embossing folder, the snowflakes are singled out by  Dazzlerz - Spun Sugar (mixed with water). 

The chipboard  "Weathered Clock Bigz Die" was painted by Pearlz - Sunnyside Up. 

The fir branch die cut was painted with  Shimmerz – Key Lime, Jilted Jade and covered with artificial snow. I also added fir strobiles, berries and a ribbon.

A Shimmerz Challenge!

How do you like yourself a challenge?

Well, we are going to give you a prompt each month to get your creativity flowing, get you using your stash.....AND your Shimmerz Paints!  They will never be difficult, but they will get you creating, and they will get paint on your hands!!!

So April's Challenge is this.....

So heres mine 

SO I used Coloringz in Heidi Ho Blue, and Hermit The Frog Vibez, and the NEW Dazzlerz in Gummy Berry Blue, Licorice Stick and Dreamsicle and Texturez in Tidy Widy....Such great texture!!!  YUMMO.
And some close ups....

You have all month to join in, and create your Project.
You might need some more cards for those special occaisions,  You might need a gift for a friend, or a mini album to complete, you might need some photos scrapped or you might just need to create something just for you......  What ever your need, get creative this month.

OH and best of all?  The winner will be rewarded!!!!  (Yay)  Need more Shimmerz???? well just join in the fun.  Load your projects to the Facebook Page and title it SPC01  Tell us what Shimmerz Products you used on your project and you are in the running!  (We will be continuing to offer this challenge, so don't worry if you don't have Shimmerz paints on hand right now  simply head on over to our store, stock up, and get ready for the future challenges!!)
