Painting a Holiday Die Cut | Audrey Yeager

 Hello everyone and Happy Holidays!

Each year, I do 12 Days of Holiday Scrapping with process videos on my YouTube Channel.  On the first day of scrapping, I used my true love: SHIMMERZ paintz!  :)

I cut this cut file from white cardstock with my Silhouette, and then used a paintbrush to paint the leaves.  For the leaves, I used: Creamez "Pining for You"; Inklingz "Holly and Ivy"; Shimmerz "Celery"; Inklingz "Twinkle Twinkle";  and Creamez "Red Neckin"

I backed just a few of the leaves with patterned paper, and on the silver ones, I used some sparkly, snowy confetti to add some shine and texture.  I backed my word die cuts with coordinating patterned paper as well.

I gessoed my background patterned paper, and used the packaging technique and some water-coloring to add a place for my photo to rest. For the background I used: Shimmerz "Going Peach Side"Shimmerz "Pink Caviar"; and Creamez "Red Neckin".  Then I splattered with some Inklingz "Twinkle Twinkle".

Finally, I glued everything to my page, machine stitched over the edges of the die cuts, and added a few embellishments here and there.

You can watch my entire process below!

Thanks so much for watching and Happy Holidays!

Thoughts & Prayers | Julee Tilman

Hi friends! Today I've got another shimmery card creation for you.

I started out just wanting to play with paint, so I pulled out pink caviar and pip pip cherry-o Shimmerz and started playing on watercolor paper.  When I got the look I wanted, I cut the panel and rounded the corners.  I then pulled out the gorgeous Fantastic Flowers set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and stamped this bloom and watercolored with the same paints, adding a touch of candlelight Shimmerz for the flower center.

The flower is fussy cut then I curled up each petal just a bit.  I then decided my background needed a bit more somethin', so I pulled out the Texture Tiles 1 set and randomly added some script text to the watercolored panel. The sentiment is from Mason Jar Bouquet and is embossed in white on a vellum circle.

For the base of the card, I wanted some texture and shine, so pulled out a succulent stencil and some Spun Sugar Dazzlerz.  My stencil had a bit of pink caviar paint I hadn't cleaned all the way off, so it gave just a hint of pink while bringing all that dazzle!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day.  If you're inspired to hit the Shimmerz shop, remember to mention my name in the comments when you place your order for a free mini surprise.

Heart You | Julee Tilman

Hi Shimmerz friends! It's Julee Tilman, popping in to share a little card or two I cooked up with the fantastic June Missy Whidden Color Kit.

I {puffy heart} LOVE the colors in this kit! Especially the delectable new kit exclusive Hint of Mint color. Combined with Chance of Rain, they make the most stunning ocean effects. Here's a peek of a card I shared recently using these two colors for the ocean. I just smooshed them on the top of the card with a plastic baggy and then added a few splatters for depth. Instant ocean!

Okay, back to today's card. the kit comes with four fabulous colors, a set of Dotz, plus an exclusive Paige Evans Cut File.

I must confess I'm an old school crafter. I own a cutting machine, but it's never made it out of it's box in the three years I've had it. One of these days I'll be brave enough to unbox it, figure out where to put it, and figure out how to work it! 😀 I did fall in love with the sweet heart image for this month's cut file, though, so I resized it in my photo editing software and printed out on cardstock with alaser printer in a variety of sizes. I had a very pleasant afternoon painting all sorts of hearts in the kit colors, then fussy cutting to layer onto my card.

I smooshed a panel with the pinks and then a larger panel with the blues, then layered everything together, adding a bit of twill across the back.  I used one of the Dotz in the kit as my sentiment and tested out whether or not you could paint on them. Yes, you can! I painted the little heart with pink caviar shimmerz. It took a couple of coats to get it to stick solidly, but it worked and I love the pop of color it adds!  I finished off with some shabby edges and a regular card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! As always, if you're inspired to place an order in the Shimmerz Paints shop, put my name in the comments so they know who sent ya!
